AFA: spreading hate and misunderstanding for you and your children. I really like the pretentious "Donate" button. As if...

[Take Action Now] button on the bottom right hand side.. what are they really gonna protest a department store because they aren`t as bigoted as them?

"the spread of homosexuality"

It`s a disease? The spread of influenza, herpes, the common cold?

the AFA, 2010`s version of the KKK, and proudly supported by a baptist church near you...

It is the AFA who put the blurb at the bottom about supporting the "spread" of homosexuality like it is a sickness. AFA is about as far right wing as you can get and lies and gross misrepresentation are their weapons.

Home Depot is not promoting homosexuality, they support the local special ed. people by hiring them for all staff positions from management on down.

And how ironic that it`s on the afa`s website. Technically, homosexuals can`t start families, anyway.

What a bold statement to make! They probably turned off more people than they turned on!

You know what this reminded me of?

I once was in a waiting room and I spotted a magazine targeted towards the black demographic.

Do you know what word I saw in there in every single advertisement?

"Diversity".

Now, it made me think, because never have I seen the word used with so much frequency, or urgency than in that magazine. To be sure, I picked up another magazine, this one targeted towards the white female demographic.

The word did not appear once. At all.

The AFA scares me more than Al Qaeda.

Probably because the Al Qaeda is a "boogey man" and the AFA is real.

@NDLOgan
Maybe the gay stereotype, as well as all others, is just funny. Maybe you should try having some kind of dialogue with a person before making a judgment. But I`m sure your not stereotyping Seastone because of your preconceived notions. That would be showing of another form of bigotry, and I`m sure you would never do that.

excellent point, NDLOgan. there`s nothing worse than a close-minded bigot. but tell the truth: your house *is* fabulous, right?

Male 218
Uh, Seastone:

As a one part of a gay couple, your logic is just as bad as those of the AFA. We spend a lot of time at Home Depot, and I can say in our 5 years together, we have NEVER gone to a fabric store. Really? Are you that closed-minded that you just go right for the stereotypes? It`s honestly just as bad with people like you that THINK they`re saying something "progresseive", when they`re really just showing off their own bigotry.

"Gay marriage > gay households > home improvement > SALES!"

Lord knows the gays will be spending more time renovating their house than almost any straight couples, though I suppose they will be spending more time at fabric stores, not home improvement ones. Also, gay couples already live together, regardless of marital status, and have already probably made their houses fabulous.

You`ve never been to a GLBTQ Freedom Day festival and parade, have you?

How about Mardi Gras?

Given how much sexual abuse goes on in conservative churches - not just the Catholic church, don`t you have other priorities to worry about?

This is what the AFA has a problem with

"- Full health insurance benefits to homosexual employees and "partners." The Home Depot recognizes two homosexual men who sleep together as "married."
- Insurance for complete sex-change operations.
- Requires some employees to attend diversity (homosexual acceptance) training."
and more

It`s not that they are embracing "the spread of homosexuality" that bothers me. It`s the italicized diversity with a question mark...as if they are shocked that it`s happened.

Bmh, you have a warped idea on what a gay pride festival entails.

The Home Depot has sponsored children`s activities at gay pride festivals- essentially giving the kids of gays and straight supporters a chance to get away from the scores of naked men into something a little more age-appropriate.

It`s too bad we have so many organizations like "Family Research Council" and "American Family Association" giving the words "family" and "Christian" such horrid connotations.

Can you clarify this one for us, Fancy? A screenshot from a website of people known for their retarded (even by standards of many ultraconservatives) religious views doesn`t really say much. It looks like the AFA `shopped the pic on their site.
