it`s horrible because of how many school kids are now going to wonder "was i an accident, too?". there are better ways to educate kids about why having a baby too young sucks.

"there are better ways to educate kids about why having a baby too young sucks."

LOL you idiot, you don`t educate KIDS about why having a baby too young sucks, you target them when they get older and them having a kid on accident is actually a possibility.

You teach kids about not being annoying, not the consequences of having kids too early

Let`s say she`s 29 and had a child at 14 who would now be 14 or 15. That`s totally old enough to have a child, especially if you`re trying to start a bby factory. I just so happen to be doing that, but I`m only accepting asians due to they are a superior breed. Since they look like 14 even when they`re older I can get by with it and no one really notices. To the people concerned about Xerasia having 3 children while being in the 18-29 age bracket, she doesn`t really have to have started "young". Maybe she has a set of twins thrown in there, or maybe she has triplets, or maybe she got married in her early 20s and started having babies right away. Don`t jump to conclusions!

As for the poster...I kind of agree with the person that said if the girl`s willing to have an abortion, she`s probably gonna be a pooty parent anyway. Not saying that all women who have abortions are pooty parents, but if it`s a girl who`s using it as a cop-out, then yes, it`s probably better that the child is not brought into this world.

But then again, if you don`t want to have "accidents", then either practice safe sex or don`t have sex at all. The living thing inside of you shouldn`t have to suffer just because you decided to have sex before you were ready to face the consequences, had they come about.

there are different kinds of abortions. there are abortions where the doctor tells you that your life may be in danger if you carry the child to term. there are the abortions where your father rapes you and gets you pregnant, and there are pregnancies where you are raped by a non-family member. abortion in these cases is easily understandable. but let`s be honest: these cases aren`t the rule, they`re the exception. an all-out ban on abortion would be as impractical as it is an infringement of personal rights. imagine a mother having to go to court to have permission to abort a child because she may die?

the only practical way i can see to reduce abortions and retain personal rights is to make a federal abortion bill of rights that basically says `no partial birth abortions period, and a woman has a right to an abortion if a doctor approves it, no court proceedings, no challenging, completely anonymous` and then let states ban or encourage abortion around that framework.

Just don`t be surprised if pregnancy occurs anyway. Condoms are very useful, but not perfect. Under perfect clinical trial conditions, 2% of the women will be pregnant per year. Reality rarely matches perfect clinical trial conditions, so expect more than 2%. Quite a lot more. You`re changing the odds, but it`s still a gamble.

I agree with pretty much everything you said there, and definately everything in the first paragraph.

But, say there was a bill that said no abortions unless it was rape or life-threatening. Then, because it`s how people work, you`d get people claiming rape just because they didn`t want the baby. Rape is something incredibly hard to prove, and if there`s false claims as well as honest ones - both of which would probably have the man saying it was consentual - then it would just make it harder.

Sure northenwolf, but how are you going to enforce this license? going to sterilize everyone at birth, force them to take birth control, or just say no sex period. What are you going to do to people who get pregnant anyways? abort it even though it may be against their religion? take it away and put it in an already overstressed foster system? lets see what your solutions are...
They tried licenses in China, families would keep pregnancies a secret, then when their child ended up being a girl they would take that baby out to the middle of nowhere and leave them to die. They did this because they wanted a boy to carry on their name and were limited to the amount of children.
What should be taken away is the public paying for other`s children. no more welfare, foster care, etc. When you have no choice but to care for the child you had people will start being much more careful about having children.

You`re own story contradicts itself stang. If Legal penalties in china couldn`t keep people from killing children because they weren`t what they wanted what makes you think a little thing like money will?

Humans are selfish and fickle creatures. There are some people who would think to the future and avoid pregnancy, but far more wouldn`t think until it was to late. Best case scenario for remove the support networks is more starving families and children. Worst case is children abandoned or killed due to stress and the parent snapping.

And to those making the argument of "willing to have an abortion = bad parent."

Maybe, just maybe that girl was intelligent enough to realize that she`s not emotionally mature enough or financially stable enough yet to care for and handle a child. Maybe they also realized that giving a child up for adoption is an emotional strain in itself she`s not capable of, and so decided to wait to have children until a time when she could raise a child in a stable and secure environment.

Maybe, the fact that you`d rather raise a child in a poo home with little to no money and a lack of mature parental figures means that you and you`re preemptive judgements of others are a worse parent then the intelligent and self aware girl who got an abortion.

Not saying having kids at a young age is a good thing, but kids can change people`s lives. It`s strange. I`ve seen people go through a complete metamorphosis once they had children. Granted, a lot of those people were adults in a position to be responsible anyway, but nature is a cool thing. We already have most of the parenting skills we need hardwired into us and I`ve seen quite a few teens go from slobs to focused just for the sake of their seed. It obviously makes the road tougher if you have them at an early age, and for that reason it will never be a wise choice, but becoming a parent can be magical. It`s crazy.

But if someone doesn`t want that magic, it`s their choice. There are tons of circumstances out there already mentioned that call for abortion.

@calderis, you just proved the point that they would be a bad parent. If they aren`t emotionally or financially stable or mature enough then they would be a bad parent. It doesn`t matter if she is intelligent, but if she lacks those things then she will be a bad parent. Not saying the poor can`t be good parents but if you can`t provide for you and your kid then wait till you can to have one. STOP HAVING BABIES HOMELESS PEOPLE

I don`t get it. I read all the comments, but who sponsors this poster, or what exactly are they advertising?

@MEZA I`m with Calderis. First off, people are capable of developing emotional maturity as they age (just `cause some of the mental midgets on here stopped growing emotionally at five doesn`t mean everyone does). A girl who may not be ready at 15 may be perfect parent material by the time she`s 30.

And what about those times where birth control fails? It`s not 100% effective, even if you take it perfectly. And then there`s those times the condom pops. (I`ve had it happen to me. I got lucky in that nothing happened, but the waiting to know was NOT FUN.)

Yes, there are a select few who are complete wastes of good air and use abortions as birth control. Those bitches should be fixed, IMHO, but that should not stop other women from having the choice.

What I don`t understand is the breeder mentality in the west, particularly here in the U.S. People keep having football teams worth of kids and then wonder why they struggle and wonder why there`s so many people on welfare. There are TOO MANY PEOPLE. We are going to die out very soon just by over-breeding to the point where we can no longer feed everyone. And there are SO MANY people who have kids who have NO BUSINESS having kids. We no longer have the NEED for so much breeding (it`s not like we have to have enough kids to work the farms and take care of us when we`re old anymore) and we no longer have the support systems to help educate and support everyone who wants to have a child or multiple children. If we stopped pushing the idea that having children and having large families is the end-all, be-all in life then we wouldn`t have this problem and wouldn`t need to rely on abortions as much.

    This is totally true.

And becca, the poster is implying having a kid would ruin your life so use a condom or other means of safe sex.

Unless you know who produced this poster it can be taken as pro-life or pro-choice. In either case it is vague and poorly done propaganda. Is the picture supposed to be one of those "best moments" are the words supposed to be sarcasm?

My guess is this is an ad for work related accidents or something similar, since this is seemingly posted in a work environment. The "best moments of your life" is probably referring to the kid. Family. Best moments. Yadda yadda.

On the top left corner it looks like it says August 20XX. Not sure what year it is referencing. And it`s just too far away to see the words on the bottom left corner, so I haven`t a clue about the source.

The only other place I can find that quote at is this FaceBook page thing, but it looks like the post is gone. So, whatever.

If it is not a real poster it should be. To me, at least, this poster is a double edged sword speaking about teen or unwanted pregnancy (being the mistake) that takes the best moments of her life (being youth without having to raise a child while she is still a child)but it could just as easily be abouit abortion and using this phrase to convince a person the baby growing nside them is a mistake(which I disagree with byt he way)

This poster looks very odd and badly done. It tells people to use protection so they can`t have kids but then it shows a very cute child looking tenderly at an adult. The child looks very happy and I suppose the adult too because we can see his hand on his shoulder.
What a huge contradiction of messages! No smart poster maker would do a poster like this, they would use a kid being annoying or mean to better convey they message.

    concluding: Yeah, it`s photoshopped.

People?!!! This is a Catholic Charities poster saying kids are the greatest part of a parents life. What kind of families do you guys come from that you would think that this is a pro-abortion or a pro-partying poster for birth control.Wow, just wow. Quit getting your opinions from your drunken red-neck parents. Not everything is a "liberal plot".
