Shopped? Irrelevant, because Moody and Kuntz are real last names and it is possible for them to appear together. There are lots of unfortunately-named people in the army.

For example, someone in my division has the last name of Buttram (pronounced butt-ram or boo-trum). His wife`s first name is Anita. And the last four of his social is 1800, so it`s possible he has something marked 1800 BUTTRAM. You can`t make this stuff up, people. But personally I find the last names Pancake and Weiner to be the funniest to have in the army, because they get funnier as the person goes up in rank.

When I was in the Navy I saw a SN Stain, I thought it was a announcement joke when visiting one of my friend`s ship until I saw her report to the quarterdeck. It took all of my self control not to start laughing.
I also saw a FN Seamen.

I actually LOL`d at SeaBassEX & davidstone.

And I have to agree with DixxyRarr... Even if it`s not pronounced the way we`re all saying it, Kuntz would still be a tough surname to have...

Pro, because we are ourselves waging war on boredom.

Xerasia, did you find this post *anti*-soldier? Or, for that matter, *pro*-soldier? Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, you know?

When I was in the Navy, there were 3 guys that would always line up for inspection in the same order:

SN Long
SN Sweet
SN Weiner

It took the company commanders a few months to figure that one out . . .

I don`t see why it wouldn`t be real... My last name is "Kuntz" spelled the same way, and I`m sure "Moody" is a real last name too. Just real good timing on the photographers part.

The Army doesn`t make females cut their hair short, but you must be able to pin it up above the collar and not interfere with the wear of the headgear, etc. Look up AR670-1.

@techgeek: The US Army ACU hat has velcro on the back for a nametape.

As for being shopped, it certainly could be real. With little research I was able to find two females with those names both in the WI National Guard. Not a stretch for them to be in the same place at the same time... Plus there`s plenty of others out there with those names.
