Sandwich is a town in Massachusetts, it`s on the cape. Awful name, but once in a while you get greatly-titled stories like this one!

There`s a town in Alaska called Chicken. The story behind it is that there were a lot of ptarmigans there, but since nobody knew how to spell "ptarmigan", they named it Chicken.

Signed up just to say this:

Sandwich is a town, not a noun. It`s in Cape Cod, a popular vacationing spot, in Massachew-however-you-spell-its.

Sandwich is in England true, but the temperature is in Farenheit, which would leave me to conclude that this is in the US. Either that or its like 140 Farenheit in England. Plus dude baby meat is soooo tender and the marbling is magnificent.

"Question: why aren`t cherry tomatos called Baby Tomatos?"

Because Cherry Tomatos are not the same variety as your average tomato. They were introduced in the early 70`s by some professors having been genetically altered.

Trivia time!

The sandwich comes from London, not Sandwich.

Sounds odd, but the connection is with a person, not directly with a place. The Earl of Sandwich (not the current one, obviously, one of his ancestors) called for beef between two slices of bread as a convenient quick meal while he was busy and that type of food became associated with him.

I wonder if every town and city in England has one named after it in the USA.

It`s channel 7 which is a popular news station in Massachusetts. Sandwich is one of thew many towns that make up the Cape (or Cape Cod) in said state of Massachusetts. And considering it says "cape" int he background... Imma guess it`s good ol` MA.

So yes, bananajojo wins
