What is #17??!

it`s called a roller racer, before myspace/facebook/youtube existed kids used to talk to eachother in person and sometimes even challenge eachother in physical activities. amongst them were super-soaker wars, pogs, dodgeball, and if things got serious, a roller racer race. and when kids got angry back then over a difference of opinion, instead of "trolling" internet boards, they beat the snot out of eachother.

THe 80`s were the best! People were happy to be alive and the future was so bright we has to wear shades! He thought the years 2000 was gonna be so awesome!

Too bad it turns out that now we hate ourselves and our own country, everything is fake, and people only have lives on the internet.

It should say `Memories for an 80s American kid`, because I recognise only about 2/3 of them.

I love how on number 14 it says `by-yourself enjoyment` in between quotation marks. Makes it seem dirty. XD

For people who are commenting they don`t see much 90s stuff; note that it`s IAB who made it 80s and 90s; the page itself only says 80s.

And The Neverending Story still rules, even after watching it 50 million times.

That`s not a legitimate "memories for an 80s `AND 90s` kid" without the inclusion of the Mighty Morphin` Power Rangers.

But I still nostalgia`d.

One more thing....I felt SO old when my nephew was younger (say 8 or so) and he was at my house while my hubby and i were playing the original Marios. He took one look and said "what is that??" I tend to forget that today`s kids didnt grow up with that stuff like we did.

Kids today dont know how easy they have it lol....they`re walking around with mp3 players the size of a pack of gum, when back in the day (ah, nostalgia) we were carrying around walkmans the size of a small brick lol. Also there was no button on your controller to turn on/off your console...you had to walk over and push it. My husband is only 3 yrs younger than me yet somehow does not remember Crystal Pepsi. Wtf. I remember everything on that list.

-I actually won that portable Walkman cassette tapeplayer off a TV show as a kid. And broke the volume off on the first day from dropping it.

-Fisher Price Car Park: It`s at my mom`s. I also had the Playmobil Airport

-Rocko`s Modern Life: Watched a couple episodes on TVShack not too long ago.

-The Neverending story: It`s ALWAYS on TV. and I watched most of it less than 6 months ago. Hated it as a kid though.

And I do recognize a lot of the other things, but they aren`t relevant; Street Sharks, Lawn Darts, etc...

Ok, regarding these "classics", a few of these are both nostalgic, and of my recent past.

-Zelda and Super Mario 3: I have them on my computer as ROMs for my emulator, and also at home for my 1/10th functional NES.

-Super Soaker: Bought one at Wal-Mart last year, 20th anniversary or something...and my original one still works and is at my parents place. (leaks a little)

-Wrestling plushies, I had Macho Man Randy Savage, and he was the coolest.

-Harry and the Hendersons, made my GF watch it a year ago since she had never heard of him.

-The Berenstain Bears Ate too much food: My favorite one out of all the books (the original series anyways). Leafed through it last time I was at my parents, ended up reading Tintin. (I am from a French family)

-Pogs: I have them, with slammers, in the basement waiting to be cool again.

-Slush Puppie: No nostalgia, it`s still around, and I still drink Slushies, not always slush Puppi

Wow, talk about nostalgia. This reminds me of all the other sites I have seen that have just shameless posted pictures of things from my childhood in order to get Gen X-er site hits so they can keep up their ad revenue without actually putting any real effort into creating content. Talk about memories. Good times.
