wait why is this scary? he`s the one following the shark. even if the shark ended up biting the boat, which doesn`t even remotely smell like flesh, it`d most likely just swim away knowing not to try and eat that poo again.

well he was in a boat- and sharks dont generally attack humans. This isnt f*cking jaws. awesome shot of the shark, though.

lol Madluk, I was ready to go oh shut up not fake, then I finished reading and it cracked me up.

However, he is probably someone that goes in the ocean often and knows sharks usually don`t randomly attack humans, (course there is always that chance they will) he seems to be not making a lot of sudden moves and splashing so he probably knew what he was doing

Was anyone else really nervous watching this? This is very boring for being on IAB.

That`s a fake shark. If it had been real, it would have been able to hear it coming. FACT: Sharks always announce their presence by saying "duun unt. duuuuun unt. duuuuuun unt unt unt unt!"

"I`m sorry to all you people who watched jaws and thought it was a nature documentary... sharks dont generally attack humans"

they do if people look like seals or something edible from below. they do "taste tests" to determine whats edible. which is generally a terrifying experience people go through

"Um, he`s definitely in a kayak with paddles. He`s not on a surf board."

In the video description on youtube, it actually says he`s on a stand-up paddle board, which are closer to surf boards than kayaks .

I think sharks are so cute lol. I mean I know they are usually relatively harmless and don`t really attack unless provoked and or extremely hungry/curious but still...what if it is curious? lol. I`d go in a shark cage but I would never swim with a shark unprotected.

I would lose my poo if I saw that and the only thing between us was a kyak.

Sharks are harmless. They only bite in defence or if they are curious about something so they just give it a little bite.

idiotfilter - he`s standing on a surf board.
Belanun - agree, these fish looked a bit agitated - he`s lucky it was a pair of small sharks that showed an interest but probably weren`t confident enough to give it a test bite.
I`m impressed with his result and his balls but its a risky business.

Anything involving large apex predators is..

he seems to be in a cayak though....so not TOO big of a deal...i would still be scared...but not as scared as dangling on a surfboard....

"he shouldnt hold a camera into the water. sharks are very interested in electric impulses. "

what`s the difference? if any part of him is in the water the shark will sense the bio-electricity too, so why not catch it on tape?

"Also seems to be a reef shark and not a tiger. A less aggressive species and seems more curious as not the time of day they normally feed."

Those are both juvenile whites and, judging by the angles of their pectoral fins, agitated ones at that. Those are common in that area. Before I left that area, I knew people who surfed there and nearby beaches and they`d see them in the water beneath them regularly. The only difference here is that it`s caught on vid this time.

Wow, that`s right off San Onofre! (you can tell by the power plant in the background that looks like giant boobs). Crap....that`s really close to where I normally surf...

alright. i read this on gizmodo.com or engadget... but the story is, he was there a day before SUP (stand up paddle) surfing, and saw them, and cam back the next day, around the same time and thought he would see them again... he did, thus, this video.

It`s a lot scarier when you can barely make out the shark in the murky water.

also, if you read the youtube description, it says he`s on some sort of board. which is crazy, if he had his legs dangling in the water.

that was scary to watch. i mean, i love sharks, i think they`re awesome, but i also have a healthy respect for them. if were him i probs would have tried to slowly paddle away. which may be stupid, but it`s what i`d do.

Also, i think he may have either just moved the camera or paddle and it startled the shark

I know a guy who goes diving with sharks every year. He tells me he never uses a cage he just jumps in with the sharks. I never went with him to see if he told the truth about that.

That was scary to watch... but I guess sharks really arent ALWAYS monsters!

@ Misiz Sjmxo - I think that was a kayak he was in.

ALso... Did he smack the shark with his Ore at the end of the video or am I wrong? Check it out again!

That wasnt very frightening. The shark wasnt showing any threatening displays. Maybe this guy is an avid watcher of Shark Week and was able to identify the shark and understand it`s behavior... or maybe he`s just a douche that would act all tough in a possibly dangerous situation.

sharks will check it out first before going for a kill... that was a great white, which has a bad rep. the only sharks notorious of attacking anything for no particular reason are bull sharks.

It was checking him out to see if he was food, if he had moved it was more likely he`d be attacked. He was in a Kayak, so under water he would have resembled a seal fleeing.
