Davy, the witness may have exaggerated some, but probably not much. You can actually throw a kid quite a long way if you do it right.

I once did something I bet was similar in a practice game. I was in the 8th grade, and we were scrimmaging against the 7th grade. At that age, 1 year makes quite a difference. Also, I was a defensive lineman and one of the biggest kids on our team, and the other kid was a running back and one of the smallest on his. I outweighed him by him by at least 40 lb. (quite a bit less than the difference between the kid and the coach in the video). I was lined up between their left guard and tackle, and they ran a sweep left. I shot the gap untouched and caught the ball carrier from behind by reaching over and grabbing the front of his shoulder pads with both hands. I kept my momentum, spun clockwise, and flung him like a Frisbee®. I know he flew at least 15`, so 30` is not too hard to believe for a big adult and a smaller kid.

I remember watching something similar happen, where parents got involved, too. This father was even knocked out by a kick to the head or something.
For f-ck`s sake, people, it`s just a game! A Pee Wee game a that! Which, by the way, is so weird and funny to watch.

Almost every team has 1 kid that HAULS a$$. I was an asst coach and we had a little white boy that could blow the doors off of most adults. Kid couldn`t have been but 80lbs soaking wet. Pee Wee games are great to watch.

vv Aha, makes more sense now. Never thought of the lateral throw. Just thought "30 foot in the air? Jeebus! Who was his dad, the Hulk?". Still, one wonders about the veracity of the eye-witness... 30` is a hell of a long way to sling a kid, vertically or laterally... I tend not to trust eye-witness testimony too much.

davy, I read that after I posted it, and I thought, "Yeah, that wasn`t quite as clear as it could have been."

He actually threw the kid about 30` laterally across the field, and the kid was in the air for the whole trip, so you could say he threw him 30` in the air, but in fact he probably wasn`t much more than 6-8` off the ground at any time.

Better? ;-)

Looks like the newscaster Green Screened himself into the shot at 1:05....He even created a moving shadow of himself in the background.....Impressive things you can do with Windows 98.

Unfortunately, it`s not just American football, and it`s not just Texas. It`s everything, everywhere that parents live vicariously through their kids because they spent so much time baked when they were younger that they never lived out their own dreams of glory.

Its Texas, and its football. That is just how heated they get over there about it. And yes , even pee-wee football they get heated! LOL

LITERALLY 30` in the air? You do know what a 30` throw looks like, dontcha? Hell, I`m bored, I made a pic, to scale and everything(assuming dad is 6` tall):

Just sayin`.

pathetic. As a guy who was involved in sports as a child and has helped coach other child teams, this makes me sad. There are always those parents who are a little too worked up, who are too pathetic to do anything themselves who feel they have to make their children win. it really is sad.

There`s more to this story. I saw an interview with a witness, and according to him, two players started scuffling over a hard block. The father of one of those kids ran onto the field, grabbed the other kid, and literally threw him 30` in the air. Then one of the coaches from the other team ran across the field and gave that guy a forearm to the back of the head. There really wasn`t that much fighting after that.

The father who assaulted the kid was banned for life. Last I heard, the DA is considering felony child abuse charges against him.

The parents ought to sue the living $#!+ out of the league board members personally for banning the kids from the post season. I`m thinking a nice class action for about $25-50K per player...

1) the kid who scored that touchdown is REALLY fast
2) I can understand that kind of emotions when it comes to the NFL where millions of dollars and jobs are on the line...but pee wee? C`mon!

1. It is only a freaking game. Why fight and cause problems.
2. And sportmanship is what is being taught. Why are there so many coaches? And what happened to good sportmanship.
3. What does that teach. If you are loosing or feel the refs called something wrong. Atack and hurt the other guys? What next. Killing each other?

So, um, when did it start taking twenty idiot men to coach pee-wee football? In my day, it only took one idiot man to do it! In those days, it was hard to have an all out brawl with only two idiot men on the field. You know?

it`s stupid to punish the kids for someone elses idiotic behavior.
but if you fire the coaches this season then it`s just as bad as the kids not getting to play.
i say let the kids do post season games and start looking for new coaches for next season...
