PTPete, this may amaze you but some people have passion for what they believe in, and if they were passionate in life why would they be humble in death? I see no homophobia in the epitaph, just an expression of injustice. But as homophobia is defined, you fit the bill.

It`s really funny that some guys think 2 women kissing is hot (and that they`re doing it for their benefit), but the thought of 2 men doing the same thing turns them into butt-clenching, witch-burning puritains!

The epitaph is hokey & probably fake. Homophobia, however, is tiresome & played-out. Tombstone, FTW. The US WAS settled by Puritans, & that probably still has a bit to do with our tendancy, as a nation, to be sexually repressed & intolerant.

Why the hell do people care so much about others sexuality? If a guy likes guys instead of girls what do you care? Its not affecting you, so its not your problem.

right because gays are sexually starved beasts and anytime they see dick they go buck wild and cant contain themselves.... seriously some of you guys need to stop flattering yallselves just cause yall think yall are attractive doesnt mean you actually are or that a gay would even give you the time of day.

if i can take a shower with women, then i will allow gay men to shower with other men. this is the essense of this debate. gays love dick, and thus will be staring at it in the showers. noone lieks to be a sexual object while u just trying to get clean.

@PoopNoodle: Why do straight people have to go around telling everybody about their sexual preferences anyway? All the straight jokes/comments, including "I`d drat her in the ass", make my gay friends as uncomfortable as gay jokes do you.

@DuckBoy: By your reasoning we should castrate (nearly) all men because many women don`t want to be oogled, but (nearly) all men oogle them anyway without asking or caring for their preferences.

Personally, I support the DADT thing. Why do gay people have to go around telling everybody about their sexual preferences anyway? If I liked to wrap myself in Saran Wrap, roll around in a tub of Grape Nuts and be called Polly during sex, I wouldn`t go around blabbing to everyone about it.
What consenting adults do in private is no one`s business.

I don`t care if a gay man represents my country, but I support DADT. If you serve the military do your job, don`t be eyeballing others because most likely they don`t want to be eyeballed. And just the same, the sergeants aren`t going out to directly find the gays. The only gays who get caught are being frisky with others, or are men trying to escape the military

"Don`t Ask, Don`t Tell" is bullpoo. In 2003, my boyfriend at the time joined the army. They asked him flat out, when he joined. It was in the paperwork. Small southern town, though. Maybe it was old paperwork and they figured that the people there wouldn`t care?

Don`t ask don`t tell is a wonderful system. I don`t want to know If you`re eying me in the shower, and you don`t want me to bitch about you being gay.
If a gay says that gays should be able to be open while in the military and this system is oppressive, then their just trying to get attention.

so stop being jealous that we get a lot more action than you do.

LOVE the fact that if a straight guy gets around with allot of people... he`s a stud. If a woman does it, or a gay man does it, then that is something else, something shameful. Regardless of the disease, he served his time, and did what allot of us can`t or won`t do. Hats off to him.

I can`t believe in this day and age we`re still arguing about whether or not being gay is right or wrong or whether or not they should serve in the military etc.

If you`re American you should believe in freedom for all, and limiting someone`s rights because of sexual preference is unconstitutional.

If ANYONE no matter their sexual preference or gender, would like to put their life on the line so I can live the standard of life I have now...Well, I deeply appreciate it.

Big thank you to servicemen/women.

@CrakrJak Who cares how he got aids? Who cares if he was promiscuous? It does not matter. THIS MAN RISKED HIS LIFE FOR YOU AND THE COUNTRY YOU LOVE. If this soldier had been straight and had died of aids would it matter to anyone? No. Would it matter any more if it was the result of being promiscuous? No. Would anyone insist that everyone must know "the truth" that he had, indeed, died of aids, especially while looking at his grave? Of course not because that is disgustingly disrespectful. You are pointing out that he died of aids like we should care. As if we should think less of him for that. You are making out like all his bravery and service to your country counts for nothing simply because he is gay. You are looking at a photo of an American soldier`s tombstone, a real hero, and all you care to say about the life he lived is "He died of Aids". You are spitting in the face of someone who went to war for you. Leonard Matlovich is twice the man you`ll ever be.

He wasn`t a drug-user, In fact he was a drug abuse counselor in the Air force. There is no mention of any of his partners dying of Hiv/Aids, Perhaps the person he got it from was still in the closet, Who knows. Either way, It was risky behavior that did him in.

Nice job going all out and insulting the character and integrity of a man you barely know the basics about.

How do you know he didn`t get it from his ONE partner? It happens, in case you didn`t know.

Of course IV drug use contributes too. Risky behavior means `Risk` is involved, If we are to really tackle the spread of aids, It would be foolish to not address the risky behaviors associated with it. Wouldn`t you agree ?

Yeah, it`s a gay magazine, I get it - it`s still wrong. In my experience, yes, gays, or at least gay men, are a little more likely to sleep around - but the exact opposite can be said for some gays, and most have a comparable sex life to anyone else.
HIV spreads more easily in the gay community because the walls of the anus are thin, and can break easily, making the transmission of the illness more likely - NOT BECAUSE GAY PEOPLE ARE HORNY ALL THE TIME. IT DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT.

@Oystah You`d be surprised sometimes, haha. I`ve see a rather butch, normally manly-man gay guy decide to put on a dress, and then got ridiculed for it by some little wannabe-gangsters. So he took off his stilettos, and chased them with it held over his head.

It was kinda like seeing 50 Cent in a wig and roostertail dress, haha. But, to top off the football and the muscles and the apparently violent impulses, he`s mostly a bottom.

Though all the same, most of us, top or bottom, won`t bother hitting on straight guys unless they`re being annoying and we`re trying to make them uncomfortable. It`s a waste of time. We may find them attractive, yes, but that doesn`t mean we`ll act on it any more than most straight men will go after every single girl he finds attractive.

"Conclusion

It needs be said that we are not asserting that all, or even a majority, of gays partake of the above practices. Indeed, as the study indicates, many such practices are condemned by many gays - but also openly praised by many. If public opinion felt that all gays so partook, it was indeed in error. However, what The Gay Report clearly indicates is that the above practices are significant problems in the gay subculture, with numbers and percentages alarmingly higher than the mainstream."

I live in Canada. Where it counts, our military has kicked an equivalent amount of ass to the US military, and our soldiers serve openly. If someone`s willing to pick up a weapon and defend your way of life, why should you care what they do in the bedroom? Why not ban all hetero leather-fetishists or something, too?

Correction, N-Vet, you are kicked out if they hear anything about you being homosexual. If a reliable source reports it, whether they have proof or not, they kick you out. You can`t talk about past relationships. You can`t talk about `maybe` being gay. You have to be a completely different person. It doesn`t have anything to do with the act of sex.

Yeah, I`d say the real problem with DADT is that even if a gay man doesn`t tell anyone and is outed by word of mouth or something, he is discharged from the military. Someone should not be discharged simply because of their sexual preference. That is a perfectly good soldier you`re tossing away.
