No way, I just read an article about this in Wheels in the doctor`s office yesterday. Ken Block is a millionaire who made all his money off t-shirt designs and DC shoes, who randomly decided to buy top-end rally cars and play with them in the least likely places. As of January this year he didn`t want to go to Europe for rally because a) There`s not as much advertising potential in America, and b) he couldn`t take his favourite WRX with him.

I totally submitted this one :P

Loved the video, it`s like..I never knew they had courses like this in real life, or driving ability. I always thought it was restricted to a game like DiRT, haha.

Even more insane was Group B, a bloody dangerous idea in the mid 1980s. They created an unrestricted group and utterly under-estimated what car engineers could do with a blank slate. It ended up with rally cars more powerful than F1 cars, cars that could do 0-60 in 2.1s on a gravel track. With 1980s suspension, brakes, etc.

Ah, the glorious noise!

For the top stuff in driving, try watching WRC. Mental stuff - 130mph+ on single lane tracks in the rain at night and corners by the dozen. Ken Block`s having a go at WRC and doing well for a rookie. I think he`ll be a serious contender in a few years.

Sebastian Loeb, the best today.
I figured there was no way I was going to watch a guy drive, for 7 minutes. Then I watched it twice!
Gymkhana 1 and Gymkhana 2 are equally worth watching. Not 3.1 though - that`s a music video advertising shoes, which is also what these Gymkhana videos are for. If all adverts were this good, I might watch more TV.
jesus that gear box can take a beating.

getting 650hp from a 4cylinder 2L engine. thats a heck of a lot of boost. that engine isnt going to last poo.
It`s actually engineered for 800hp. He has it detuned a bit to get a better trade-off between performance and handling.

The people who made(*) that car are as impressive in their field as Ken Block is at gymkhana.

* I say "made" rather than "modded" because I doubt if any of the car is original. It`s been changed more than Red Victor 2.

The owner of the Segway company died yesterday. I find this video offensive to his memory.

"you can really see the amazing acceleration this thing has"

Hahaha, that thing isn`t any more a Ford Fiesta than a Studebaker is a Space Shuttle. 650HP might have something to do with that 0-60 in 1.9. Why did they choose a Fiesta? Marketing. Because morons think this car might in some way, shape or form resemble the $14,000 car you`d buy from the dealer. This car is RWD for goodness sake. The fiesta portion of this car is nothing more than the body which I am sure even was heavily modified to fit in a totally different chassis, suspension and everything else.

That being said. I would trust Ken Block to perform open heart surgery on my with a scalpel attached to the hood of his car.

Ken Block is a beast. Didn`t he roll an STi off a ramp really badly at the x-games some years back? If so - apparently, it didn`t slow him down any.

Either way - this is an amazing demonstration of skill.

ok unless the WRX sti in the infomercial is street legal, (judging from the sound I`m not sure) the Fiesta puts it to shame. you can really see the amazing acceleration this thing has. Why fiesta? anyone know?

kaagan are you sure thats the size motor it is? that car must be a feather, like 1000 lbs, to it to get to 60 in 1.9 s. most amazing driving I`ve ever seen. I`d drive that fiesta.
