Yaphet Koto and Wesley Snipes. I want to see just one episode with those two cast in those parts.

Regie Jackson??!!!
I don`t see him as a techno-loner/strike out king (with women.) Seems more like a command officer.

dear lord. as an avid `star trek tng` fan, this is crazy $hit. guess i`m used to the way things are, `cause i like the cast the way it was. also, wesley as a chick would probably have been even more annoying.

Am I the only one who would have thought Wesley Snipes would have made Star Trek TNG about a THOUSAND times more awesome?

MORE ST:TNG fun facts...

Brent Spiner was a last minute addition to the cast as Data. Data was originally meant to be a chief science officer like Spock was in the original series, only the blue uniform clashed with the android makeup, so they changed his position so he`d wear a yellow uniform.

Wesley Crusher (played by Wil Wheaton) was originally meant to be a girl`s role, named LESLIE Crusher.

Geordi`s visor was originally crafted from a automotive air filter and a hair band.

The teleporter effect was created by overlaying footage of glitter being stirred in a glass of water over the original shot, then transitioning to a second shot of the empty transporter.

Worf`s head piece was changed at the beginning of season 2 because the original was stolen. Michael Dorn spent 2 hours in makeup for each taping.

when choosing Riker, pehaps they should have not gone so much for the physical type.... and concentrated on someone who could actually ACT

I`m so glad Tim Russ got cast as Tuvok on Voyager instead. He is perfect for that role.

Remember, if these actors had gotten these roles, entertainment as we know it might have been worlds different, for better OR worse.

(o_o)^ Always choose wisely, my children...

Wesley Snipes being on the list made me laugh. Oh man, I think Next Gen could have been a lot more fun to watch if they had gotten him.

Kevin Peter Hall was under consideration as Data? Look him up on IMDb if you don`t know who he is. He is the 7`2" black guy who played The Predator.

PS - Michael Dorn as Worf replaced Tasha Yar as the security officer in the second season. My wife met Michael Dorn at a party. Someone introduced her to "Michael" and as soon as he started speaking, she recognized his voice. He is really nice!

I can`t believe Brent Spiner wasn`t even on the shortlist. Brent Spiner was fantastic as Data!

What? No Worf?

Besides Michael Dorn, possible contenders for Worf would be . . . ?

Wesley Snipes
Vin Deisel
Chuck Norris {hahahahaha kidding}
Meril Streep...that bitch can play ANY role!

Crosby would have been interesting as Troi. Snipes would have been great as Geordi.

By the way, I saw this a week ago from following LeVar on Twitter. I feel that makes me pretty cool.

So LeVar Burton really was cast as The Black Guy.

Tim Russ as Geordi? Possibly, but I like him better as Tuvok.

I can`t see Crosby as Troi though.

And I guess they didn`t consider Brent Spiner for Data at the time? Wonder how that came about.

Wilson, from House, is Data. Got pretty baked last night and watched Nemesis, and thought his voice sounded familiar.

Interesting that they had Wesley, but no Worf (who replaced Tasha). I could have happily done without the Wesley character from the beginning. Of course, at the time, the "young idiot savant child prodigy non-nice individual" was all the rage on action adventure shows...
