Spray-on clothing: not a chance.

Spray-on bandages: could potentially be a very good idea. Only problem I can see is compression. The pressure applied when a bandage is tightly bound around an injury is important to stop the bleeding. Unless you can make a fabric that would contract as it solidified or something, the benefits would be limited.

I`m sure spray on clothing would be a hit among the 300 pounders. You`d need an oil drum full of spray to make a tank top.

Hold up.

It can be dissolved with the same solvent?

So it`s an item of clothing that could never, in a million years, become a regular item to wear, nor could you let others know you are wearing it. Just let some jackass know and you`ll wind up with a stack of the solvent thrown at you, and where you were previously walking down the street with a t-shirt and shorts in the summer, you`re now in your underwear (or butt naked if you prefer to go commando) trying to hide.

Perhaps not the greatest item I`ve ever heard of.

This puts us one step closer to my dream of a Jetson-like morning where you are gently slid out of bed, into an automatic bathing machine, blown dry with hot air fans, your clothes are sprayed on and a robot hands you a cup of coffee.

alright, so the need here that the inventors are looking to satisfy, you are on ur way to work, ur on the bus, sipping ur coffee, reading the sports page and u realize "drat!" ur butt naked, somehow between brushing ur teeth and signing ur kid`s permission slip u never got around to getting dressed, luckily u always keep a can of silly string er spray on clothing in ur briefcase, boom u spray urself down in business suit grey and get to work just in time for that big meeting "Good work Johnson, and hey, nice suit."...MISSION ACCOMPLISHED...

juggalette. that is like liquid bandage. it does not make an actual bandage like we think of, just the wierd plastic sealant stuff that burns like all hell and cannot have medications or any other additive fixed into it. he is talking about spraying on a cloth bandage that can be fixed to have medications already in it.
shalantas. they tried to do that. they made it before, and the story i intially read this from said most males did not want to put thier junk in a whirring machine, and most women siad it immediatly turned them off...so no one would use it. i thought it was practical, but, people will be people.

I would never use this product instead of buying clothes.... and neither should you!

actually pretty cool. And I see it becoming more popular for medical use rather than actual clothing. Taking it to the next step - something a little more permanent for spray on skin grafs.

Actually as clothing this seems really stupid, but when he started talking about for medical use. Yes I could actually see this being a useful way to make bandages.

Yeah, because putting on clothes takes SO long, it`s much easier to stand there for like 10 minutes to have your clothes sprayed on.

At least you could make socks that fit, though.

This is actually a pretty clever idea.

Maybe not so for the clothing aspect, but what he said about bandages sounds like it would be very useful.

Futurama, season 4, episode 1 - The Roswell that Ends Well, around 7:00 mark, all-purpose spray can. I`m not the only one who immediately thought that after reading the title, right?

"`can be dissolved with the same solvent`

get a bunch of good looking women bunched together...toss a water balloon... hilarity ensues. "

same solvent is NOT water, its that other stuff he mentioned and i cant be arsed to re-watch to type it here.

still, we will find out how to easily obtain it and use it.

"Wow. Another useless invention. Using this would not only result in a new shirt but also new clothing for your bed, chest of drawers, carpet and any other furniture or animals that happen to be in the general vicinity."

and you sir, are a drating moron,. i hope you die in a situation where this stuff in the form of healing bandages(combine it with other materials) could have saved your life.

what about spraying over body hair?

When you remove spray-on pants does it give you a free wax?

"You know....It`s quicker to just put a T-shirt on?"

True - but like the video said - the material can be washed and re-worn, so you get a custom garment that`s fitted. Pretty ingenious, really.

If a woman wanted a dress, she could wear some sort of mesh skirt thing at her waits, have a perfectly form-fitted top, and the dress bottom, designed with colors and shapes otherwise difficult to accomplish without expensive tailoring or fitting processes.

I was thinking something along those lines. Just what we need. A way to force a woman to be naked from the bushes. If nothing else, this alone will stop it from going to market. (rightfully so!)
