"prisioners is high cause america doesn`t just kill criminals"
They kill a lot more than Australia does.

"America is doing its best to deal with the enviormental crisis. what is everyone else doing? (not nesecarily including europe)"
You mean like Asia (excluding Mid East), where the per capita CO2 emissions are lower than US? Where a very small percentage drive cars, let alone SUVs and muscle cars? Or like Australia, the Pacific, most of S America and Africa, who have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol (USA hasn`t)?

Rape
#1 South Africa - 1.19538 per 1000 people

So yeah, some of these are crap... if you`re going by per capita, almost all of it is.

I assume it means reported cases of rape. Although it`s a huge problem in African countries, it tends to go unreported and unspoken of because there isn`t really much support for women in these countries.

I wouldn`t be so sure of the plastic surgery one. Many Asian countries consider that procedure to put a crease in your eyelid as almost a rite of passage and they also have high stats for nose jobs and boob jobs. I call bs on the total crimes total crimes since some countries don`t report. And high divorce rates are usually indicative of women having more rights :-/ Teen birth rate we are not #1 when you bring in other countries not listed and of course we have more McDonalds, we invented it! That like saying Australia has the highest consumption of vega-mite

Even if 20% of the population of the US is a criminal, that would still be more than the entire population of the UK.

Since I don`t want to spend much more time on this, I`m just going to throw in a few last words.

He said nine good things about America. Not "Nine things that no other country can ever and has ever done because america is sooooooooo awesome". I would have put deep-frying every edible object as #1 on that list.

And per capita is very irrelevant because this list (the one that this comments section is under) is not per capita, it is just totals.
When I threw together the list I didn`t expect some one with that amount of time on his hands to troll me, and so I did admittedly drop a few opinions.

As far as diversity goes I challenge you to find a country more ethnically diverse than the U.S.

And done.

8. What do you base religious tolerance on? Law or Society? I agree that many countries aren’t religiously free, and the US is relatively free, but I can think of better examples.
9. If you think size of the armed forces equals power, then you seem to be willingly ignoring the rest of what makes the world go around.
10. How does per capita make it irrelevant? If anything, it makes it much more comparable and relevant.
11. A constitution does not mean inherent freedom, I was merely illustrating that the US constitution is in many ways not unique.
12. I assumed you meant economic opportunity, which would be closely linked to economic freedom, I assume. If you mean otherwise, exactly how does the US have opportunities that no others have? It’s a rather bold claim.
13. I’m glad that programme exists, are you assuming that other countries don’t have that?

first seen in Manchester, that would not have been possible without the ‘ancient’ computers, such as those created in France by Jacquard. This can go on and on and on.
6. There are numerous countries that can claim the title of being the most diverse, depending on how you define ethnicity, and how broad your parameters are. The US is indeed very diverse, but that doesn’t discredit other nations that are potentially or factually more diverse.
7. The US has who beat? I illustrated this in point 12, stating that for example Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore are the ‘freest’ . Wikipedia article I ran to? Where in my post do I reference Wikipedia? It seems to me you’re reading what you want to see, rather than what I’m actually posting. And really? Changing last I saw to last I checked? 1.Granted, it’s your opinion, but I fail to see how it is the fairest democratic system in the world. Personally I’d find that to be Germany, a proportionate party democracy where you also vote for individuals to represent you in a district, with compensation between state and national level
2. The European Union is a sui generis, both legally and economically, and due to the nature of it’s single market is relevant. This , however, is a different discussion

If you`re referencing that Wikipedia article you ran to, then it`s because it`s partly based on the influence of foreign powers on the government, which is inevitable when you account for the population and GDP. And the phrase is “last I checked”.
8. A religiously tolerant country is surprisingly difficult to find, but I would say that besides the U.S., predominantly Buddhist countries are the most tolerant.
9. Because we’re the most powerful country hands down.
10. Yeah. There’s that per capita thing again.
11. O.K. I guess that’s the same as inherent freedom.

If it was based on total number, than the whole frickin` thing is retarded.

I mean, we`re the third largest country in the world by population, and the fourth largest (populated) country in the world by area.

In terms of population, the two that beat us are China and India. One is a totalitarian dictatorship that barely reports most of it`s "bad" statistics anyway, and the other pretty much consists of vegitarians and had Ghandi.

Not only that, but in terms of just overall crime, America is way to over-the-top on drug issues...

The lack of sources really make this post believable.

Even if every thing here is "true", what is this based on? Number 1 doesn`t really mean much by itself. Is this compared to population, area, total number, or what? This graphic leaves MUCH to be desired before it can be taken within any degree of seriousness.

So all those countries in Africa that have loads of crime aren`t on there? Is it because they`re not considered crimes over there?

I find it hard to believe that an islamic or African country isn`t leading in rape. They hand it out to young girls as punishment the way we take away phone privileges.
But since this country is so dangerous we should stop allowing people from other "more sophisticated" countries to immigrate here. You know for their own protection.

What a surprise, another "Let`s hate America because we hate them and that`s hateful" post/instigation/flamewar. I`m glad all of you hate us sooooo much. That`s what we get for trying to be the friendly giant for so long. Keep on poking guys. But don`t forget what we are absolutely untouchable in, and that is killing our enemies.

Thanks @rammo34, I was sure (almost) every nation in Africa had higher rape rates (per capita) than the rest of the world.

So: OGM the third largest country in the world has more of everything!!! Also: Elephants eat more than Mice!!!
Useless graphic is biased, eh?

Bullpoo about the U.S. being #1 in crime and rape. Considering how bad other countries are, like Mexico and their REGULAR kidnappings and killings. Brazil has plenty of killing, as well as South Africa and a medley of other places. As for McDonald`s, that is a business started in the U.S. so of course there are more here than any where. there are also probably more Burger Kings, Hardees, Wendy`s, and Sonics here as well.
china makes, kills and imprisons more people per year then we do plain and simple
Don`t know about "making" or "killing" people, but the imprisonment rate really is shocking - I was reading an article on it just the other day. The United States has the highest documented incarceration rate in the world, and also has the highest total documented prison and jail population in the world. Both in absolute and per capita terms, you guys sure do lock a lot of people up - almost 1% of your entire population is in jail. Mostly due to the (I think insane) "war on drugs".

I question the prisoners one...is China only counting the "legal" prisoners they have, what about their political prisoners. As for the rest...yea sounds about right of course it doesn`t say what percentage of the "crimes" or "rapes" are committed by actual American`s or visitors considering we are the home the the United Nations or as we like to call them United "can`t blame me can`t arrest me I have diplomatic immunity" Nations.

Actually, without context and sources this is meaningless.

Plastic surgery in Mexico? How many clients are US citizens looking for a bargain?

Puerto Rican divorce rate higher than UK? A lot of Brits cohabit, is it the same in PR?

Total crimes would surely be total reported crimes. What proportion of crimes are reported in Lagos or Sao Paulo?

The higher the population, the higher these numbers will be. With America having a reasonably large population it`s not surprising that they top the list on these things. What`s worse in that list is that the UK crime rate is in the top four considering the modest population of 60m.

@ Ken_Turner

Thank you for posting what I would have said almost word for word.

This graphic is biased in the fact that though our NUMBERS are higher in many of these categories, there are also underlying situations and circumstances that defeat them. I.E. We are number 1 in REPORTED rapes. I see this as a good statement because it shows our women arent subjugated into not reporting when such horrible things are done to them. We are number 1 in McDonalds resaurants, yes. But our McDonalds follow FAR better health standards than those that exist in other countries. Divorce, Pregnancy, and Crime all fall under the same rule as Rape. In a lot of countries, these things are swept under the carpet and not talked about, even to authorities or doctors.

In many countries rape is not reported. If a woman is raped in KSA (especially a foreign maid ny her Saudi boss) she`b be crazy to report it as she would likely face charges of sexual misconduct with all that entails.

Similarly, in some countries the police would just shrug at best.

The carbon emmissions one seems counter-intuitive, but it`s per capita ... there`s a lot of rural chinese.

China has a far more crowded prison system.

Many African and Middle Eastern countries have much, much higher rates of rape, teen pregnancy, and total crimes (both documented and undocumented). I`m in the Army and have been to both Somalia and Iraq. I can tell you from personal experience that just because there aren`t police to report crimes to, that these crimes do not happen repeatedly on a daily basis.

The divorce rate is only so high in the U.S., because we live in a more free society where it is okay to separate from your significant other without having to consult with family and religious leaders.
