It`s no fake, people.

"Body Charged With Static Electricity Powers Lights"

He`s charged with static electricity and he`s touching wires together to power lights.
DURRR. (Don`t take these things so literally)

when the camera moves away from him while he`s doing his thing you can see that his feet aren`t even touching the spinning roll of carpet. He could have at least tried to make it seem convincing.

If you watch closely at the small individual lightbulb at the beginning, its not lighting from the `static charge`, there is a hidden wire (that you cannot see) and when he touches his foot to the spinning fabric, he squeezes the lightbulb. It touches the hidden wire and lights up.

If he faked the beginning, then why believe that any of the rest was real.

@spultra13 It`s entirely possible, however they wouldn`t be able to power the lights, they would however be able to send a command signal to initiate the lights, like flipping a switch.

It`s not just fake, it`s entirely impossible. This is an affront to Maxwell and all who uphold his laws.

The fact that he was using a tape deck made it not-believable...I`m not even going to bother arguing the fact that you could see his feet werent touching

Since we know the brilliant minds who made this read IAB... an important piece of advice.

Don`t pull the camera back at an angle that will show his feet aren`t touching the spinning drum.

OR...

Make sure your actor understands the concept and keeps his drating feet in place.

See kids, playing with electricity is fun, as long as you don`t put clamps on your nipples and hook them up to a power source.
