They should have turned 100 dogs loose to `round up` the cats. Now, that would have been a sight.

@Gleeballs

I`m pretty sure it was to use the footage for commercials. Also, because why the drat not?

Some of the shots were cool but seriously, some of the cats could have killed eachother or been badly injured and I`m sure it was pretty stressful for them although I don`t worry about that aspect as much. I hope to god they did a health screening and they all got their vaccines.

I personally wouldn`t have volunteered my cat for this. But it`s funny to think someone is going to buy a rug or chair that a cat pooed on and they will never know!!!

Woulda been better if they`d let in 100 dogs. More destructive, but more interesting too.

It wasn`t an experiment, it was to make an IKEA commercial, which is shown at the end. Cute, though. ^^

Omg, I love that little hairless one! I`m not really a cat person, but I think I just might get one of those.

But I didn`t think that was a very good idea. They may have vacuumed afterward, but that`s still a little dangerous for people with allergies.

it`d be better if they put 50 dogs and 50 cats in.

"a random ass cat running around will not make you flair up"

If that random ass cat lies on a couch for even afew moments and a severely allergic person sits on it after, it will make them flare up.

Same for them just running around. Dander can become airborne.

That said, I think this is awesome. I`m mildly allergic to cats (still have one anyway, seem to have gotten some kind of immunity to him over the last 13 odd years of having him) but would love to let them all loose in my house for a day :-)

Davymid, I`m more surprised by the whole Dutch involvement thing.

But more importantly, kitties!! I wish I had been there. I almost teared up at the end there. Are people seriously not getting the "point" of this? It`s called advertising.

Fun IKEA fact: Despite being the world`s largest furniture retailer with a revenue fo around $30 Billion a year, they`re actually controlled by a tax-exempt, not-for-profit Dutch foundation.

You read that right, IKEA is a charity and therefore doesn`t have to pay tax. Not even making that up.

I`m glad they didn`t try to hide the fact that it`s a promotional video. But yeah, this was actually pretty good.

Not an experiment advertising how homely and comfy ikea is....

@pmarren they were cleaning every part of the store the cats were let into. No more chance or getting reaction then commonly travelling around anyway. Man up or shut up
