I find the religion section a little discriminatory... Most majority religions are not problematic; it`s fanatics and radicals.

I took a class in college called "Pseudoscience" that was taught by a physics professor. He was an awesome guy in his 80`s with a ponytail and a sweet beard. It covered pretty much this entire periodic table and debunked them all. It was my favorite class.

It is evident by the items listed on the credulous block of this table that the creator hasn`t taken nearly enough mind altering drugs.

DavioMagnifi - I`m with you on chiropractic...but there is hardly a person in the western world these days who wouldn`t take issue with at least some part of this table.

Good for a laugh, though.

"Not all religious people are nuts"
That`s right! They`re not! Just because they believe in something doesn`t mean that they`re crazy. When you think about it, existence shouldn`t exist. From what we know there has been no start and can be no end.

So when every thing is that insane then how crazy are a few people who believe that a higher power created us?

Um...Ayurvedic medicine is not new age. It`s been around for thousands of years. And while some if it is quackery, much of it is not. At its foundation is the idea that the food you eat on a daily basis has a bigger impact on your health than anything else, and that physicians should help patients understand how to support health in their daily lives and only use medicines when patients get sick- something Western doctors could stand to focus much more of their attention on.

Dear KPrez,
That`s Hinduism, nice try tho. They are associated with Buddhism because some Buddhist believe in that. Like how some Christians believe in evolution, you wouldn`t call evolution a Christian belief.

i think i may print this and turn it into a poster. does it make me a nerd cuz i used to have a poster of the periodic table of elements in my room? i must say it helped loads while doing chemistry homework. not having to keep a card in my index all the time and continuously flip flopping the book back and forth just to find out the f**king atomic weight of elements that exist in labratories for mere mili-seconds. F**K!!! CHEMISTRY!

"Why is Buddhism on there? It`s has nothing to do with the supernatural and makes no mystical claims."

Huh? What about coming back to life as a frog, followed eventually by eternal bliss in Nirvana?

Anyway, I have to wonder about automatic writing. I mean, compare the lyrics from Stairway to Heaven to every other Led Zeppelin song and you`ll realize there`s no way Robert Plant could have written that on his own.

"Ear candles ARE NOT irrational nonsense."

Yes. Yes they are. It`s something that`s easily tested, has been tested, and has failed to show that it works.

It`s pure arse gravy of the highest order.

Just because someone believes in something that is delusional does not make him/her delusional. It is only when (s)he tries to pass that belief off as fact, that`s delusional.

Given that this is indeed a table of bullsh*t quackery, one good thing that can be said for most of the items here is that it`s a good thing that at least a few people believe in them. Otherwise, we`d have no point of view to argue other than our own.

Yeah the uh dowsing thing there actually functions, sounds utterly retarded yes, but for whatever reason it is really helpful locating underground water lines such as irrigation and we actually use it at work. I should qualify this by pointing out that we use two thin metal wire rods bent into a n L shape and held loosely with the long "Leg" pointing outward and slightly down ward rather than a traditional dowsing twig.

"Why isn`t atheism in the "hoaxes, frauds and denials" section?"

Because Atheism isn`t a denial, it`s a realization, the opposite. People were not taught atheism, it just came naturally to the reasonable.

I was pretty sure Ayurvedic medicine is older than chiropractics...

Anyway, yeah, chiropractics works. Shiatsu works.

Some things in "parapsychology" are real, but that`s because they aren`t actually parapsychology, and are just put there because no one has a full explanation of how it works.
