Yeah, the internet has sort of ruined the simple charm of lots of things, hasn"t it.

@Ace Mazta - no, people are still being sued, other people are still putting out poorly made ads pleading with people not to download. Is it working? No. Is it going to? Doubtful.

By the way, whatever happened to the Pirate Bay court case? Never heard much about that...

Haha not even. If I really like a band, I`ll go buy a cd.

Not true, unless you`re an idiot that probably has horrible music taste and greatly lack any sort of musical talent yourself to understand what good music is.

"yup, in short, technology has made us a worse culture. We have limited social skills, we don`t know how to think and we dont even try, and the goal of our lives is "how do I entertain myself?" not "what can I do to better the world or do my part?""

You`re right, we should all go amish and get back to family values and community!

...or just stop being that "good old days" type of person and live with it. In ten more years NOW will be the "good old days" when everyone remembers how simpler it was in the days before the moon colony and virtual reality and the war for the lost colony for atlantis.

I`m just saying...

kirstoner asked: "people still listen to the radio?!"

Yes. And I am concerned now, because this graph is pretty accurate, except for the illegal downloads. ...

~2 AM - Hear amazing song on TV
~5 AM - Finally fall asleep, TV plays the song a few more times causing me to have odd dreams and the song to be etched into my memory. That`s how it works for me :3

They don`t call it Detroit rock city for nothing- we have a lot of rock, a lot of pop, and a bit of country on our radios here in MI.

Worst thing is, a radio show lasts ~3 hours. That means you hear the same top of the charts songs up to 8 times a day, so my timeline would involve hearing a good song, liking it, hating it for a few weeks, hearing it 3 months later and remembering I liked it, then downloading it.

By the way, we have 2 major pop stations, at least 2 golden oldies stations, one dedicated rock station (featuring Nights with Alice Cooper), and one alternative station for the local bands who aren`t famous yet. Life is good.

>>lolphotoshop, we used to have 3 or 4 rock stations in Houston, but they were all bought by Spanish-speaking radio stations. <<

Yeah it drating sucks. Do you remember 102.9 the Planet? That station was bad ass and a great competitor to The Buzz. Then they got drating bought out by, omg, another stupid hispanic station.

then there was the time that even The Buzz was almost sold to become another spanish station. I hate Houston. Glad I live in Dallas now.. though it`s not much better. :P

Apparently I live in the only area where there`s several rock stations. There`s even one that never plays anything older than the 1980s and focuses mostly on alternative rock. WFNX is the best.

I got into The Black Keys after I saw them on Leno, a good 8 years or so since they came out.
What?

I usually go up to the 4th bar, but then completely forget about the song+band the next week or sooner.

And I only ever bother with Classic Rock.
Classic Rock is unbeatable!!

agreed on all points. If I had one of those MIB mind erase devices I`d make them all forget they ever heard that Gary Jules song from Donnie Darko.

The major, well only, rock station in Houston plays as much music from the 90`s as they do current music. Probably even more from the 90`s because most new music sucks. It`s actually just a bad impression of good music from the 90`s.

the part about how bands just automatically "suck" after the song is old, is so true. Do bands just not fade out anymore? they automatically have to suck?? So dumb.
