well that was pretty cool, but its would seam to me to be pretty clear that it was not stock at all. that jeep was very heavly modified. but it was still very cool. oh and im an American giving props to Canada so i dont want to hear anything about Americans always bashing Canada. lol

I think the title should be "dismantle and reassemble" a Jeep in less than 4 minutes.
Great job guys!

radoinc: Post a link to these `Rules` you are citing, Otherwise I`m apt to believe you are just pulling them out of your ass.

Actually there are rules for dismantling and assembling. When dismantling you have to start with the whole thing and end up with parts. Assembling is the opposite. The Jeep wasn`t actually assembled neither in the beginning nor at the end.
So yeah, I think they cheated.

radoinc I never said it was a `normal` Willys Jeep, Of course it`s been modified, That`s pretty obvious.

To say that`s `cheating` ? I don`t see how. Do you know of any rules to the sport of Jeep disassembling and rebuilding ? If you find any, Post a link.

@CrakrJak Well, I`m sure about two things: the brakes are removed (btw they ARE hydraulic, just checked) and the cooling system is empty. The design is good, no question about that, but those guys cheated and that kills a lot of their awesomeness.

radoinc: Just because you don`t see it 20+ feet away in a grainy youtube video doesn`t mean they aren`t there. The gas tank, battery, and other non-engine parts are in the body shell of the jeep.

Why do I feel like I`m trying to explain a magic trick here ? There is no magic, Just good design and a well rehearsed crew.

Maybe some cheating.. but. they still drove in, broke it, fixed it, drove out again in less than four minutes.

When I break something it normally stays broke.
Its called refucturing.

@omgzelda can you think of a safer place to stand then in front of some canadian troops?

Sure, walk around in the sand and look for Claymores.

Precisely, like the clips of people taking out the engine of a beetle, putting it back again and driving a few meters in about a minute; they simply lock open the carburettor, they never handle any throttle cables.

Only two lug nuts in each wheel and many other "shortcuts" But still a nice feat.

They actually managed to put and apart and put back together in less than 4 minutes.

And they way they did it was very reminiscent of field stripping a rifle.

"impressive. i think we can all agree that most of us on I-A-B can barely make anything from IKEA without having to start over halfway through"

LOL i was just thinking the same thing!! Insert slot a into slot b. then insert slot c into a. then find out the piece with slot c came broken, so you have to take the damn thing apart and take it back to ikea.

I cant build sh*t.

Also look at the way it stops. They clearly don`t use any brakes. They`re using the engine as a brake.

@CrakrJak
I didn`t see any brake wires or whatsoever. With such brake system wires are external and pretty obvious.
What about the fuel lines and cooling system?

I think they spent weeks modifying the jeep to be able to do that trick.

FauxFox: At the very begining, Do you see the guy messing with wires and such under the hood ?

He is detaching some things called quick connects/disconnects, He is disconnecting the battery, brakes, and steering. Btw, The Jeep is not using hydraulic brakes, It is using a wire like the `emergency brake` on most cars.

Both drive shafts are right there, attached to the differentials (the jeep is 4 wheel drive so there are 2 drive shafts and 2 differentials)

They made the Willy`s jeep to be so simple that it could be worked on and get on its way while in the heat of battle. I doubt this is an actual jeep from the 40s I would like to see how well they could do this on a real jeep. they are missing quite a few things as one poster said the drive shaft and the brake lines.. Unless it doesn`t have brakes lol.

Wait wait, something doesn`t make sense here.

What about the brake lines? What about the drive shaft? I didn`t see any of this.

So many things, no matter the car, have to be in a vehicle before it can be called, a vehicle.

I mean don`t get me wrong, that`s still awesome.

but it still gets to me, how did they drive it away without a driveshaft?

Tiny crowd for a parade. I leave in a small farm town and even our parades have people 4 to 6 deep on both sides.

that`s pretty impressive, those jeeps were actually constructed to be field repairable in a fashion that only a small group of soldiers could fix it in the heat of battle. Now if they could do that to say, a modern day jeep of Humvee in the same amount of time I`d be even more-so impressed.
