After Iceland, is that London attempt at getting more attention from tourists?

"I`ve only been once and wasn`t crazy about it - the warm beer and crappy food would be my biggest gripe - but I still had a lot of fun there!"

This seems like a xenophobic stereotype lie, I don`t really understand it, perhaps you avoided any contact with indigenous people so lived on awful tourist food? English real ale is room temperature and mostly drunk by beer officianados in country pubs, but most Brits drink Lager these days and it`s served ice cold like it is anywhere in the World. London has some of the best Michelin star resturants in the world, as well as a china town, malaysian, vietnamese, french, green and some incredible Indian resturants, as well as lots of American fast food chains that are pretty much identical to the ones I visited in New York. Soggy fish and chip shops are actually hard to find and a bit of a myth in London. what gives?

While you are there, drop down to Brighton 35 miles to the south , it`s bohemian, permissive, secular, vibrant safe and chilled and very multi-cultural (even a fair few Americans living there) In fact you can crash on my sofa if you like.

@APJ311 Ripleys believe it or not isn`t a museum, its a purpose built tourist attraction like London dungeon. V and A Museum, Tate Gallery, Natural History Museum, British Museum, things like Sherlock home museum are all free because their owned by gov. and for the public

WOOO! LONDON Though I repeat the sentiments not a worthy video of our diverse and awesome city. Where`s Lords, Wimbledon Richmond park, , St Pauls Ally Pally...(list goes on forever) so much more to London then central and the Thames.

Tip`s for people who are coming and or those complaining about expense.

Buy a All day travel ticket if you`re here for a week get a Oyster card. Buses run every 7 minutes or so, tubes are generally well running.

Don`t go to corner shops in central go to a chemist like boot`s if you want to buy water.

All our museums are free.

If you want to do something like a west end show of course it`s going to cost(second only to Broadway.)But if you go to Leicester square you can get discount tickets on the day.

Majority of people will help you if you`re lost just have to ask.

Don`t eat food from street vendors!

Enjoy our City

@tedgp

Look at my age. Also, it wasn`t me who had it, it was my brother and he`s 13 - we chucked it away because it tasted like it had sand in it.

London is confusing. The museums are cool but I didn`t go into the Believe it or not one because it`s expensive and it was late when I got there. My brother got an ice cream from a stand and it was gross - don`t trust London street ice cream.

@Decor

Dizzee Rascal is terrible - he ruined that song and it wasn`t brilliant to start with

Why would you eat anything from a street vendor? You`re either a kid or a very VERY stupid adult.

I do love London. Only 40 mins on the train from me and it`s a brilliant City to go for a few beers by the river in the evening. It`s got a few fantastic clubs as well.

There`s always something new and interesting to do or going on as well. You can`t get bored.

LONDON IS AWESOME.

been in NYC for almost a year now, but that video reminds me of why i love London so damned much. I know it`s fashionable to hate it if you live there, but the cliche has never been truer.

i`ll be back, one day.

From someone that lives 30 minutes from central London, even I hate the place.

Museums, theatre and of course the football is all that makes it fun. Miles too busy but if you want a good night out then it does have some sick clubs.

ruined the video with that shocking Florence song though.

This video pretty much sums up everything I dislike about London - most big cities actually...
I would far rather have the solitude of the countryside thanks..

Live, work and play in London, its a great city but like all big cities do a little research before you visit. All cities have there bad sides as well as their good. One of the busiest cities in Europe (and most costly!).

Odd fact about London - it appears that within 25 years of it being founded it was a major city with very advanced (for the time) technology. 45AD - swamp. 70AD - city of ~20,000 people (a large city in those days) with impressive architecture and the most advanced water management system ever discovered from that period of time. To top it all, during that time it was completely destroyed (Boudiccan revolt) and then completely rebuilt.

After the Romans left, it took 1400 years to recover to their level of civil engineering.

Being a londoner I adore this, although hated the song. As Angilion said, London has so many districts and `teritorries` if you will that you can`t really display the true london in one video :)
Besides, who goes to London for outdoor activities? The museums are unbelievable!
When I was younger, I spent a week in the Science and Natural History museums. Wonderful places. I notice that they`re still free to visit.

I went to London for a week back in 1999 and I loved it. Go in the winter time, it really isn`t that cold, hotels are cheaper and there are a lot less people (tourists). Besides, who goes to London for outdoor activities? The museums are unbelievable!

Time lapse is not the right format for this. It just makes it jerky and generally manky.

London is, like other major cities, too big and varied to really be considered one place.

Pretty good going for a city built in a swamp as a boast by conquerors.

Despite being one of the ugliest places in Britain (IMHO), London still has a powerful aesthetic that is truly inspirational; especially when one takes the time to learn about its tragic background and how that history managed to shape the city into the wonderfully discordant mish-mash of architectural themes we see today.

I just wish Londoners weren`t such a bunch of miserable mean persons all the time! ;)

I see... cattle herd masses of humans scuttling around like ant swarms.
Yay London?

(Ok ok...I`ve been there. London is pretty awesome. If I wanted a nice vid of London I wouldn`t have used the majority of this footage though. It was pretty bad.)

Brilliant idea, i think they could have used more than just that single shot of the tube though. It`s as much a part of London as the big open spaces and parks if not more so, idk maybe it just didn`t work. In any case loving the Florence and the Machine backing track
