"american football doesnt even come close to rugby. those americans wouldnt stand a chance to the guys that play this proper sport"

On a football field or rugby field? I`d love to know which one so I can determine the severity of your ridiculousness. An NFL team is made up of elite athletes possessing several different specialized abilities. They could train a defensive lineman to drop a few pounds and run more, or a wideout to add a few pounds and tackle. Then they would certainly stand more than a chance on a rugby field given that they already are powerful and physical. A rugby team playing on an nfl field however.....exactly which guy on your team is going to push a 6`5`` 335 pound offensive tackle out of the way, or defend the wide receiver who runs a 4.3 forty yard dash and has a 42 inch vertical jump?

It`s apple and oranges.
Having said that, the Irish team did us proud on home turf by getting right up their grill when they came to play in Ireland (note: we still lost though!)
I hadn`t seen that before. Maybe I`m odd, but I think the Irish team were being polite.
The Haka is truly terrifying (for those who don`t know it, traditional Maori tribal war-dance the All-Blacks do before each rugby game, and I think one of the greatest spectacles in sports).
Strange but true...it`s forbidden under rugby rules. One of the things most associated with rugby breaks rugby rules. There`s a special dispensation written into them for it.

As rugby is supposed to be played in a gentlemanly manner, you`re not allowed to threaten or intimidate your opponents before the match. Since that`s the whole point of the Haka, it clearly breaks the rules.

I disagree. I think a top rugby team would convincingly beat a top USA football team because rugby is a more fluid, continuous sport, but USA football shares the same basic skills and I think a top USA football team could train up to make a top rugby team. They`d have the strength, speed and basic skills for it, they`d just need to train for more sustained and thus more complex playing.

watching again, yeah, they do appear to be faked

which is kind of silly because I bet it would have been easier to just film each one of these stunts a dozen times each until the boys actually did hit the mark

I can`t say for sure whether these are fake or not, but there`s no reason to doubt them.

Behind-the-back passes, catches, and kicks are all things you do while assing about before and after training. These boys probably spend more time assing about before and after training than a club rugger does actually training. If I can make these kicks and passes facing the target, they could make them facing away.

Not a bad life, eh?

Swiss, indeed. The Haka is truly terrifying (for those who don`t know it, traditional Maori tribal war-dance the All-Blacks do before each rugby game, and I think one of the greatest spectacles in sports). Linky here for those who haven`t seen it.

The Hacker, that poo is terrifying. I would not want to play against them if they did that before a game.

Awesome, Butcher, did not know that you`re part Kiwi. That covers you (IMO of course) for the second and third greatest peoples of the good earth. Now, if only you had a little Irish in you, you`d truly be a god among men.

I played rugby in college, and we would always pitch in to watch an All Blacks game :) They have the best sense of humor. Just watch the Maori intimidation dance they do before every game!

pffft these guys wish they were Tommy Bowe.

"Also: Aussie accent rocks!"

The accents from New Zealand, even if you don`t recognise that the fact that they say things like "As an All Black..", have a New Zealand crest on their tops, and are advertising for a site with a New Zealand web address should be a give away.
So it takes fake skills? Sign me up, I got plenty of those.
I don`t think they are all fake. A few are pre-arranged and maybe fake - no-one can reliably catch a ball if they don`t know when and where it will be, but it is possible to catch a ball you can`t see if you know where it will be and when it will be there.

But throwing with that degree of precision from a standing position to a stationary target? Definitely. If you can do a good job of glancing around while running and dodging and while doing so throw to where a running player will be when the ball gets there, you can hit a smaller stationary target from a standing position.
