The republicans have tunnel-vision & are acting like bratty jerks. I`m so tired of ALL the BS from all parties---but I can`t stay and rant because I have to go to drating work now.

It`s funny - when the teabagger/Republicans try to do satire, they come across as bigger idiots than their victims.

Those are the issues that Obama and Democrats are using time in trying to hurdle. Republicans in the House and Senate vastly oppose most of the measures that are being introduced without adding much input.

Even then, there is a lot that even Obama and the government can`t fix.

People need jobs and a lot of the private sector is still sitting on its thumbs unsure of the future and that`s dragging a lot of people either financially and/or psychologically down.

I never expected Obama to fix all the things wrong with the country, and I wouldn`t have expected McCain to do it either.

Most people just have unrealistic expectations for what he can/can`t do in a term without support from both parties.

Uh, you need 60 votes in the Senate to end a filibuster. There are 59 Democrats in the Senate.

And as stated in my last post which I can only assume you missed, Obama is still trying to gain support and input from Republicans on these issues, that`s what`s keeping him from passing the stuff he wants.

He`s trying to do this mainly to try to get the parties to be less divided when these issues that they will be voting on impact all.

And Obama doesn`t really start and end the laws, he can`t just say he wants something and it happens, it has to be voted on in the house, senate, then he can sign it into law.

Look at the Health care bill, 219 to 212, not a single Republican supported the bill, and 34 Dems against, in the Senate it was 60-39, they managed to get the independants on board but all Republicans were against it there too.

Not to be a jerk, but you do realize Obama could have passed anything he wanted. At no point did he need Republican support, if you look at the numbers. The Democrats hold enough seats in both houses to pass anything without Republican support.

But they haven`t. Why? Because there are Democrats who are obviously not signing on to tow the "company line".

That`s one argument I keep hearing... however, there is no need for bipartisan, by the numbers. Unless of course not all of the Democrats are on the same page.

Also, a big portion of where Obama has failed in getting things done is his interest in making decisions in the Senate and House with bipartisan efforts.

Republicans want nothing to do with Obama no matter what the cause is, and continuing to try to vie for their support is wasting valuable time during this recession where public support is waning among both parties.

It`s good to have the support and to brainstorm ways to improve our fragile state, but the sides are so divided it wouldn`t surprise me if Obama pushed for less gun laws, opposing that Mosque in NYC, or raising taxes on the poor and dropping them for the rich, they`d still oppose it.

I don`t think you actually know what the word `literally` means.

http://www.politifact.com/

Also, if you`re not going to vote, then no one really cares what your opinion is. Voting is your right to make decisions on important laws, amendments, bills, etc. that can and will change your life. If you see the parties as just Dem or Rep then you`re not helping any independent candidates that you may prefer to vote for.

Do all politicians lie? Sure probably, but so does everyone, but the least you should do is find a candidate to believe in or that supports the same ideals you do. Otherwise if you`re going to bitch about a candidate but not the audacity to vote then you should keep yourself out of any political and government discussions since you don`t care enough to voice your opinion.

it shouldnt be hard at all actually. every single one of them have potential to make a difference, but nobody ever wants to work together to actually get there. the senators are they ones you need to blame, they cause the most trouble, and waste the most time. People forget that there are three branches, and each of them decide how we live. blame should never go to just one place unless there is a special circumstance.

that said i dont like obama, ive already seen many seniors being crushed by his obama care thing..already...and that was supposed to help them not make thier prescriptions more expensive and harder to obtain.

:/ that`s an awful billboard. I don`t know whether or not Obama is a bad president, since I don`t know much about what`s going on politically in America, but I can imagine it`d be hard for anyone to clean up after Bush...and especially in the American political climate. Seems like not much gets done. Though, in Canada, even less gets done. :P

Dont even try to bring racism into this. Obama is a poo president most people don`t realize this because of what a terrible job Bush did during the end of his 2nd term. I`m not just saying this because Obama is 50% black, 50% white, and 50% Hawaiian.

Oh and for the record I`m no racist, but most black people that claim that you`re being racist are actually racist themselves.

Pathetic.

Democracy is not only defined as the right of individuals to cast votes, but on the ability of individuals to make choices in their self interests based on candidate choice and on the individuals having a clear view of what their choices will mean for them. People who have a completely skewed view of reality and in essence can no longer vote for their self interest (tea party) are leading America away from Democracy. 20% of Americans actually think Obama is a Muslim, a large portion think that he was born outside of the country. Extremists and people living outside of society are to be expected, but what does it mean when a significant portion of the population is completely out of touch with reality. America, I don`t think you can still call yourself a bastion of Democratic values...

"obama drawn like a monkey
thats racist
bush drawn like a monkey
there is nothing wrong here..."

It`s racist because when people drew Bush as a monkey they were insulting his intelligence.
With Obama people aren`t insulting his intelligence but because he is African American. People believe he was born in Africa too which is why it is truly racist.

i`ve never seen so much hate geared towards a president. fact is, it all boils down to racism, racism, racism. no matter how much republicans try and deny it, it`s true. they are a hateful group of people only looking after wealthy, white interests. pisses me off. Dems are no better at governing but at least they aren`t full of hate and racism.

Zeofar - If you don`t get why comparing a black person to a monkey is insulting then you really are an idiot..

Many racist comparisons and insults in general are originally words or objects that are not intrinsically offensive. Context I guess is the key! If the intent of its use is clear then yes, it is racist.

@intrigid Okay, so if implying someone is a monkey is insulting, why does race have anything to do with it? Because certainly, if being a monkey were not insulting to begin with, why would it be denigrating to black people?
