Lulz “self-directed young people who look down on conformity and are interested in videogames, computers, electronics, science and the internet,”

Read: /b/tards, redditers, college stoners and dirty hipsters. Awesome. I`m totally hiring this person to do my PR.

I have this to say. I do own an iPod Touch and it`s fine but, for those who want to own an Apple device...hang onto all the free stuff they give you with it because, the minute you lose it, it`s expensive to replace.

I was actually in a RadioShack grabbing some batteries the other day and heard a guy flipping out about how much a charger to his iPhone cost.

It might seem ridiculous but understand when you have closed platforms and proprietary anything...the market is cornered and they can name their price. Get used to it, people.

They are just too damned expensive, everything apple makes is this way and even understanding the expense doesn`t make them any more `cooler`. Although if the Ipad could function like and Ipod touch and an Iphone while still do everything it does in a multi-app way it`d be an advancement in technology that would correlate the pricetag but for now its just an oversized Ipod touch with maybe a few functions added in.

It is however another screen for the virtual generation to look at and forget the reality that they are in. I swear if the future ever curbs away from this materialism they`re going to look back at this age in one form, a large group of people all looking down at their various phones and electronic screens ignoring the world around them.

Hey everyone can we please stop all this apple bashing? At first is was funny, now it`s stopped being funny.

Hey yeah, that guy`s right! I`m tired of IMB always making fun of apple products!

--
Yeah stop it guys! Not everyone who uses an ipad/iphone is stupid!

@VirtualParty - they are actually really easy to type on, I thought the same as you, until I played with one in Myers for about half an hour. It is easy to navigate, fun to play on, but still, less powerful than a laptop, and too big for a phone, so meh. I would definitely consider a tablet-style computer (Apple or otherwise) if it was as powerful and no more expensive than my laptop.

What is the point of an ipad anyway? Using it to show off is the only thing I can think of.

Seems like it would be a pain in the balls to type on though. Just get a notebook, it`ll do ya the same good.

meanwhile the only reason I have a laptop right now is that my 12 year old desktop finally gave up the ghost last year. I am a follower of the ancient philosophy of: If it aint broke (or still works) don`t fix it (Or replace it).

Critics are "people with brains that don`t turn off when a product from apple is in question".

I like my netbook because it`s not an oversized music player which claims to be a personal computer.

"They are six times more likely to be `wealthy, well-educated, power-hungry, over-achieving, sophisticated, unkind and non-altruistic 30-50 year olds`” Okay now lets stop right there. I agree with everything said except one thing, sophisticated. Every Apple fanboy I`ve ever met has been a self centered, ignorant moron, who`ll believe anything you shove down their commercialized, little throats. I can see well-educated, I`m sure they went to school and know an exceeding amount of information. However, knowing things is one thing, being able to process that information, understand it, and use it is something entirely different. That is intelligence, that is sophistication, and that is something most Apple user clearly don`t have.

I heard this on the radio about 3 weeks ago and it`s still not surprising. My best friend`s ex forced down her throat how much better Apple was and he was just an elitist prick.

And Neagle, you`re automatically cool for having an Asus netbooks! I got one a few months ago and it`s awesome!

You can prove anything with a pie chart or bar graph.

A large amount of people buy it because it`s Apple, not because it`s good. I know that it is not the case for everyone, but some people buy Apple products to show off and make themselves feel superior, which is pathetic. If you need an electronic device to make you feel important, then you fail.

I have an iPod Touch and can honestly say that I would gladly trade it in for a different MP4 player, I don`t really like it. If the iPad is similar (it is - just bigger), then I will hate it.

Absolutely true. I`m not interested in technology unless it enriches my life somehow, Apple owners are not interested in technology unless they think it enriches their social life somehow.
When a large percentage of selfish elitists have money to burn and think that it is ok to do so, wouldn`t it make sense that they are the demographic that would choose an electronic fashion statement?
Yeah. Although I`m pretty well off and I would never buy any of Apple`s junk.

I got a pad. I love it. Mostly I read books and play bacgammon. But I don`t think I`m a selfish elitist.

Elitist YES, but not selfish

I would love an iPad, but can`t afford one. I`m also critical of the closed nature of it. Does that make me Selfishly Independent, or an Elitist Geek?
