Im a little confused at the crime here though, he didn`t put anyone in danger and certainly if anything entertained everyone. If `escaping` down an airline chute is criminal mischief then there`s alot of crash landing survivors that should be arrested too. They could charge him with stealing the beers, but why not just allow him to pay for them? Damn police, always the same everywhere...even if your not doing anything to effect anyone at all your still acting criminal in their eyes.

Geez, who cares if here`s gay or not? So many homophobes in this world. I wonder why the mods on IAB used to be stingy about people commenting about this, but now they aren`t doing poo.

moderators - you`re really letting yourselves and the rest of us down.

people used to get an instant ban for homophobic or racist comments.

now the boards are full of it and the mods aren`t even bothering to delete the spam posts.

what happened?

Loxen, the idea is to be treated decently and like a human being, not anything special. There are people who think they are better than everyone else at all economic levels, its the type of personality. It`s not about the worker and their job, it`s about the lack of decency in certain people who choose to look down upon others. That`s what this is about.

I`ll be honest, if I was on the flight and didn`t have a connection afterward I`d be confused at first. But seriously, I`d give him a standing f***ing ovation. I don`t care about proper etiquette from an employee if you do not show proper etiquette in return. If you swear and attack and act like an all-around non-nice individual, you deserve some sort of public humiliation. And as ridiculous at the beer and slide was, this kind of reaction does demand a GRAND EXIT as such.

Part of me wants to celebrate the crazy.
Part of me is annoyed at how so many people think they are "better" than the job they PICKED themselves, ended up with. Was he expecting the life of a flight attendant to be his stepping stone to exotic adventures and world travel or something? Peons are peons. To expect to be treated like you`re something significant kinda requires a job thats a wee bit higher in status.

Sad, really. "Flight attendants" should not be gay men. They should be hot young women and be called "Stewardesses". Anyone remember when flying was sophisticated and prestigious? Nobody wants to deal with a surly fag.

And all that on top of being overworked and underpaid by the airline and having to wear the GAYEST outfits EVER!

Not a valid objection in this case, as he was apparently responsible for those outfits.

Which explains why the uniform is so gay.

I`ve been on too many flights in the past six months... and I`ve never seen a passenger behave like that, I probably would`ve slapped her.

"Granted, that lady was very rude."

Rude? The chick hit the flight attendant in the head with her luggage. Why the eff isn`t she being brought up on some kind of charges?

Yeah, I`ve seen my share of bitchy flight attendants, but you know, considering the poo they put up with, I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. Downright non-nice individual attendants, no. But stressed out and tired ones, yes.

Can you imagine living and working with eternal jet lag, dealing with people bumping and touching you inappropriately all the time, talking to you like you`re a dog, no one really listening to you when you talk to them? And all that on top of being overworked and underpaid by the airline and having to wear the GAYEST outfits EVER!

Besides, could have been worse. Dude could have gone postal. At least he found a funny and creative way to let out his frustrations.

So...where`s the reckless endangerment? Reckless, yes, but as far as I can see, the only thing he endangered was his future job prospects.

50 cops...I bet they just got a message about a plane and something happening, so it triggered a "potential terrorist" response.

An attention whore, yes. But one with style.

"in bed with his boyfriend" somehow I just knew he was gay. I just knew it. okay, so the whole `man is a flight attendant" was a total give away but still... oh wait, the news was he quit his job after getting pissed.. right.

btw, how do you go 28 years as a flight steward and only now, does something like "mother drater" piss you off.

Lately, I`ve had a whole spat of flight attendants with piss poor attitudes... and I`m an extremely polite person. The act like they hate their job, are grumpy, and treat every customers request like the customer is being unreasonable.

Granted, that lady was very rude. But if he had been previously acting like some of the attendants I`ve had to put up with, she was probably pissed off already too.

It`s interesting the number of people condemning this man for what he did.

I don`t care who you are, everyone has a breaking point, everyone. Hasn`t happened to you? It will, you`ve just never been there yet. For this dude, it came as the plane landed, when some ass of a passenger disregarded the rules, ignored the instructions of the flight attendant, cut the flight attendant in the head while being combative, and using directed profanity. Had he not left, the passenger could have, and should be, up on charges as well.

As for the exit, well that is style. Instead of flooring the dumb ass, he chose a non violent and flamboyant means of egress.

But hey, whats an emotional breakdown after a "bad day" compared to being delayed at the terminal. Hell, it`s only someones mental health, not like it really matters.

This guy really bothers me. Sure, work sucks and we all have to deal with jerks on the job, but that`s life. I agree with you, gatorade, he IS an "attention whore."
Good luck to that guy on trying to find a place that`ll hire him after that stunt.

He was suspended? Why would they "suspend" him when he so clearly quit? Weirdos. Also there`s no way he`ll do 7 years-- that`s ridiculous. Activating a gigantic slide and sliding down it, to me, is not reckless endangerment (hardly even mischief) at all.

If airlines were any fun, they`d have let the other passengers slide down it too. God the world is a humourless hole.
