TV Reporter Destroys Ice Sculpture

Sometimes ""sorry"" seems woefully inadequate.

1) The reporter says "OH..." before the statue even starts to tip.

2) He is clearly pushing on it.

3) Ice Sculptors do not do their work in the middle of a busy walkway on a summer day.

Staged. No doubt.

that just....looked fake...I mean...It looked like he put his hand on it and then pushed it over, not just accidentally knocked it over.

"Can I take a closer looker at this..." (doesn`t wait for response and knocks it over) "...oh my god... I am so sorry..." Next time The Incredible Hulk asks if he can touch your delicate art, say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

@danisbored- I`m not convinced until I hear from the dude who carved the sculpture. Not that I think it`s all that likely this guy is really dumb enough to lie in that interview, but you never know.

It`s officially fake. Here`s audio interview of the reporter describing the setup: Reporter debunks ice sculpture viral

I completely understand the artist`s frustration, but the guy really was sorry, he should`ve made himself look better and laughed and said, "It`s okay, it was going to melt anyway."

At least he didn`t get his World Of Warcraft account deleted. That`s pretty lucrative (for Blizzard`s sake).

it is a big effin deal. you dont destroy an artist`s work...regardless of your intention to do or not do it, its still wasted energy.

Dude, big effin deal, crap happens. He`s gonna get paid for it either way, so why`s he bitching? Newsflash genius, it was just gonna melt anyway. What`d he think it was gonna go straight from the fair to the louvre?

That sculptor ought to chill out, he looks like a cool guy. Snow problem that the reporter broke it, he`ll be n-ice enough to pay for repairs. Still he`ll get a frosty reception for the rest of the festival since everyone`ll give him the cold shoulder.

...Maybe he could break the ice by playing starcraft 2, made by Blizzar... okay I`m out of puns.

Ouch, I`d probably slam him on the pavement just like he did the ice sculpture if that was my hard work he just ruined.

"Dude are you serious?"
that made me giggle. And that guy must have had some control not to say something a little less television appropriate.

Whoa! I was there Sunday (The Orange County Fair). It was pretty cool (heh).

and yeah, it felt staged, the hand on the shoulder was awkward, you don`t touch people you`ve just pissed off...

I`m jumping on the "Seems Staged" bandwagon. :/

But if it is real, that guy`s an idiot. Think he`s ever heard of the phrase "Look with your eyes, not with your hands"?

"Let me take a closer look (as I bear weight on the ice sculpture as I bend over)."
-Richard Cranium, reporting live from the fair. Now, back to you.

I can understand the frustration having spent time carving to have it destroyed. And by sounds of it has happened before with people who have to touch aswell as look

Yeah, something about the sculptor`s reaction, I don`t know....I mean, yeah, you`d be pissed at losing all that time, but its a fricken ICE sculpture, at the county fair.

It looked like an innocent mistake, the guy was carving in the middle of the walkway, and the reporter was totally appologetic (i.e., basically said "we`ll pay you for it). Getting paid for it should end the anger

....I don`t know.

He`s lucky that guy didn`t start to re-carve the sculpture out of his hide.
