rakoonhat: Less scooters will not solve the problem. Although I agree that the scooters shouldn`t be abused, Taking them away will just make life harder for those that need them. As it stands now, People have to wait to get an available scooter the first week of the month.

There are stores I`d like to shop in that I can`t, Because they don`t have any scooters available at all. So, People like me are dependent on the stores that do have them.

Just a few places that don`t have any: Home Depot, Lowes, Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, Dollar General, Big Lots, and others.

What is this enabling? Carpooling, I thought that was one of the things we wanted people to do. So it`s only okay in actual cars and not in places where it`s reasonable to walk. dratin` hypocrites.

Hmm, I haven`t been to Walmart in a while but I don`t think I`ve ever seen that. Kind of wish I did, it would have made the store seem more interesting.

Oh man, when I worked at Walmart, we were having to stop customers from doing that all the time. I don`t know if it really hurts the electric carts, but I sure don`t want to see it.

They paid pretty well, pretty much the only retail place that starts above minimum wage around here, since they changed it last year. I hated that job so much, though. The only thing I hated more was the one fast food job I had for like a month. lol

@CrakrJak That is perhaps the first correct thing ive read you write and it explains alot about our former "conversation". (that being said i dont rightly know if you have written anything intelligent since then)

However people who have no right using a facility should not do so. Abusing a system like that is the best way to make everything worse for everybody.

before you or anyone else flame me for jumping to conclusions (which i havent from this message) The one driving the scooter may very well be disabled, being fat could be a result of that. And the "woman?" could be just giving him a backrub, who knows.

I have no problem with helping disabled people. Let them park closer, give them ramps, give them scooters. I am all for helping them enjoy their lives and making it easier.

However that said, being so fat you get exhausted walking from your couch to the bathroom is not a disability, well maybe its a mental one. I have heard all the stories of why people are fat, and let me tell you as a former 400 pound person who one day decided that he was over it and lost enough weight through nothing more then calorie counting that he now weighs 180, there is no freaking excuse. Problem is fat people can`t stop stuffing their pie holes. It is all about calories in vs calories out. It would do these people good to be forced to walk more, not less.

I have no pity for fat people since I was one myself once and I understand you can beat it, problem is most fat people don`t want to and would rather come up with lame half backed excuses.

i feel you are being taken advantage of. if you are truly disabled, not a fat person making excuses, then they should give you relief. that is your right.
there is no comfortable way to address this issue. either way people are going to feel hurt and disadvantaged. i just wish people who KNOW they are not disabled would consider YOU when they sit in that seat

my situation is dependant on the removal of public scooters to make them truly only accesible to the disabled. most people use transport chairs not scooters in thier homes. the removal of the scooters forces insurance plans to pay on them after time and most stores, at least in my area, give them to you for reasonable pay if medicare will not. i know fair well how awful medicare is..i want to make that clear. i see patients everyday stuck in a massive donuthole that should not exist. its awful and wrong to corner people like they do..and that is just prescription coverage.
it would also be fair to point out that most fat people believe they are disabled for reasons becoming thier weight. that is not a disability. disabilities are things you cannot help..not four bags of chips and some gout later.

To be fair, whilst I have seen a few of these used by very overweight people here, most scooters are used by the elderly. Very elderly people on a scooter inside a shop can be a nightmare. I would not wish a lack of mobility on anyone, but add in a walking stick, general groughiness and a certain attitude and the result is bloody terrible.

rakoonhat: It`s harder for disabled people to exercise, Some get fat as a result. If people have a disabled parking window placard or plates, They are disabled.

I don`t approve of people that aren`t disabled using them, Or abusing them as this picture shows. But you can`t just make a blanket statement that all fat people are not disabled, It`s false.

I am disabled and use the scooters at Walmart, Yet I can`t get medicare to pay for a scooter for me, Inside my home. I`ve been told that the only people that can get medicare to pay for them, Basically, Can`t get out of bed or dress themselves.

I`m asking you and people like you, Not jump to conclusions just because you see someone that`s obese using these, They may be disabled.

crakrjak you must of had a bad day, that was just rude and ignorant

the majority of those carts are never used by disabled persons since fat people, no other condition just lazy, steal them and ride them around. they then in turn take them out to the parking lot, leave them on, and let them drain battery so the older folks, and disabled cannot use them....to just stop supplying them is a whole lot better. then medicare pays for more personal use scooters, and they and only they have the scooters instead of the lazy.

So, Loose some fat off your brain and drop the prejudice against people who are disabled.

Wal-Mart is a big store, but if you need a power cart to help you around because of weight issues, you may want to re-think your lifestyle. Unless it`s glandular, then...bummer.

"There must be a weight limit on that ride?"

I`ve heard that they used to have alarms that went off when the weight limit was exceeded, but that was bad for the self-esteem of the morbidly obese and would deter them from buying ridiculous amounts of food, so stores got rid of them. So they might be over it, but no one will know.

BUT - walmart has FANTASTIC prices on ammunition. Hands down cheapest bullets you can find - if they have them in stock! They always sell out!

Oh, and their other prices are actually fantastic.

GOD - I do feel dirty just going in there - I smell the poverty and sadness of the workers - BUT DAMN, HAVE YOU EVER ACTUALLY COMPARED THEIR PRICES??? BEST PRICES AROUND.
