"I believe FOOTBALL is the correct term. Bloody Dutchmen."

Why are the Dutch to blame? The English (from GB) call it football, as the Dutch call it "voetbal" which is, indeed, a direct translation.

@ Lando Griffin. Christiano Ronaldo is not a win xD

But still, what do they mean with no score? Portugal - North Korea was 7-0 in 90 minutes =D

but they do score, dont they? bella has the edwards kid right? although, this is dumb because: 1) she needed to be human because vampires cannot give birth, but 2) edward can get her pregnant because male vampires can still procreate. so why can male vampires create life but female vampires cannot, eh twilight fans?

If you`re going to steal someone`s quote, at least credit them. It`s the kind thing to do. Twilight quote from Brett Erlich. http://roflrazzi.com /2010/06/30/funny-ce lebrity-tweets-bret t-erlich-twilight-soccer/

Unless *he* stole it, then shame on Brett! =p

"Football matches are BORING because it actually takes FOREVER to score, they`re also WAY TOO long. If they go into extra time JUST KILL YOURSELF NOW, but the only games that have extra time are ones THAT HAVE DRAWN OUT TOO LONG, so if it goes to extra time GET DRUNK AS HELL."

ftfy

America is too busy dominating the world economically and militarily to bother with the "highly skilled" game of SOCCER. ARROGANT AMERICANS FTW!!!!!!

Football matches are low scoring because it actually takes skill to score, they`re also 90 minutes long. If they go into extra time the match will last 2 hours, but the only games that have extra time are ones that have to be decided on the night, so if it goes to extra time then there HAS to be at least one score. So no matter how you look at it, this post makes no sense. Anyway, I haven`t seen Twilight but don`t the wolf boy and the "vampire" both get a wee slice of the depressing bird at some stage?

oh you guys.

you americans like to pretend you`re still so polarised... well, news for you, you ain`t. it`s all changing. my local in NYC switched off the yankees game for australia versus germany a few weeks back.

get behind the progression, football is the best loved sport in the world, america is in the world.

you do the math(s)

"90 minutes, plus 30 minutes overtime in the knockout rounds = 2 HOURS, they didn`t score, eh? so quit whining!"

only required when score is a draw at end of 90 min. which doesnt always happen.
90 minutes, plus 30 minutes overtime in the knockout rounds = 2 HOURS, they didn`t score, eh? so quit whining!
Also wrong because then they are just talking about specific matches, not all matches overall

"Typical match is 90 minutes plus injuries and the nearly inevitable overtime... so yeah- 2 hours."

actually overtime is only required in finals matches where there must be one winner. only if its a draw at the end of 90 min. but normal league games dont need it.so yeah not 2 hours.

"-Football matches doesnt last 2 hours"
Typical match is 90 minutes plus injuries and the nearly inevitable overtime... so yeah- 2 hours.

"-In Football you can score"
Having the ability to score and actually scoring are different things. Watching a "football" match is like getting a lapdance from a naked stripper after you`ve popped half a bottle of viagra- ((JUST LET IT HAPPEN ALREADY!!)) Similar to the entire moral of the Twilight movies which is thematically about abstinence.

"-The World insists that America doesnt get it"
We get it- we just have other sports that we`re good at, so why should we give a poo about something that we`re only NOW becoming competitive at? No reason at all- Just like you probably down care about beer pong, karaoke or competitive orgies because you`re not any good at them, American University students do care because they are good at those things.
