Statistically 30% of all women murdered are killed by their domestic partner. Looks like 30% of women should have shut the hell up.

I told her "No!" and she just kept on running that mouth. LOL

I think the note is a joke.
I also think everyone here needs to cool their jets. If you can find dead babies funny, you can at least muster a laugh at domestic violence.
And also, even one person on this site; try and tell me that Fritzl is not the funniest thing to ever happen. Ever.

If there is a hell, whoever wrote this note is going to it for eternity. Anyone who figures the person that wrote the note should join them. Sorry to kill the joke, but there is nothing funny about domestic violence.

Gotta lot of cop-calling superheroes in here... hope they don`t mind when the chick stays with the guy and they both hate them.

This reminds me of a comedian I saw on TV who was playing video games hard-core-like with his friends yelling and screaming and such and when his neighbor came out, she thought they were shooting hardcore gay porno...

"You just never know what goes on in other peoples homes."

It doesn`t matter what`s going on (and who`s beating who)-- if you hear violence, call the damn police. You can mask it as an anonymous noise complaint if you have to, but call them. God some people are dense.

For all the people who said "call the police"

Recently talked with a girl in my apt. building and learned something. Everyone hears their fights and assumed he was beating her up. When HE emerged with a lot of scratches and a Huge Black Eye it turns out the little 4`5" chick went Ninja on his ass and he was struggling defensively! But of course he`s too emberassed to tell people his girlfriend beat him up. [cough]pussy[cough]

You just never know what goes on in other peoples homes.

"That and the ones getting the abuse tend to stick around.. Its mind boggling"

I hear that abused spouses tend to actually believe that it`s THEIR fault that they are being abused. They think "Oh (s)he`s hitting me again! What did I do wrong now!?" because they can`t see from the outside.

Im sooo glad that people on IAB are adressing the real issues. Women are always the problem. I can only hope that I can be a good enough woman one day to please men in every way that they want. No sarcasm intended.

jib: It`s a fine line to walk, Do you call or not ? There are some clear sounds to be aware of. Choking sounds, Gunshots, Objects smashing into the walls or floor, etc... Those would all be reasons to call.

Yelling, Crying.. Maybe not so much, It`s hard to judge when all you have to go on is sound.

The last time it happened in my building, I got dressed, Took my cellphone with me, Turned off all my lights, Went to my car, Drove off, and then called 911. Didn`t have a problem with the neighbors that time. (That was 3 years ago, Glad I moved)

Wait what? He`s arrested for assault but charged with murder?? (murder most foul?)

There wouldn`t be any domestic violence if women would do what they`re told.

I called the cops on people in an upstairs apartment after weeks and weeks of constant screaming and bangs. At first we thought they were just loud but it was getting ridiculous since they were right above us and it was hard to sleep when the ceiling would be shaking. First time the cops just knocked on the door and left. 10 minutes later i heard a woman answer the door. Few weeks later I overheard her yelling "go ahead call the cops". We called figuring nothing would happen. Guy left with half his ear bit off, she was arrested, and social services came and took the kids. Few days later they were all back upstairs like nothing happened. not as much loud noises anymore though.

7. Get sued by "non-nice person"s family for wrongful death.
8. End up owing said family all your possessions for the rest of your life.

the problem with these cases is that it`s so hard to prove who is doing the abuse or even if abuse is happening, that`s why people get away with it

I don`t think calling the cops works as well as some people think. They don`t like to deal with domestic violence cases.

How to solve domestic violence:
1. Grab a baseball bat.
2. Confront non-nice individual.
3. Apply directly to the forehead.
Repeat step 3 as necessary until desired result is achieved.

"well in response to everyone with the whole "you should just call the cops!", as Riley from the boondocks put it: "No Snitching!""

So you wouldn`t want someone to help you if you were unable to help yourself, but they were more than able?

WTF is the point of a note like that "please could you be more quiet next time you beat your wife?"

It would have saved time just to call in a noise complaint.

@crakrjak
so only call cops when someone that is getting beat up is about to die? hell by that time the person could be dead. If someone is getting hurt you shouldn`t hesitate to call the cops
0

Male 762
Thats right... only if "someone is at the risk of dieing call 911" otherwise it is not worth the risk of stopping domestic violence.

Clearly the smart thing to do would to be a police officer yourself.

CrakrJak may be correct. Everything you do has consequences and it`s up to you to decide which decision you make.

If it were "MEEEE"... I`d knock on their door. Ask both abuser and victim if they are okay. Tell them both, "I can hear both of you. I know what`s going on, and if I hear it again, I will call the police. Also, I`m the only other tentant in this house besides you, so if the police do come, it was because of me. After the police do come, you better not try to threaten me, cause harm to my family or property, or so help me God I will make sure you never put your hands on another person like that ever again. And that my friend is a promise, not a threat! Have a good night, I`ll see you tomorrow at the picnic, Hank"

calling the police never does any good, but you could always go down and beat the crap out of him and possibly get yourself a new girlfriend in the process
0
Reply
Male 17,512
SmagBoy1: Yeah, Try that sometime. What will likely happen is that the victim will bailout the abuser and then you will be target of both their anger. Possibly get your car vandalized or get threatened and harassed, Because you just made yourself `The Nosy Neighbor`.

It`s not what should happen and it`s not right, But that is what happens much of the time. By all means if you feel someone is at risk of dieing call 911, But be prepared for the consequences.
