I couldn`t even read this because it looks boring and I hate whatever sport this is for.
Moving on.

so what he is saying that the rest of the cavaliers will not never betray cleveland? sounds like that place has loyalty problems.

source : "nor NEVER will betray you."

This guy "personally guarantees" that the Cavaliers will win the title? How stupid is that?

From what my room mate told me, they bent over backwards to give lebron james what he wanted, from the coach to player etc. and then he just up and left. If that is true then I see nothing wrong with this letter.

Wow, this letter is a million times more unprofessional than what Lebron James did. Get the fck over it. You lost a player because he wants to WIN. Nobody wants to be on a pooty team. I understand that it is his hometown and all that, but it`s just a sport. He went the route where he gets LESS MONEY, and MORE CHANCES of obtaining exactly what everyone plays a sport works for; a championship. Sore losers are the Cleveland Cavaliers.

ElSombrero I`m sure there is something you care about in life that is equally trivial to other people. Maybe instead of finding flaws in what other people like you can shove a pipe up your ass.

I think Cleveland is better off. He is a great player but not a leader. I saw this while watching the playoffs against Boston. Unfortunately for myself I have to still endure Mark Cuban and the Mavs.

So what if the proceeds went to the Boys and Girls club? He embarrassed an entire city on national television, and cost the cavs some decent trades by making them wait.

And yes, I`m saying it`s ridiculous:

So lets see, we have little kids missing, crazy dicators building nuclear weapons, a war being fought with our countreymen being killed, the government messing up the nation and driving us into debt, illegal immigration and drug war problems, global warming.

All very bad things, but I think I can handle them...

OH MY GOD!!!! SOME GUY THAT MAKES MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BY BOUNCING A BALL JUST DECIDED TO BOUNCE A BALL FOR ANOTHER GROUP OF PEOPLE!!!!

OH MY GOD THIS IS HUGE NEWS! I MUST FOLLOW EVERY DETAIL OF THIS!!!!!

..seriously, you guys just remind me of people who obsess over iPhones and Soap operas.

To all of you who are getting involved in this like your life is centered around LeBron James and the NBA:

How ridiculous are you? Centering your life around one man and a little rubber ball?

That being said, I am hoping Cleveland does win JUST because I am a fan of irony.

"line ten: "...Cavaliers have not nor NEVER will betray you."

This looks at first like the fabled "triple negative," but with the insertion of a comma where I think it`s intended to be, it`s a double negative. `Nor never`? Is this a typo or a subliminal, secret message?"

Thought I was the only one who picked up on that LOL A very awkward sentence.

@Nburkie420: it was ultimately about money, as it always is in pro sports. Endorsements are where the real money`s at, and winning championships will increase LeBron`s marketability in China, an enormous and rapidly growing market for the NBA. IOW, he`s taking a slightly smaller NBA contract in order to have a chance at much, much larger endorsement deals.

Not that there`s anything wrong with that; in fact, I respect him for making the right decision for himself. (Though as I said below, I don`t respect the way he did it with the ridiculous one-hour TV special.)

Sports owners are hypocrites. When they need to cut an aging, ineffective veteran who gave his best years to their team, it`s because sports is a business But when a good player leaves, suddenly it`s all about loyalty and family.

Cleveland fans have a right to be angry; "The Decision" was an obnoxious way to leave the city after they`d supported him for so long. But Dan Gilbert can go fudge himself. He and his front office had LeBron under contract for SEVEN YEARS and couldn`t provide him with the supporting cast he needed to win a championship; it`s entirely within LeBron`s right to go to a better-run team.

Really, Clevelanders shouldn`t be burning LeBron jerseys- they should be burning Danny Ferry jerseys.

DAN GILBERT IS A TOTAL JACKASS!!!!!! He shouldnt be cursing lebron he should be praising him for 7 amazing years. The only reason Cleveland was on the map for the last 7 years is because of Lebron, and as far as the people burning his jersey....I wish the jersey woulda caught their houses on fire. Lebron is not the bad guy in this situation. He gave up being a star and an extra 10 million dollars just to win. He is a prime example of a true basketball player...He wants to win. Lebron will go down as the greatest player ever, and will be part of the greatest team ever. I hope the Heat win every championship for the next 6 years and make this dan gilbert douchebag eat his words, and every time the Heat play the Cavs i hope Lebron scores 50 points and just looks up into the Cavs owners box, points at Dan Gilbert, and laughs. DAN GILBERT IS A JACKASS!!

I was more concerned with his choice of Comic Sans to write this letter in than the issue the letter was addressing. Seriously, how do you get to be a majority owner without knowing which fonts to use in letters?

This guy makes Mark Cuban look classy.

What an embarrassment. I hope Miami spanks the Cavs for years to come, and LeBron gets a triple double every time.

All I gotta say is that having more than 1 or so superstars on a team usually SOUNDS good, but it most commonly ends in disaster. There`s not enough spotlight to go around and distention occurs, and this generates bad game play and bad blood between teammates.

well this letter had no class in it, BUT Lebron showed even less class by doing his 1 hour of unwatchable tv Special on ESPN.. seriously, why dont you just play a game of jeopardy with the owners to see who gets the rights to sign you oh so powerful Lebron,

I never cared for lebron at the same time as knowing he is a great player, but this has gone beyond self centered, to unbelievable douchebaggery..

Dan`s just mad because when LeBron left he took about 75% of the Cavs value with him. LeBron leaving cost this guy millions. He would gladly take him back, so this letter is complete b.s.

Being from Cleveland, and still smelling the charred LBJ jerseys, I can tell you all this: Cleveland is just tired of getting drated by the fickle finger of fate. No, in the grand scheme of things it really means nothing. But when The fumble, the drive, the shot, the Browns leaving, The Decision, etc., etc., etc., just keeps happening here, well...wow...just...wow...

Well in this case Fancy it wasn`t about money but about Lebron wanting to finally win his first Championship. But I`m not complaining, I can`t wait to see how Miami will do with three superstars.

Fancy that happens in our sports in non-america land as well, but its usually Real Madrid in Football, but funny thing is when they have all the best players, they play like crap. lol. So its not too bad.

There is no more loyalty in professional American sports anymore--there hasn`t been since the mid-`90s.

I`m not sure how non-American countries deal with trading back and forth, but in the States, your favorite player will go to the team dangling the fattest paycheck.

You stay Classy Cleveland...good luck getting free agents to play there now.

Gilbert owns the "FatHead" company too, he just lowered the Lebron fathead from 99.99 to 17$. Looks like he`s going to ruin 2 franchises to prove his point.
