junkaddy: my cousin did the same, until the time he got to lunch and someone added "so did I" at the end of his note

Food gets stolen out of our office refrigerators all the time. The CEO has emailed everyone about it a couple of times, and they just moved the refrigerators to the middle of the cafeteria so they`re more visible. I suspect the next step is security cameras, and I have no doubt the company really will do it if the stealing doesn`t stop.

A friend of mine found a way to keep people from stealing his lunches - he put a note on them saying he spit in the food. Nasty, but it worked every time.

"would it be AN opossum or A opossum since the o is silent? don`t care enough to google (only enough to comment)"

it would be AN opossum, but the "n" in AN would be silent

@ScottSerious

Yes, they say that they`ll do whatever it takes. I don`t think that they could live with themselves if they lied on a note to the person that steals their food, especially as they don`t know who it is. They should definitely kill or learn to not lie.

Lets hide an opossum in the fridge or grease the floor around it :p

It`s probably someone who doesn`t realize there`s a psychotic fat-ass using the office fridge to lay in an emergency supply of chow so he or she doesn`t have to spend an hour or two without being able wrap their pudgy fingers around something to cram into their bloated gut.

It`s probably the cleaning people, in which case they won`t be able to read the note, because it`s not in Spanish.

Forget the Ex Lax- put 100 hits of LSD in a fruit cup and they`ll never steal again- or do much of anything else.

I`ve developed a dangerously high immunity in my tastebuds to cayenne pepper for just such an occasion. One taste and either they`ll hit the roof, or I`ve found a new soul-mate.

Honestly, people have no imagination. After the second time your poo gets jacked from the fridge, that`s when you lace your next `lunch` with laxatives. Obviously the person in the bathoom pooting themselves is the culprit.

It looks like something that would be posted here in my home, Yosemite National Park. You live in communal housing, and share refridgerators. I`ve had SO much food stolen from me over the years, and this is with a locked box. Drunk kids and climber bums like to break in during the night. Not much you can do about it other than get a promotion which allows you better housing.
Oh no watch out they are going to DO WHATEVER IT TAKES.

So they might write another note?
Or they might tell management who the thief is, which would probably result in the thief getting sacked. Or if management already know and are part of the "we" of the note, they might stop pretending they don`t know, which would probably result in the thief being sacked.

"whatever it takes" does not mean "far more than it takes".
Guess nobody has ever heard of a wireless webcam... or buying lunch... or packing a refridgerator proof lunch... or having lunch delivered... or bringing a cooler...
Obviously, they are satisfied with the arrangements they have now. You`re suggesting that they make significant changes from something they are satisfied with when it`s much easier to fix the problem and continue as before.

The most sensible suggestion was filming the fridge overnight, but you`re assuming that their priority is to catch the theif or thieves and do so officially, which would mean bringing action against them. I think their priority is to stop the thefts. Maybe they`re pretty sure who it is and don`t want that person sacked.

This happens a lot at my job. I even think a guy got fired for it once...or maybe there were also other things going on in conjuction that got him fired.

Anyways, I`m assuming the thief works there...therefore he makes money to buy his own food. Easy Mac is less than a dollar!!!

Eh ^_^

@Levyn, heres my favorite quote, hope you like it. "Pity for the guilty is treason to the innocent." The very fact that you could have any sort of pity for the piece of poo who dares to steal from you, rather than working for him/herself, is treason against yourself. That attitude you have is perfect for letting someone just walk all over you.

A lot of the time if someone is taking something, they need it more than you. Not saying this is right because they are taking a LOT...but when something is stolen from me, I just hope whatever they took helps them in some way because apparently they needed it more than me, to be so desperate.

This is seriously irritating. It is even MORE irritating that no one sees this for what it is. Do you realize stealing a slice of Pizza is a felony in some places? Some may think it is just food. But it is food that was bought with the money that people earn. These people need to earn their own food. Not STEAL (thats right this is stealing) the very food from people`s mouths. How long before someone gets arrested for this. SHould have happened alot sooner

My dad had this happen to him right around the time I was born. So, since baby poo is apparently yellow, he made his normal lunch, and also made a sub sammich with my poo instead of mustard.

No more food was stolen from the employee fridge.
