We don"t know, is this that bad a thing? (Kidding!)

Well I expect the fries to still be good after 100 days or so since they`re covered in salt. And salt preserves food. But I`m surprised by the bun. Bread will get moldy pretty quickly if left out. They must of kept this food in a dry, cool, sterile environment because at least the bun would rot.

I could never do such an experiment... If there`s a McDonalds cheeseburger in my house, it WILL get eaten. By me. Straight away. Coz they`re delicious.

The guy who did Super Size Me did a similar experiment, except he put them in glass jars. It was much more legitimate than this.

Sorry, I`m gonna call BS on this. Assuming that the McD`s was just sitting there, the fries would not have moved that much. Also, I don`t care about the burger itself, that may easily look the same, but I`d think unless you kept a perfectly sterile environment, the bread would go moldy.

Ah well I`d prefer having one made fresh in my own home where I have a better picture of where the ingredients are from.

Does anyone know if Macdonald outlets in different countries prepare burgers differently? I saw an article regarding Russia`s and it looks safe and rather delectable actually. Maybe I should try this experiment with my own country`s McD.

I`ve yet to see a Whataburger outside of Texas as well. DX

Which sucks because it`s wonderful to go in there at 3am and get whatever bbq-soaked delight they have as the special.

"McDonalds does not give you free anything. You want a burger for lunch? You get in line and pay for it."

Sadly this is true at BK and Wendy`s as well... Employees are granted a measly 20% discount on food items they buy for their break, and they are only allowed that discount ONCE per day. (So no buying some to take home at discounted price)

In SuperSize Me, Fries and various burgers were left in a room to see how long the preservatives lasted... Most of the sandwiches were pretty much a complete mess by the 4 month mark (a few were so bad, i.e. the Fish Sandwich, that they had to remove them from the experiment because the smell was overpowering), but the fries, even after a full 6 months NEVER CHANGED...

The french fries weren`t faked, I can tell you that. Somebody dropped like a whole large order of Micky D`s fries on the sidewalk near my house and they sat there for at least two months and they never molded or decomposed or anything. They still looked like they were fresh out of the bag (although I`m sure they didn`t taste fresh). Not even the birds would touch them. And that was after sitting outside in the elements for that long! It`s not hard for me to believe that these fries lasted 137 days looking like that.

I don`t know about the burger, but I suspect that it`s very possible that it could still look like that after 137 days.

it doesn`t rot because it is very high in sodium. Not because they put magical poisons that will kill you if you eat such seemingly slow rotting crap.

Didn`t they do something like this on "Supersize Me"? Unless I`m mistaken, the fries stayed fine, as they essentially have all the moisture removed by frying. Pretty sure the burger would go green and furry after a while.

Haven`t eaten McD`s in years. Not because of all of the preservatives and additives they put in their food, but because their food (or should I say consumable food-like product) is fcuking disgusting. I`ll take Carl`s Jr- or even better, Burgerville- over McDonald`s any day.

Angrynerd must own stock in McDonalds (investing in a real estate company that large should be a good bet)(and yes real estate is their primary business, crappy food just pays for the land they own) This is totally legit, just "loose" some french fries under the seat of your car, you`ll see.

@angrynerd

How is this "blatantly" fake? What is obvious about it. The bun has the same creases in it. After that amount of time the only change I can see is the bun has faded in color, the fries and patty have shrunk from dehydration.

McDonald`s represents the height of processed food. Everything is chock full of preservatives. Have you ever bought Wonderbread? It will never get moldy. Have you ever bought artisan bread? It goes moldy in 2-3 days. This is not fake, the food is.

My friend once ate fries that were a couple months old that he found in the back seat of his car...

He said, and I quote, "With a little prep, and tons of salt, they`re as good as new!"
Aww, gross. I wonder if they feed us old food.. D:
Thankfully, no. Not even McDonald`s is THAT bad...

I have another friend that used to work at one... Said they had to throw out any old food at the end of the day, old being pretty much anything that was taken out of the freezer and didn`t get sold that day.

He still absolutely refused to eat at McDonald`s, though, so there`re probably OTHER things going on in the back that he WASN`T telling us...
