Whenever a picture is taking a long time to load on IAM, right click it, open link in new tab. It`s not loading fast on IAB, however it will load quick on the source website.

Spawning from the 911 one, police are not legally obligated to help anyone. They can pick and choose which calls to respond to, if they even respond at all.
Though there are some places that actually have a rule, most do not.

The brain freeze one really does work if you hold it there long enough...it merely shortens the freeze....a brain freeze is caused by an enlargement of the vains which cause pressure on the nerves due to cold tempature on the roof of the mouth. You are just trying to warm your roof to get the vains to normal size ceasing the pain.

    That`s my understanding.

Heh. I got a bunch of "hacks" like this. People sometimes tell me I`m clever, but it`s really just that I`m a lazy cheapskate!

    Kitchenhacks:
Pop a fresh piece of chewing gum in your mouth right before you start cutting up an onion and it won`t make your eyes water.

Anytime you`re making anything which involves mixing powder with cooked hamburger (Hamburger Helper, taco meat) stir the powder into the meat right after you drain the fat but before you put it back on the heat and add anything else, like liquids. This will always eliminate lumps of undissolved powder in the finished food.

Got a jar of pickles that are too salty? Dump out some of the brine and refill the jar with water. Put them back in the fridge overnight and repeat the next day if they are still too salty.

    More Kitchenhacks:
Soups, stews and sauces can be salvaged if they are too salty. Heat to boiling on the stove, then cut a potato into 1/2" thick slices and cook in the food you need to fix until they become translucent. Fish them out, throw them away and taste the food. Repeat with more potato slices if necessary.

Burned bread and cookies can be fixed by scraping off the black parts with a cheese grater.

A smelly garbage disposal can be easily cleaned, just cut a fresh lemon into several large pieces and grind it up in there with the water running.

Extra cheese added to a frozen pizza won`t burn in the oven if you freeze it first.

    El Cheapo Kitchenhacks:
Frozen mixed veggies make ramen noodles less boring, just toss a handful into the water you boil for it and let it cook before you make the noodles.

Macaroni and cheese comes out a lot smoother if you mix the powder, butter and milk into a paste before you add the cooked noodle

    Miscellaneous Lazy Cheapskate Hacks:
No one should ever need to pay the extra $$$ for Tylenol PM. The "PM" part is diphenhydramine hydrochloride, which is in one formula of Benadryl. A store-brand knockoff version of Benadryl is much cheaper and is exactly the same.

Do you have cats and pay through the nose for corn-based clumping cat litter like World`s Best? Don`t! That stuff is actually CHICKEN FEED. Get unmedicated chick starter formula. It`s the same tiny granules, it works the same and it costs less than half the price of WB.

If you need to get the base of a broken light bulb out of a socket, firmly press a bar of soap into it and you can unscrew it much more easily.

Blood can be washed out of fabric a lot better if you spit on the stain before you wash it. Gently rub it in, making sure you cover the whole stain and get it all the way through the fabric then let it sit for a few minutes. Tell the stain goodbye and wash it in cold water.

Actually the one about 911 isn`t completely correct. Please don`t just start blabing information when you call. Us dispatchers have a very specific set of questions we need answered in a certain order to get you help quickly. If you just start jabbering away, you`ll usually just end up having to repeat it again anyways and that will slow any help you get.

@iiiihatejmac no you cant. Remotes put an LED on it to tell you that youve pressed a button. The human eye cant see infrared.

@the guy who said the 9volt battery one wasnt true. First, AAAA batteries do exist, though you may be right. I did open up a 12V battery one day, but I got 4 D size batteries. It depends on the brand.

Good point, but even so, if you can reach the chain lock from the outside, surely you can just unhook it?

Here`s one...never buy a used car from a dealer, he`ll charge you a 1000 extra and give you a engine/gearbox gaurantee(engine and gearbox is the last thing to go). Instead buy the same car privately saving around 1000euro, the money you saved from the dealer can then be used to rectify any problems with the privately bought car...if needed at all.

this is only my opinion...nothing more!

Baalthazaq - then what would be the point of setting the chain lock in the first place since anyone that would try to get in would turn the knob, which would release it?

aseirinn there is another good trick for cars here in the US. Car dealers here are required to show you THEIR purchase invoice for the car you want which shows how much THEY paid for it **if you ask to see it**, new or used. If the asking price was two thousand more than they paid, offer them $250 - $500 more than their invoice shows they paid for the car. They always take it.

"if you can reach the chain lock from the outside, surely you can just unhook it?"

    @KMeTG

If the door is open wide enough for you to reach the chain lock then you don`t have enough slack to unclip it. That can normally only be done if the door is shut therefore you need to be inside to do it.

The hack is a trick which allows a person outside to unclip a chain lock. Normally this is impossible.

The reason for wanting to do this is not likely to be a nice one. Breaking and entering, etc.

So how the hell do I attach the rubber band to the chain when I am leaving? That one is stupid as hell.

I would also like to point out that while this trick might actually work if you set the chain and leave through another door, you will have to use a new ruber band each time. Since one end is attached to the door knob and the other end is attached to the charn, you will breat it when you open the door.

I`ve been doing many of these things for a while. I open my bananas from the bottom, I leave stuff I need to take with me under keys and my index fingers are exactly three inches long with each joint being about an inch apart. Also if I make a "finger gun" from the point of my index finger to the base of my thumb on the inside is exactly five inches long. People laugh at me when I mention that I know this, but I seriously get a lot of use out of it!

I also just tested the remote control on my cell phone and it worked, my remote showed two small light bluish purple lights on my camera.

    Here`s what you do.

You go to open the door. OH KNOWS THE CHAIN IS LOCKED; but it`s okay I HAVE A RUBBER BAND!

you then open the door as far as you can, and push your hand through the gap.
You tie one end of the rubber band in some way around the end of the chain. you then hook the band around the door handle.

When you close, the rubber band pulls the chain out of the lock, and bwammo, open door.
