I can`t believe technology has advanced so much yet we`re still wasting time walking down stairs and building esculators, when we could all just slide down everywhere

I remember the piano steps... Stuff like this is always awesome.

Good to see grown adults enjoying a slide.

davymid,

I love top gear but did not see that episode. I cannot believe that someone would try and sue them after they gave them a free car! Holy hell, that might have taken away my last shred of hope for this country of lawsuit happy retards...oh woes is ALL OF US!

When we, the American people, keep electing lawyers to office that had made a living/killing of of vendetta style lawsuits.

True, but slightly depressing, story.

In fact, lets throw in some linky goodness.

vv Jamie, sad but true. I don`t know if you know a British TV show called Top Gear. Anyways, they review cars and get up to various hijinks etc etc.
Back in 2007 they had a challenge to go to America, find a second-hand car for $1000 or less, and drive it from Miami to New Orleans (the purpose of the challenge being whether it was actually cheaper to buy a car on a US vacation than rent one).

Anyways, once they got to New Orleans (this was in the aftermath of Katrina), they felt so sorry for the poor people there, still suffering from the hurricane, that they literally gave their cars away for free to a Christian mission, to try and help out a bit.

The result? Once they got back to the UK a lawyer representing once of the recipients of a free car threatened to sue the show for misrepresentation after learning that the free car wasn`t a 1991 Camaro as they had said, but was a 1989 model. The lawyer said she would drop the suit on payment of US$20,000.

now imagine it in the US...

would look something like this-person gets on, slides down, lands a little hard, claims injuries and mental trauma, sues, wins and yet again we managed to sue our freedoms away!

those of you like me from the US know this is true even if you hate admitting it.

Every car I`ve ever had has been a Volks or an Audi. Clever ad!

coedog, I love that sentiment. drating a-right, this should be semi-perpetual, as not to make it too predictable, and somewhat random. Getting people to smile variously would vastly improve their outlooks.

How much happier would people be if everyday occurrences were littered with this type of whimsy that demands a genuine smile and maybe a giggle?

I wish they did stuff like that here.
And I knew about it.
So I could slide.
And maybe even make it in a commercial.

And there would be a bunch of lawsuits too.

I don`t think it was in Berlin, all the signs were in English. Berlin would have at least navigational signs in German.

i live there. it was berlin. you see the "u alexanderplatz" sign in the beginning? google it.

You`ll never see something that awesome here in America. It would be "too much of a liability or safety concern". Stupid people suing people for stupid stuff :`(
