My wife translated. Basically the dog likes the water and prefers to stand. He usually sits for 15 minutes and yips often.

I guess he realizes that resting on all fours would mean is snout would be in the water? Maybe he just don`t want to drown? But then again, my dog would just swim around in the tub...

Wow, that dog acts distinctly Japanese. American dog would be splashing all over, cannonball dives, losing its mind.

"I understand what you mean :) but I think if he fell, he would probably just start swimming- and I don`t like to think that anyone standing around wouldn`t help the little guy up ;)"

Alot of toy and small dogs, especially the top heavy ones cant swim with there head above the waterline. Think pugs, staffys and so on. Some within the breed can, most cant. Either way, why risk it? Or even put a dog in this situation willingly? Given this dog looks like a poodle and would have no issues swimming, still not a risk I`d be taking.

Cute as drat, but interesting to note that the waters too deep, as in the dog cannot stand on all fours, he`s balancing on his back legs to keep his head above water.

Should he slip or fall his head would be underwater and he could drown. Really not that safe.

That`s the calmest most serene dog that I`ve ever seen while taking a bath. Every dog I`ve ever bathed ended up with a complete mess.

pui: Would you describe our love as a large or small breed of dog?

:D

Well it`s no wonder he stands like that. The water is too high for him to stand on all fours.

who said small dogs are frail? did ya forget dachshunds are a breed of hunting dog? they were bred to get badgers out of holes. I had one he was great and far from frail. My pugs are pretty sturdy too. I do however prefer large dogs.

My dog sits like that all the time to look out the window on the door. It`s so cute haha.

Not all small dog breeds are frail and deformed. I have a cairn terrier, which is a very strong and healthy breed. Cairns were bred small so they would be better at hunting small prey, not to become a "barbie dog". My dog also has a very sweet personality, nothing like that of a chihuahua or something. He`s not THAT small (about 18lbs), but he`s in the "small dog" category.

"I f*cking hate small dogs. You think its cute when you can make them act like people because generations of selective breeding have left them with deformed skeletons and small dog syndrome causes them to exhibit dominant behaviour over their owners (which you idiots misinterpret as "acting like people") because the owners treat them like they`re cats. You people sicken me.
"
Jesus christ dude, chill. I`m sorry my dog wasn`t born a giant.

So right. I have nothing against small dogs but when people treat them like Barbie dogs...that`s insane.

What on earth does the announcer have to praddle on about for the entire length of the clip? It`s a dog sitting in a tub. That took, what... 2.5 seconds to explain.

@iLove
Both. The dogs are bad enough with their selectively bred deformities and made much worse by the upbringing typically given by the type of person that would own a small dog. Both the dog and the person contribute to the problem.

@Fuego... All the flavor is in the fur and you have to follow the recipe for consistent results.

Looks like a Poodle. Instinctively they are still Hunting dogs born to go into the water. Too bad we bred them down to be made up Barbie dogs.
