The dude owned Two Corgi`s.

I think I could take a corgi WITHOUT SWAT armor... with it- I`m pretty sure it would be a nonentity.

I saw this on the Alex Jones channel. They stormed his house for apparently having drugs. But he didn`t but they use as an excuse to burst down your door without reason. America`s freaky maaaan

Somewhat agree with o0wildcard0o but this was a failure and someone needs to pay restitution for the man`s losses as well as the damage to the family. My guess is the DA that served up the Warrant needs to be thinking hard about where they want to work after something like this... or at least it should be that way. it`s not always.

You people are pathetic. Have you ever thought of what its like in a cops point of view? Swat team gets the order of a suspected drug trafficker. Drug dealers usually always are armed and no one wants to serve jail time. Swat breaks into house, checks their points and moves to apprehend suspect. Dog starts barking, noone knows if dog is violent or will take the owner being arrested as a threat and attack. Im not saying it was right of them to shoot the dog, but swat knows how dangerous their job is and how easily one of them can be killed. Although their job is to protect people, some may not do it as well as others. Without Law enforcement, there wouldnt be anyone there to prevent widespread anarchy. That being said, i know there is a person reading this who will be absolutely infuriated with me and for some reason that person will encourage it. I wonder though, what good could possibly come from tearing down the state? Please insert ridiculous, uneducated, comment here.

can`t believe so many people here are swinging on the cops nutsacks. if yall think having weed in the house is dangerous with kids, you might as well pour out all the beer and booze in your fridge. no? then shut up about the weed. the cops are wrong here and thats the bottom line. no excuses.

It`s sad that it`s illegal to kill the person that caused that dog`s death and probably scarred that child for life. I realize the swat team probably thought they were being attacked but whoever screwed up and sent them should be put down.

@BigMordecai > Nope.

No one should "stfu" because this is intolerable tyranny- and we do not need to be quiet about it-- it is hardly an isolated incident. It is not the worst, but it is typical. This merely adds to outrage. Be outraged-- it means you are a human.

Columbia Missouri isn`t even suburbia. It`s a small college town. Based on the look of his house it wasn`t even in the area of dangerous activities. The most violent things that probably happens where he`s at would be beer pong and the occasional scuffle.

drating disgusting.

I won`t poo on the SWAT teams dicks, they`re a legitimate tool in law enforcement. However, whomever ordered that SWAT carryout this warrant is a moron. All you need is several armed cops and a detective or so. You do not need paramiltary enforcers in Suburban Missouri, breaking down a door in the middle of the night unless you have massive amounts of evidence about a potentially violent suspect.

Based on the evidence that they uncovered there was no sting, there was no undercover affirmation of this suspects status as a drug dealer, or an organized crime member.

A loved memeber of someones family painted their home with their own blood for a dimebag and a pipe with resin. The only bigger bullpoo I can imagine is a prostitute getting gunned down because she was humping a John when the police broke into her apartment and they thought she was reaching for a gun.

The war on drugs is bullpoo.

Ok everyone yelling at the swat team stfu. Seriously its not their fault, they are sent into areas which are dangerous by definition. If something becomes violent or dangerous it is to be suppressed. Period. This is the poo just got real team used for when a policeman would be shot and killed. There use was entirely inappropriate though. This poo happens when you send in a paramilitary force for marijuana. This was a huge problem and entirely wrong, but seriously people now have been sending the department death threats over a situation where someone didn`t actually get hurt while brutality and other worse mistakes are made everywhere.

"does anyone know if the dog died? =/ the barking stopped, so i assume so, but....."

First shot = Only injured the dog that was startled when people barged in, in the middle of the night.

Second, 3rd, 4th and 5th probably killed the dog.

It`s naive to think that women aren`t concerned about it, I completely 100% agree. But I didn`t say that now did I? I said OFFENDED. Let me clarify myself - this OFFENDS me that someone would burst into my home, shoot my dog, point guns at my wife and child, while I`m held against a wall helpless. I believe my point of view is shared with most guys in here on the whole, where as more women are posting there concerns about the dogs only.

lol

Oh wait, does that lol make me ignorant as well? Now if you would, go make me a sammich.

If I were a police officer and a dog (or any animal) lunged at me, I would probably shoot it as well.

Than being said, the department really needs to review their policies and consider a full-time SWAT team instead of relying on part-time officers to carry out the duties. They also need to confirm their sources and not rely solely on the word of another person that is awaiting conviction. They probably should have done an investigation, or at the least done an undercover buy. From what I have been reading, they didn`t do any of this.

It`s unfortunate, but I don`t really think the officers acted maliciously...they were carrying out a search warrant, they were doing their job.

Honestly, the part where I was living in Atlanta I bought two pitbulls for a reason. I had two of my friends hog tied in a 6 month period IN THEIR OWN APARTMENT, and two other people were shot and killed in my apartment complex. Who would want to barge into my apartment with two `scary` looking pitbulls roaming around? (This is a `nicer` part of atlanta, which for anyone that wants to live where they`re not afraid of getting shot daily shouldn`t move to atlanta and its suburbs. North East atlanta is the drug capital of the U.S. now. ... yay...

I know a whole swat team that would be on my list. They get civilian time to just a matter of finding out who they are and following them home. Take them out on the walk from the car to the house or the store. I am sure no one would miss their corruption, and it would make this world a safer place. This is the reason I do not feel any sympathy for dead cops.

I think we can still say f the police.

If you can`t tell the difference between a dangerous animal and a family pet - if you can`t tell by looking around that that house was not the home of dangerous people - but a normal family - if you are that ruled by testosterone and adrenalin and have no god given intelligence or intuition - you should not have a gun. you should not have the power to kick in someones door, you should not have the power to kill things. Yeah, the judge is f`d up too, but he`s not the one with the gun. how can cops have so much power, and no accountability ... it`s a bad combination.

auburn, did you bother reading the article I posted? The judge made a mistake, as people do, expecting a large quantity of drugs to be present in the house, and there simply weren`t any. Because a misinformed person of questionable integrity gave the police false information. The judge should NOT have written that warrant.

Like I said auburn they had enough men to keep those animals contained without hurting them, if only that was their first instinct. They didn`t even seem motivated to kill the other dog.

Why did a judge issue a warrant then? For the 50th time.....

We don`t know everything.

@isafan:

I don`t think that at that moment, during the time of entry, before the house was swept, they would have let the mom, or the kids run around the house after the dog.

Like I said before. The dogs being shot = wrong and terrible.

The cops = doing their jobs. Period.

They take warrant. Serve it. I`m sure that police protocol says to put down (potentially dangerous, as far as they know) animals that are loose when sweeping a house during a raid. They didn`t write that part of the handbook.

Point is, let`s not say F the police. Let`s say why did the judge sign the damn warrant, and Damn it sucks that Spuds died.

Auburn, I`m sure your dad sped once or twice - how`d you feel if his car was taken away? At the end of the day it`s only a car, and your dad shouldn`t have sped in the first place right?

It may have been just as essential for the family. It could have been the kids best friend that he played with after school every day, and kept in his room at night while daddy wasn`t around to keep the big bad `night` monsters away. *personal experience*

I can`t see into a dogs mind that`s dead, just like I can`t see into a persons mind when they`re dead. What I do know is this, dogs will bark - just like we talk. So, that dog might have been saying, "YO! SUP! OMG LEZ PLAYZ!!!!" and then BAM. Dead. I will say this though, dogs are innocent. They like to be loved, and the dog MORE THAN LIKELY didn`t see big mean police officers - just normal people, normal people that may pet and rub her belly.

But you`re right, we will never know. All because instead of thin

Okay. So you can see into the mind of a dog that is no longer alive.

I heard the dog bark for a good 2 to 3 seconds, loudly, before they shot it. More than enough time to determine intent, and make a judgment call.

At the end of the day, and it pains me to say this because I love them, but it`s a dog.

Daddy shouldn`t have been breaking the law. If he hadn`t, the kids would be outside playing with rover tomorrow.

Question: Do Pit Bulls have a 1600 PSI bite pressure?

Answer:Dr. Brady Barr of National Geographic (Dangerous Encounters: Bite Force, 8pm est 8/18/2005) – Dr. Barr measured bite forces of many different creatures. Domestic dogs were included in the test.

Here are the results of all of the animals tested:

Humans: 120 pounds of bite pressure
Domestic dogs: 320 LBS of pressure on avg. A German Shepard, American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) and Rottweiler were tested using a bite sleeve equipped with a specialized computer instrument. The APBT had the least amount of pressure of the 3 dogs tested.
Wild dogs: 310 lbs
Lions: 600 lbs
White sharks: 600 lbs
Hyenas: 1000 lbs
Snapping turtles: 1000 lbs
Crocodiles: 2500 lbs

I think this "700 lbs" is bull. I have not done the testing though, so I can`t say for 100%.

So, I`d like to get this straight as you are/have been in the Military - In Baghdad were we able to fire upon locals that looked like a threat? Or did you have to wait until fired upon? Fired upon, correct? So... what`s the difference? They gave the people inside NO opportunity to take control of the animal. They came in with guns blazing. That`s not acceptable for our military, nor should it be acceptable for our police back home. We do NOT put innocents lives in danger, even to `save our own skin.`

I`m not saying that isafan. I`ve owned one before.

I know they do have a bite that`s about 700lbs psi, and they, as all dogs are, are very territorial.

If it had lived, and lashed out in anger, or fear, or protecting its master, one of these cops would have lost a calf muscle, or a forearm. (SWAT gear does not = full body riot gear)

Worst case scenario, cop is not on guard, and the dog gets his face, or neck.

Once again. Pits are NOT human killers, but are more than capable of killing a human in a blink of an eye if provoked, threatened.

Furthermore this man did not even have enough narcotics in his house to constitute this search.
That [was] the dad`s fault.
Oh please, so many drug dealers are arrested on the street in the midst of the ACT. Not in the house with wife and child(ren) present.

Now if they kicked the dog to get it to shutup I wouldn`t complain very much. They had enough men to occupy every room in the house enough to keep those `threats` contained and monitored.

They weren`t just dealing with a convicted felon they were dealing family with CHILDREN (bear with me). You are NOT supposed to harm bystanders in any way.

As CrakrJak mentioned:
As the dog ran away, the officers pursued it from the front door into the kitchen, firing their assault weapons at the dog
You`re right CrakrJak it was TERRIFIED, and clearly did not want (or deserved) to get shot. They could`ve corraled the pets out of the house. If it was an attack dog I wouldn`t sympathize. It`s not just the pets we`re worried about it`s the wife and child as well. They wake up to someone bashing in their front door and then not too long after guns going off. Then the child watches as his dad walks in handcuffs.

Sounds like three things in your childhood you`d like to forget but will need therapy because of.

"In the end, every life has meaning, even that of a dog."

Sorry. I`m a dog person. Love `em to death.....

It`s a dog. Not a human. 13,000 miles west of here they would be dinner.

Pit Bull, as much as I hate to say it = shot in the face.

Here`s a scenario. Cops bust in. Dog barks (he did bark, viciously), but the cops do not shoot it. They have no dog suppression equipment, and if they maced it, the fumes would have injured everyone in the house. (You should never discharge anti personnel spray indoors. Ever.)

So, they let the dog roam. The SECOND they touched the perp to arrest him (which they did. Mirandized = arrested) that dog MORE THAN IS SAFE TO ASSUME, would have torn pooe up to defend the alpha male in the room (to the dog). One of the cop would have lost a face, or neck. (They had normal SWAT gear. Not ANTI RIOT.)

A pit bull can bite up to 700lbs psi. That is a clear and present danger unless the dog is suppressed.

MildCorma,

While I see your logic makes sense to the individual swat team member, who in considering his life is greater than that of this home owning citizen, you do not have to be so rude. Some people are deeply attached to dogs and the death of one, no matter the circumstances, carries the same emotional weight as if a baby had been fed to a crocodile.

In the end, every life has meaning, even that of a dog. And the only factor people use to determine the worth of a life is their own relationship to that life or the information you are told about that life from another individual.

"@mild corma - but you can do some more investigation. and you dont have to discharge your weapons with a seven year old in the house. The kid could have easily been caught in the crossfire just like that corgy."

SAS and SWAT go through very similar training. In the shooting house (training building where they only use live rounds for realism which has completely interchangeable walls to change scenarios) they famously had maggy thatcher sit in a room with 2 targets whilst they stormed and shot live rounds inches from her. They did the same with Princess Diana, in fact she had to get a new haircut after her hair got set on fire a bit from a bullet shot at the target behind her. They don`t miss their targets.

I think I can clear up a lot of what Mild Corma is saying:
Cops lives are worth more than yours. You are a criminal, not a human being. It`s COPS versus THEM. If shooting everything that moves secures their own safety, THEN SO BE IT. I have to wonder at the people saying "only one dog," as if somehow destroying a kid`s childhood and killing a close companion of someone is perfectly fine. I certainly don`t kill a dog every time one barks at me when I walk into a new house, and I certainly wouldn`t if I was covered from head to toe in body armor and equipment.

That`s the dad`s fault.

If he wasn`t dealing drugs, or whatever he did to get the warrant, he wouldn`t have put his children`s life in danger.

I used to smoke and trip. Stopped when I had kids. It was an unnecessary danger to them.

Taking chances risks lives, taking no chances minimises the risk to everyone, even the crim because he does not have the opportunity to put himself in a situation. So a dog died, oh dear, it`s a clear and present threat to the operation and acquisition of the target so it`s isolated. I`m not saying that these guys were acting on good info, or that the warrant was a good one from a good judge. I`m saying you shouldn`t be angry at the monkey for dancing when told to. These SWAT chaps did their job excellently, they isolated the crim and got him out of there with no casualties and one dead dog. If you have a problem with why they did that then you either don`t know the military or have never been in a situation that requires you think fast or lose your life. I know both. The difference is, a life threat you react to you survive, a life threat you don`t react to you die. You only know it was a life threat when you are dead. You don`t take the chances.

I love how everyone is so upset that this law-breaker had the police pay him a visit and kill the only threat there, a dog (singular) and that`s bad? Jesus, he broke the fooking law and everyones blinded by a -dog- being killed, one dog, killed by people that train to kill dogs that act aggressively when they break and enter. WHAT DID YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN?! That they would calmy go and knock on the door of someone with previous convictions that has a firearm? You -cannot- take the chance, you -cannot- do the nice approach with a guy that is known for dealing and has a gun. You -do not- know how he is going to react, so you take the option that minimises the risk to the officers. SWAT teams get it done. If they had done the softly approach then maybe an officer gets capped or severely wounded. Maybe a kid gets caught in some random gunfire. SWAT get in there, isolate the crim and get him out, no random gunfire, no incidental human casulties.

Just to give this a bit of balance. Whitworth (the man the swat team was after) has a long history of breaking the law. He didn`t seem to concerned about children and animals when he tore up a neighborhood while intoxicated.

I`m not condoning the actions of the SWAT team, but there seems to be a real liberal slant on the `harmlessness` of a little marijuana. Tell that to the people whose cars and neighborhoods he terrorized.

Here is a link with information on Whitworth:

He is not some model citizen that was unfairly targeted by police. This isn’t some petty detail. His past actions show he doesn’t have respect for the lives, well being, and property of others. I’m not saying they did everything perfect in the raid. He brought being raided on himself. His irresponsible actions are what hurt his family. Even if the raid had of went perfectly, it would still have been traumatic to his family.

I didn`t here any barking even after the door got busted in. It doesn`t take half a brain to know that when something is running away or isn`t moving is NOT a distraction or potential threat, ergo ignorable. Also no SWAT officer is going to waste even half a second aiming at a bird.

Any distraction that is a potential threat yes. So if you have a parrot and he flies around, it`ll get shot. It`s not about the parrot being dangerous, it`s about the potential for the distraction to provide enough diversion to the police forces that the target can either get away or pull a gun etc etc. It`s not just the fact a dg might try to bite your balls off, it most likely won`t, but in the process of trying and all the SWAT reacting to the dog being aggressive the crim has got away / got a gun. In a situation where a split second "wtf?!" moment from an animal you did not see can cause you and your mates to get f`ed in the a by some shotgun pellets, you elimate the chance of it happening by removing the distraction.

i`m glad we see sense at least...

To everyone else: I think what you are missing here is the level of training these SWAT guys go through. They are taught to shoot dogs acting aggressively, not to consider the situation before acting. Fact is if they leave the dog and he gets aggressive that it could be all the distraction the crim needs to grab a pooeing shotgun. There is nothing to consider here, they did their job how they are trained to do it. The guy didn`t have a warrant on him with SWAT because he was a standard drugs user. He got himself into that situation, by breaking whatever law he did, judges have to have evidence of a law being broken to order a warrant, especially one that requires the use of the SWAT. You have to be packing heat and be considered a serious threat to any normal police officer to have the SWAT come after you. He should have thought about this before he broke laws, I have no respect for criminals.

crime reports are in the public record. look it up, the guy was a dealer with more than just Marijuana. He was a convicted felon who had several weapons on the premises. An undercover cop was able to secure a warrant after he was able to buy marijuana and cocaine from this guy. The search retrieved the weapons and a small amount of marijuana. Further investigation found that he kept his stash in public storage and the stuff they found was just for him that night.
As much as I love dogs, the SWAT team was justified in their actions. Dogs can be used as weapons and an officer must defend himself. The fact that the dealer was hiding behind children doesn`t make the officers at fault.

I hate it when people post videos of police doing "horrifying things" and with 5 minutes of research, you can see that they are doing their jobs and they are justified. lern2google

This bullsh*t happens more often than you might think.

In 2008, A SWAT team did a drug raid on a house in Berwyn Heights, Maryland because authorities intercepted a package of marijuana, then allowed it to be delivered so they could burst into the place. They had no idea that the house they raided belonged the mayor of Berwyn Heights, Cheye Calvo. The SWAT team arrested Calvo and his mother-in-law and killed his two dogs. Read more about that here and see Calvo talk about it here.

Countless times the authorities don`t even properly investigate before raiding. They can claim that someone is a narcotics dealer when all that person might have is a small amount for themselves and no eviden

@tyger9575 I don`t know what you carry but for the stuff a SWAT team uses, in order to be allowed to carry it you have to be sprayed with it first. A lot of people don’t carry it because they don’t want to be sprayed with it. Pepper spray is worse than mace. It`s really awful, you don’t want to be spraying that indoors.

The dog can still bite you in an area that the body amour isn’t protecting. Even if you are wearing a full bite suit being attacked by a dog during a raid will stop you from doing your job. That can cost you your life and the life of others.

right: the guy was a felon, had a firearm in the house (illegal for a felon) and he had a bag of drugs (argue all you like about legalizing, as it stands, it is currently illegal on paper, which is the only thing the world`s governments care about by now, lots of paper.)
wrong: shooting the dogs and seating the kids there with guns pointed at them instead of guiding them outside, both are downright stupid and unjustifiable.

but then again, this sort of thing isnt all that uncommon in the US anymore from what i see, the police and gov there are little better than a high tech gang by now. so much for freedom, liberty and justice for all.

I can`t recollect ever watching a video as disturbing as this one. I very much hope this law enforcement get what they deserve. It`s not as though they even gave him very long to answer the door. Had they just waited a minute they could have prevented this horrible scenario.

Does anyone have anymore info about this or a link to an article? I`d really like some more background on this one.

@Lolboy How this kind of stuff happens is like this...

Police departments get huge funding for drug enforcement. Ergo, each department bites at the chance to bust anyone doing/selling drugs. Marijuana is the most actively available illegal drug in the world, and is thus sold generally the most depending on area. In order to justify any drug enforcement section of a police department, they have to make a certain number of busts every year.

But having the numbers isn`t enough. You can get bonus` for having good press about a raid. That is oftentimes why the SWAT record themselves raiding these houses, so it gets on the news and makes them look like they are doing something worth while, and effective.

But marijuana can`t be stopped, or controlled. And the department itself knows that. But it wants its funding anyway. For every bust of a drug dealer, there are another five to take his place.

Now can anyone explain just reason for them shooting those dogs?

Maybe I just don`t know the whole story, but why the drat did they shoot the dog? If its only barking, and not threatening them they should have no right to shoot it.

"You can`t try and claim something is "wrong" or "bad" until you know why. This guy did -something- to have the sodding SWAT knocking at his door. The fact he did something to warrant this means he is to blame for the kids."

Uh well considering the fact that he wasn`t even arrested kind of proves the fact that he wasn`t really doing something to endanger his kids.

I wonder though, did they even send some cops out there to search the place with a warrant or did they just go from accusation straight to SWAT raid.

Apart from the dogs I wonder: How much did that raid cost?

In the end, they scored a joint worth of weed and a pipe (and had to share.)
What became of "the dealer?"

@Jesse702 You`ve missed the point completely.

It isn`t about the police officers. I`m sure they didn`t think they were walking into a home with two nice dogs and kids. Geared up like that? I bet they walked in there thinking someone with a gun was inside, or someone dangerous. It isn`t about the police, and the people arguing against the police are wrong in making it about these officers.

This is about the current law. And the fact that are government chooses to enforce it in this manner.

But pot being illegal makes lots of powerful people, lots of money. So it stays illegal for the benefit of a few, and the rest of society suffers. Suffers from criminals who sell it, and the police who enforce its destruction.

What does a dog do when strangers enter its territory? It barks. Who were these police men to the dog? A stranger. No matter how calm a dog may be, it will bark when a dog intrudes upon its territory. Most policemen should understand this. Also they`re wearing full body-armour designed to protect them from gun shots, it should very well protect them from a dog, who doesn`t even seem aggresive.

Also for the people blasting and being incompetent tools about "If he was a model citizen this wouldn`t have happened.." "It`s his fault..."

You are f#cking morons.

I don`t smoke it myself... but if smoking some weed here and there makes this worthy of having your door kicked down, your family terrorized, your dog shot and killed (with no explanation the whole time of what is happening).. then I hope they bring back the prohibition, catch you drinking, and f#ck your world up as well. Incompetent mindless twats.

These people risk their lives doing their jobs. You never know what exactly you are going to face once you are in someones house. If the dog is barking or coming at them it gets shot. If they don`t have to shot the dog they wont. I remember my dad saying this one guys main concern with getting arrested was what was going to happen to his dog.

Guys... you realize that they sent in SWAT to catch someone with a tiny bit of weed? They brought semi-automatic weapons and shot his pets... they spent government money on this. They spent tax dollars to do THIS.

Yet people here are trying to justify it, like it can be justified. I`m not angry at the cops, they were just doing their job. I`m angry at the lawmakers. Who continue to endorse a law which creates scenes like this.

Even the police department who was responsible for this, apologized (I read about this months ago)and the chief of police condemned marijuana laws.

And the owner isn`t at FAULT. You think that this guy with two kids, a guy who cries over his dogs, is a bad guy? A guy whom a SWAT team needed to take down? If they wanted to arrest him, there are a number of other ways to do this. Whoever ordered that raid is at fault. The DEA is at fault. Congress is at fault. But not that guy.

usually I`m with the police, but this was such a huge disgrace. This really gets me angry. Not only did they perform a raid with a child present(which I understand in some cases is not avoidable), they also didn`t find any substantial amount of drugs. I would expect the police to monitor him and know when he would be loaded with drugs. This was a mistake but this was a HUGE mistake and heads should be rolling for this piece of poo

Goes to show you that all cops are wimpy fags hiding behind the barrel of a gun, it sounded like an ankle biter, a small harmless dog. Probually made them fell `safe` from the mostly harmless dog by shooting it multiple times...And really bad call raiding a family when the dad only smokes a little pot...F*cked up hardcore..

But the dogs weren`t showing any signs of aggression, they were barking in an excited manner. Like any dog would when strangers go in to their house. I`ve had my dog bark at nothing sometimes (or at least some small critter we couldn`t see). What they did was a clear overreaction.

MildCorma is right. My dad is a fed, they are supposed to shoot any dogs. It`s not like they kill family pets for fun. My dad has adopted rescues that no one else wanted. They can`t just stand around and chance getting mauled. They have to do their jobs.

The law suit they`re launching against the police squad, and they very well have a case. The guy didn`t even end up getting arrested for possesion of drugs, merely possesion of drug paraphanelia. They quite clearly have a case, because this was an obvious case of incompetence. Whichever judge thought this guy was a drug lord, but actually was just an average stoner with a normal family and two dogs, was an idiot for not studying the case further, before issuing the warrant for a freaking SWAT squad to break down their door.
@chicoricody one of the dogs died the other one was injured.

I am sorry that the dog was killed in this raid, but it is the owner that is mostly at fault. If he had not engaged in illegal activities then his house would have never been raided in the first place. It is very common for people who sell drugs to have dogs to guard against others (police or other drug dealers) who try to rip them off. Dog bite can become life threatening injuries. Regardless of whether you think a drug should be legal or not is not the issue. If you don`t like something like marijuana being considered illegal, I urge you to contact your congressman. California is voting in November to determine if marijuana will become legal or not.

As much as I ADORE dogs, and hearing the dog`s yelps hurt me, I can`t hate the police for doing it.
I don`t blame the officers here at all actually. It was the judge who issued the warrant who is at fault. If only a small amount of drugs was found, then he/she shouldn`t have issued the warrant without further proof.
Plus, we don`t know what they know about this man. He could have had access to guns, which is why the force was needed.

I don`t know what prompted a judge to issue this warrant, Could`ve been a bad confidential informant or somebody else that got busted that tried to say this guy was his supplier. Whatever the cause, It turned out bad. You don`t break someone`s door down , Shoot their dog, and basically terrorize a family, In a narco raid for `small amount` of pot.

What lawsuit? They have no case, the dogs were a clear and present threat and the SWAT aren`t trained to hold a sodding discussion in the middle of a raid. They are there to get a job done, this guy isn`t being searched because he is a model citizen. If you have the SWAT raiding your house for a warrant you aren`t a standard crim, you are a -serious- threat to society.

How they acted can`t be justified whether they had a warrant or not. This just shows the mentality of the American police. They`re too trigger happy. Sure the British police or the Swiss police use guns, but they`re mainly for show. These guys are armored to the teeth, whether or not the dog was being aggresive, there was no excuse to shoot him. This is generally why police should have gun control seminars, so they don`t end up doing stupid sh*t like this. The behavior of these policemen was despicable and I hope the law suit (which is already well under way) goes to the advantage of the family.

They are trained to shoot the dogs because the dogs are a serious threat. Alot of drug dealers, especially in england, train their dogs to attack. It`s like the SAS getting told off for shooting a terorist with a russian grenade 67 times. They all saw the grenade, and they all reacted to the threat how they were trained: shoot him till hes dead. No time for a "grendade!" shout as by then hes pulled the pin. This instant reaction saved lives, but the media an people that think they know better tried to second guess the situation. Same thing here, these guys are seeing a threat and reacting to it. There is no discussion "DOG!", "is it a good dog?", "well its standing ther.....OW MY FACE!" point made. You can`t try and claim something is "wrong" or "bad" until you know why. This guy did -something- to have the sodding SWAT knocking at his door. The fact he did something to warrant this means he is to blame for the kids

They have a warrant.

If there`s nothing there, it`s the judge that issued it who is at fault.

As for the dog killing, if it bit an officer, or presented a clear and present danger, then they acted appropriately.

Once again, a video of cops doing nothing wrong, and people judging them for it.
