some more idiotic phrases are...

`Moving forward` or `going forward`

Action item and the old nugget of `out of the loop`

`bollocks to it` and `away an s h i t e for yerself` however are not corporate speak

@ aseirinn:

if you use the acronym "imho", aren`t you just as bad as the other sheep?

incorrect...i have no problem with `win` `fail` etc, these are words from the youth in general and the masses...my problem lies in the pretencious world of `corporate speak`...i`ll give you one phrase `we`ll park it there and will revisit it at a later stage`....now please tell me if you know anyone who speaks like this outside the corporate arena...nuff said!

Calling someone a sheep because they use a word they commonly hear is kinda ridiculous. You hear it so much you start using it, too. Well, I know that`s how it works for me.

Yeah, using language used before is really sheep-like. That`s why you`re the CEO of a major corporation right? Using language and metaphors in an unheard vernacular really "mixes things up" and "keeps people on their toes". I think people should never say something that they have heard someone say before, otherwise they are just sheep, thats why I call the photocopier (xerox for the Yanks) the ink-based duplicator machine....that`s what got me a promotion. Douche.

...youve measured your success by a promotion sir...good for you!, i run a small business in a small town...keep using your corporate speak if you wish, `you go girl`...idiot!

not this.

idnc if people use win, fail, or this as complete sentences because you understand what it means. also, "this" is a good way to say iawtc in a more ... final way. like, "this is exactly what i am on about and you have put it into better words than i could ever have done" rather than "yeah, i`m of this opinion too". it`s like, if something is so amazing you just ... agree with it, you kind of just type "THIS". it`s the same with "win" and "fail". it`s very final statements. it`s basically saying what could be said in a long winded sentence and stengthening it and making it more powerful by just saying the one word.

tl;dr - "This", "Win", and "Fail" are very final statements that are more powerful than their long winded counterparts.

Actually, most photocopiers aren`t ink based. They use a process called xerography, it`s really cool. So THAT`s why you`re not getting promoted.

"Hm. I find this truly...hippocratical."

I don`t usually do this, but this is so egregious I can`t ignore it. So you mean you think "win" and "fail" have taken the Hippocratic Oath and are practicing medicine ethically? I believe the word you are searching for is "hypocritical", to act as a hypocrite, one who persistently professes certain standards or beliefs that do not correspond to his or her own actions.

In other words: FAIL
0
Reply
Female 68
Hm. I find this truly...hippocratical. I mean, "fail" and "win" could be used as either a verb or an adjective, and yes, we do use them as a single sentence. All though, it is not proper, it is a common everyday thing. I believe this picture to be a [fail]. BA! TAKE THAT! xD

Male 3,755
Really, it`s just using verbs as adjectives and adjectives have always been used as one word sentences. Awesome. Cool. Nice. Sweet. So, it`s not all that bad, I`m just a traditionalist.

You actually CAN use a verb as a complete sentence if it is an imperative sentence. The understood subject is "you"

Like if you were to say
"Go"
the subject is (You) Go.

So, "Win" and "Fail" are, in fact, complete sentences.
