No poo Sherlock. I said that already. (BUSH COULD HAVE AVOIDED IT ALL! He was a pussy who caved when congress suggested all these stupid bail outs with money we didn`t have.) See?

I agree though. Credit default swapping also had a lot to do with it. Wall street sucks too my friend.

As far as your comment about apprehension of the unknown. My insurance premiums are going up in October, and again in April. Reason?

To offset costs due to the upcoming US health care laws.

@madest:

Like everyone has always said, come with facts.

All you do is spout untruths, then make fun of the people who call you out on it.

Our current problems are a DIRECT result of:

The community reinvestment act running out of control, giving home loans to people who had no business having one. Then they just stop paying them. Banks go bankrupt, stop giving loans, and small businesses in return stop hiring and investing.

Excessive bailouts from our government raising fears at wall street, causing our dollar to get more and more worthless. Teamed with the fed refusing to raise interest rates, our dollar gets even weaker.

The fed printing money with no backing.

Businesses showing apprehension in hiring due to Obamacare tax increases.

I`m running out of characters, so I`ll close with this. BUSH COULD HAVE AVOIDED IT ALL! He was a pussy who caved when congress suggested all these stupid bail outs with money we didn`

No madest, you`re just being rude now.

Reganomics suffered under BushI because he didn`t do anything to keep them going. The US economic growth rate fell slowly every year from about 1985 to 1998. It was still growing, just not a fast.

And fyi: the policies that CAUSED the big crisis? Started by Clinton. Expanded by threats of legal action. FULLY supported by Democrats right up to the bitter end.
McCain tried to regulate these policies in 2004, but was called a racist for doing so.
I have the video :P

Bill Clinton sat there and coasted while Reaganomics did what it was supposed to.

Then he added to the Community Investment act, which did a lot to put us where we are today.

W didn`t help matters. He could have put the brakes on our spend happy congress, but he didn`t. He cow-towed to keep the peace. He was a moron that believed them.

Nice try at changing the topic, but you are just flailing around like a headless chicken, and about as intelligent sounding too.

There is no draft moron. Those soldiers would not be unemployed.

Don`t look at Bush`s average unemployment. Look at it BEFORE the dems got on a roll in congress.

"Americans are working, inflation is under control and wages are increasing with December unemployment rate at 4.5%, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

The wages surge was 4.2% in 2006 and the annual unemployment rate came in at 4.6%."

Source

For the record, I`m NOT being a Bush apologist. I`m clearly stating that unemployment, and wages, were fine before this bailout and "stimulus" crap started. He is just as responsible as congress for it. All I am saying, is that as soon as there was a like minded president in office, things went downhill fast.

@madest, that`s pretty good for y`all to know that! lolz! Given that Americans are geographicly disinclined, eh?

Why do I care?
Picture the Titanic. Ok?
Now picture a tugboat, a good, strong one. Got it?
Now picture 100s of ropes & chains connecting the two. SO MANY that it would take YEARS to detach them.
Still with me?
The Titanic is the USA. Canada is the sturdy (but little) tugboat. If the USA hits that iceberg up ahead, WE CANADIANS go down too! But we have no say in where the Titanic`s Captains (Currently Pelosi-Reid-Obama) chart the course.
Get it?
Obama-Reid-Pelosi are the WORST crew in history. It`s MY opinion and, like Americans, I`m free to hold it.
Golfing excessively, Spainish vacations, `redistribute the wealth` are all BAD things!

Similarly, look at statistics for unemployment over the last 60 years (minimum). Republican policy has universally failed, and democrat policies have universally worked, without exception, when it comes to unemployment.

Nothing says failure like half a century of empirical data.

Again. These policies in place are what America needs.

1) The 879 was specifically vacations, not "days spent at the ranch total".

2) I said "that`s fine". I didn`t take sides. You do. I sit on the sidelines and notice you`ve got two faces.

3) I criticized Bush. I criticized Obama right up until the election. I was in favour of McCain (but not Palin), I am always outspoken about my views.

4) After the election I`ve been reacting against whoever has been saying the stupidest poo. That would be the republicans.

Flat out 100%, the republicans. They have lied, distorted the truth, and continue to try to pass this economy off as something Clinton passed on to Obama.

No. As a Market Analyst, and a drating good one, whose market analysis has saved several multi billion dollar organizations in a ways that would boggle your mind: Obama`s policies are textbook what your country needs.

I`m sorry. Your team loses. Try next season. Shape up first.

Gosh madest, and 30% just happens to be the amount of WEEKENDS in an 8 year term too! So you admit Bush spent his weekends WORKING (hosting visits of international leaders) not playing golf? (which he gave up to show support for the troops, eh?)
Again, no one begrudges him time off, especially to spend with the kids!
BUT he keeps saying `this is my NUMBER ONE priority` (oil spills, health care, economy, jobs & etc. How many `number ones` can you have???) and then goes to play golf.
BUT he promised `change` and then takes more time off than Bush did in EIGHT YEARS.

Well, I guess that IS change, eh? LOLZ! Not the good kind tho...

We live in a republic, not a democracy. As such, once we elect our leaders (Congress included), we do not get a direct say in policy making. Which is not to say it is an autocracy (that`s, in part, why there are 3 branches of government). But it is certainly not a democracy and the government is not required to bend to the will of the people. (Though if an elected official acts beyond the pale of popular consensus, they may face a tough reelection bid.)

Nice try Baalth, but Bush did a lot of WORK there. Are you counting weekends too? Times when parliment is also on vacation? Yes of course. Carter (and others) went to Camp David, Bush went to his ranch. Same thing!
Number of international leaders Obama met with while golfing: 0 (that`s a zero, not an oh)

No one says he CANNOT play golf. BUT I remind y`all that when Bush played, it was MSM front page news! In that bad way! Now Obama does it? Oooo he`s such an athlete!! And I bet he`s THINKING about important presidential stuff as he lines up his putt...

Working at what? The leader sets policy and gives orders - other people implement everything. The President (or Prime Minister here) only needs to be in the office for meeting people. Most of the time, they could be surfing or whatever.

I don`t really care about how much things cost when it comes to a president just doing normal things. When we elect them we sort of agree to pay their way for a few years and they have families and they can`t simply put their lives on hold and live in the White House for four years. Most of the money is to protect the president and his family and we would pay that for any president so don`t blame the individual.
