Something fantastically great about making jokes at the death of a comic.

I think Greg Giraldo would have thought this was the best way to keep his memory alive.

It`s all to lighten the mood, I`m sure. Especially if they`re comedians. That`s just what they do. Try to make things a little less tragic.

NOthing wrong here3, I think Greg would have been disappointed if someone hadn`t done something like this.

Greg Giraldo was an amazin comic and was friends with Gilbert Gottfriend. No harm done. Even the family in this time would laugh because Greg would have said the same thing. Its not like there were never any family tradgedys whan Greg was alive and you know he had something to say then.

haha I saw this yesterday.

He`s a fellow roaster, there`s nothing wrong with his tweet. Greg would have probably came up with something like this had it been a different roaster.

I think the jokes was fitting, but at the same time I can`t help but feel coldness when I look into Gottfried`s eyes after reading his cold comment... hmm

It`s not very respectful to his family that had to decide to take him off life-support, but I highly doubt Giraldo himself would have minded? >>;

I almost think this is how Greg would have wanted it...

I for one will really miss his unique delivery and razor blade dipped in mercury lethal humor.

@freddy - as opposed to all the non-celeb drug overdoses? Nah they`re laugh a minute.
He`s a celeb, I assume, so am I right to guess drug overdose?
Yes it was an overdose. He was a comic and was pretty good. He was also a lawyer who graduated from Harvard, so he was wickedly smart. It was really sad, of course all of the celeb overdoses are sad.

Best part was Gilbert`s next line when the reporter asked him if it wasn`t too soon to be making a joke he said "Don`t think it will hurt Greg`s feelings - besides, it`s not like he is going to call me any time soon."

Making a good joke about the passing of a comedian is basically mandatory.

"Is it bad i read that in his annoying ass voice?"

Man, I had his voice read the whole thing in my head, it just added to the laughter, and then saw your comment... made it even funnier.

""Hey! This guy was the horse Peter had when he went to Texas!"

And THAT`S how you know him? Christ, there`s no hope for our generation..."

He was uh... the voice of Iago from Disney`s Aladdin?

Apparently this is how I hear about Greg Giraldo dying...

And Gottfried (or Gott Friend as the title spelled it) is right on cue. This is probably the MOST appropriate way to respond to this. When I die I don`t want anyone crying, I want them telling jokes even if they are at my expense.

@Aeladil: Precisely. If anything, Greg`s laughing his ass off from wherever drug-addicted comics go when they die. Say hi to Mitch Hedberg for me!

*sigh* Comedians have almost a responsibility to make jokes "too soon". Watch the funeral of Graham Chapman for evidence.

Gilbert Gottfried never stops being a comedian. 2 days after 9/11 he told a joke onstage that went "Sorry I`m late, my plane had to take a stop into the Empire States Building". Nothing is "too soon" for him.

on another note....it`s always the comedians that hurt the most....

when everyone expects you to be funny all the time...they despise when you`re serious...and thus...your feelings go unheard
