@ irbord- in theory, yes, Christians are supposed to be tolerant of other people`s religions/life choices. In practice, however, many Christians feel that they have the "right" religion and that people should listen to them. They`re also afraid that if they stray from the Godly path and start allowing "impure, earthly influences" into their lives, they will be overcome by Satan and lose their faith. Which actually says quite a bit about how fragile their faith is to begin with...

And as a disclaimer, I, like Relient K, would like to pause to clarify (because I`m sure you`re asking why) I stand before you and proudly claim to belong to what this post complains. I`m part of the problem, I confess, but I gotta get this off my chest. Let`s extinguish the anguish for which we`re to blame and save the world from going down in flames.

"Misnomer" means when something has a misleading, incorrect or inapropriate name.

So this guy is misusing misnomer.

I think they mean "misconceptions".

It`s a misnomer, so I think they mean that it`s found in more than heavy maetal. Though I don`t think "misnomer" was the best choice of word.

Ehh, most metal musicians are actually Christian... Dave Mustaine for example.

No.... Satan is in a band/musician`s ungodly attempt to remix a beautiful song. DJ Sammy is the devil.

True. Satanism is also in country music.

The devil went down to Georgia
He was lookin` for a soul to steal.
He was in a bind `cause he`s way behind
So he`s willin` to make a deal......

etc.

Why is it that televangelists always look exactly how I imagine the Devil would look if he were real?

The word "misnomer" does not mean "myth" - it means an incorrect name. Like if there was a town called "Riverside" that is nowhere near any river, it would be a misnomer.

He`s saying that "Satanism is only in heavy metal music" is untrue. Most likely, his point is that satanism exists in many forms of music.

Apparently no one is reading the first line: "Rock & Roll Misnomers"

I think what he meant is that only heavy metal songs refer to Satan, not that all heavy metalists are Satanists. But both of those are wrong.

As a metalhead, I can honestly say that metal is NOT Satanic unless you listen specifically to Satanic metal bands. My three favorite metal bands are actually devout Christians. (One of which bands I grew up with and still support to this day, Thy Will Be Done.)
