Apparently the moon was home to a sophisticated race of people. Oh boy.

Wow. Clearly that scientist wanted to be an artist, but her family would never allow it. She had to resort to this...

But she is quite a good artist. I`d buy it.

There were no moon trips in 2009? I beg to differ, Custardface.

My astronaut boyfriend told me that`s where he was for 3 weeks around Thanksgiving last year, but it was a top secret moon mission so the general public wasn`t aware. My astronaut boyfriend says they do secret moon missions all the time. My astronaut boyfriend would never lie to me.

Right, yeah forget the part about the year.

"Shopped, fake, Creationist propaganda. It says that it was made in 2009, and if it were true they this would have made more news than a little website. Also, how convenient is it that they found a little statue on the moon that was near the craft, and be able to bring in back. The moon cannot support an atmosphere let alone life. It has no magnetosphere to protect it from incoming solar rays. Life would be radiated to death."

That`s allright.

It`s possible that they may have been some noise when one of the lunar landers landed, a noise that might have had some resemblence to a bell.

The landing might have caused some vibration in the lander itself, which might have been audible inside the lander...was there air inside the lander?

With very simple answers - it`s very expensive to get there and there`s no compelling reason to spend that much money on going there. The USA only did it to one-up the Soviet Union. OK, commies...you got a person into space before us. So we`ll put people on the moon! Up yours, suckers! We`re better than you.
The moon may never have had an atmosphere, but it IS hollow. It rang like a bell when one of our lunar modules landed too hard. Look it up if you don`t believe me.
You would have to be spectacularly ignorant to fail to realise how insanely ridiculous that statement is. Nothing the size of the moon could ring like a bell. Not even if it was a bell! The trivial impact of a tiny craft landing wouldn`t have any effect more than a few feet away. The moon *has no atmosphere*. There is no sound. You could stand right next to a skyscraper-sized speaker hooked up to megawatts of amps and playing heavy metal and you would hear nothing.

This is as fake as the stories in the Daily Sport (famous for breaking the news that Hitler flew to the moon in a bomber after faking his death...with pictures of the bomber on the moon). The difference is that the Daily Sport wasn`t even pretending to be printing real stories.

Seriously if I wanted to play a prank on the whole world... I`d start with something much easier than :

"People living on the moon moved a few milleniums ago, but they forgot a statue."

And noticed how the article is about the religious-or-not meaning of the statue, and not even about the f***ing aliens ?

So funny...

BostonKaiser, I looked it up. There is not scientific evidence to support the moon is hollow, I don`t know where you get your information, unless you are referring to some long-since edited wikipedia article.
The point is, this whole idea is a load of hooey. There is no way that the sole surviving piece of an ancient race is a single, holdable statue. It`s absurd, and that website is essentially just a website equivalent of Weekly World News

How could something as small as the moon possibly hold an atmosphere?
What happened to the lady`s left (front) hand? Bad photoshop?
Why would that kind of Iron only be available on the moon? Most of what`s on the moon is also found on Earth, as most scientists suspect the moon to just be a big chunk of Earth kicked off by an impact.
etc etc.
Please don`t post National Enquirer level news on here, it`s embarrassing.

I had my suspicions right off the bat. Then, when I read something about "iron compound exclusive to the highlands of the moon, ruling out other alien life leaving it behind," I called it.

It`s a BIIIIIIIIG universe out there, we barely know our own solar system, and I`m sure there`s more than a few other planets that have that compound. And any respectable scientist would know that.
