Repost, but, still really nice of them. Hopefully people will stay loyal and it will pan out for them when the economy turns

Hey, I`ve worked in retail for years. The idea behind this is really simple- going out of your way to make a customer happy keeps them coming back time after time. People who make my store their preferred place to shop eventually spend enough there to more than make up for the little amount of profit lost by giving away something free.

It also doesn`t take long for a somewhat observant cashier or clerk to learn how to spot thieves and scammers, so I`ll bet that dry cleaner doesn`t have as many people abusing their generosity than you might expect.

If I were unemployed and this helped me get a job, I would definetly come pay them back after my first paycheck. Repay common decency with common decency. Good to see it still exists.

Many dry cleaners are doing this now. Clever way of marketing. :-)

fine print: if we do, you thereby allow us the utilization of your body in our masseuse parlor next door for a period of no less than 3 weeks.

@npdarren - yes, they and everyone knows that people could and it`s inevitable that some sorry P.O.S. will, but when the ones that truly need this service use it and if 1 person gets a job because of it, then it`s all worth it.

Speaking of rat executives, check out the video just released at ReutersExposed.com about Thomson Reuters and their executives.

@Zerocyde--you only think dry cleaning is retarded because you don`t understand that not all fabrics survive the wet cleaning (laundering) process. Wool, in particular, will shrink unless dry cleaned.

Couldn`t someone simply claim they have an interview and get it for free?

Daft Punk must really love this place.

(If you don`t get it, Google "Revolution 909")

"and not expecting anything in return"

As neat as they are for doing it, they fully expect a poo load of good publicity. I wanna go there just because of how cool they are and I think dry cleaning is retarded.

That is really cool. I mean really, really cool. It`s not just pointless donations to the homeless, it`s a real "teach a man to fish" ideology that shows how good businesses can truly be.

"That said, the big laundromat in the center of town has been doing the same thing for a couple years, and it`s gotten so much support that the used clothing store next door has begun donating clothes to those who need them for interviews."

That`s really cool.

wow thats pretty sweet. i know in fl they have resturants that feed the homeless for free and let anyone choose how much they think the food was worth to them or even nothing at all. it sounds crazy i know but these places are actually breaking even...they say its a guilt factor.

Why didn`t they just shoot the sign straight on? We could have guessed it was a cleaner without the "Plaza Cleaner" sign in the background.
