Submitted by: fancylad 7 years ago in Weird

Remember last week"s Satanic Restaurant Menu? That one makes this one seem like the Denny"s kiddie menu.

I`m no expert, but it looks like Japanese kanji to me. The character they translate as "gruel" is the character for gruel. The character they use in some places for "fry" looks correct. Maybe it was poorly translated from Chinese to Japanese before being poorly translated to English.

@zillius- what word could they use that translates to the F word? Or do they commonly describe food as being so good, it`s like sex?

You learn something new every day... I was about to say I thought it was chinese until I saw the yen symbol, but with what you said in mind I`m flying the Chinese flag (metaphorically speaking of course)

A typical Chinese menu you`d find somewhere in China. They get the translations directly from dictionaries, which can become awkward as you can see. Frog gruel anyone? That`s actually congee by the way.

This is Chinese and not Japanese. The Yen symbol is also used for the Chinese Yuan.

It seems like someone used an online translator for the menu...

I hate to claim `fake`... but the english doesn`t match up with the number of items. Also top soup are obviously below the kanji for top or above (the t above the line). While the symbol fot the day and three have the english above... why does it just switch half way through?

now how`d they know that? That`s the same euphimism the wife and I use when it`s sexin time,
I say," Honey, it`s time to put the slippery chicken in the mushroom gruel".

Are the English translations above or below the Kanji? Because the first translation appears below the Kanji but the last one appears above.

the descriptions are above the kanji

apparently idea powder is pasta and the day = japanese style, and there`s some cow stomach in there for good measure, yum

"Fück to burn the of"

Now I`m no linguistics expert, but surely Chinese requires that you put at least one noun in your sentences, right?

@duffytoler - I`m not seeing much consistency in the correlation of english words to kanji, it looks like they`re translating at random. If I was the type to call "fake", I`d be calling it on this one.

"Slippery chicken" kind of sounds like it could be a sexual euphemism. I`m baffled as to how the f-bomb makes its way onto so many menus, though...
