That was straight from the paragraph on wikipedia YOU CITED CrakrJak. It is YOU who is being a thick toad by saying Yousef was acting under from Osama during WTC bombing. That paragraph was about Mashhad bombing in Iran like I said a seperate incident. So don`t put the two together.

Woah, woah. I didn`t think anyone believed for a split second that the US isn`t imperialist. It is absolutely imperialist. Just because the US doesn`t run the governments doesn`t mean it doesn`t hold influence, and want much more influence.

Imperialism and colonialism aren`t synonymous terms, and whether or not we actually are imperialist in the eyes of history or whatever doesn`t matter - discontented people everywhere see America as somehow responsible for many things that are wrong. I`m not saying they`re necessarily right, but rather that their perspectives affect their actions and our actions affect their perspectives.

JonasQuim: Saddam Hussein was an evil bastard, Both his sons were too. Saddam had to go and the world is safer now that he`s gone. GW Bush did the world a favor getting rid of that sumbitch. You should be grateful!

Midas-Method: America is not an `Imperialist` nation. We don`t want possession of Iraq or Afghanistan. Someday soon our troops will leave, But we will leave both countries better off than when we came.

"yet you still bash GW Bush"
He is an evil man full stop. He invaded iraq a country which had nothing to do with the 911 attacks.
Majority of the attackers were saudis but he sits there and smiles with them because of the money they hold in his and his fathers buisnesses.
George bush is an evil bastard period.

Just because more terrorist attacks are thwarted doesn`t mean at all that a country is safer - it could mean that more threats have been made altogether. This is just supposition.

But considering the advocates of militant Islamism`s main problem with the west is its imperialist attitude, which Bush exemplified, I`d say that any attempts to make America safer are counteracted by imperialistic foreign policy.

The `93 bomber, Yousef, Was indeed trained by Osama Bin Laden and Clinton knew this.

"Yousef was among a cadre of Islamic warriors who were being trained in Afghanistan to fight for bin Laden in a holy war against the United States." CBS News - Feb. 26, 2003

"Yousef generally worked in concert with, or by orders from, Osama bin Laden" - Wikipedia

Yeah CJ, You need to learn to read. Everything you said it didn`t say it does indeed say. Second: The world trade center bombing was done by Ramzi Yousef, not OBL as you seem to be implying. All people involved were captured and are now serving time. As for terrorist attacks outside of the USA well Bush didn`t stop any of those either. We can`t be everywhere at once. You really believe this crap you spew? I know you`re not dumb but your response proves you have no credibility like the rest of your republican posse.

Clinton`s missile attacks were (collectively) a REASON why 9/11 happened I`ll give you that much. There is, however, a big difference between being a reason and being responsible for something happening. You`re saying that Clinton had some degree of control over Osama bin Laden`s actions which is ridiculous, as long as he hides Afghanistan non does. No president, administration, or bureaucracy for that matter can not prevent every attack from happening.

madest: That PDB you linked to doesn`t mention hijacking planes at all, Let alone flying them into buildings, Nor does it mention a time or likely place of attack. IT only states OBL was a threat.

The PDB that Clinton recieved in Dec. 1998 DID mention hijacking planes and even to look for people trying to learn to fly them. Clinton did nothing with that intelligence, He didn`t even find it credible enough to pass it on to GW Bush when he left office.
Clearly Clinton took his PDB`s seriously because Bin Laden didn`t succeed on his watch.
January 20, 1993: Bill Clinton Inaugurated
February 26, 1993: WTC Is Bombed
October 3-4, 1993: Al-Qaeda Trained Militants in Somalia Kill 18 US Soldiers
August 7, 1998: Al-Qaeda Bombs US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, Killing Over 200
October 12, 2000: USS Cole Bombed by Al-Qaeda

Care to take back that statement Madest ?

CJ, President`s Daily Brief from August 6, 2001, headlined "Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US" Ended up being completely ignored by Bush. That was the only PDB ever released by a sitting president in the History of the US. Condoleeza Rice defended her boss by testifying that the PDB didn`t even amount to a "real warning" exposing a credibility gap that republicans continue to live up to today. It must suck to deflect or defend every action of the worst president in American history but to blame all of his failings on Clinton is absurd. It also undercuts any republican criticism of Obama because I`ve yet to hear anybody in the republican party apologize for the moron that was GWB. Clearly Clinton took his PDB`s seriously because Bin Laden didn`t succeed on his watch.

auburnjunky:
When the congress shifts in November, Obama will start to do a better job.
That`s doubtful AJ, He`s worse than Carter ever thought of being. No matter what a possible future republican controlled legislature would pass for legislation, Obama would veto it. We`ll have 2 years of stalemate, Until he`s voted out of office in 2012. That is why this democrat controlled congress is trying it`s best to ram through as much legislation as possible, They know it won`t last.

@madest:

While I agree Clinton was a really good president, I must respectfully say:

"Unprecedented growth," Due to trickle down economics, which he didn`t touch because he wasn`t an idiot, and his republican congress wouldn`t let him do it.

"Sound policy." He expanded the community act, which Carter started, which expanded the housing bubble to bursting proportions, partially causing what is wrong with our economy today.

He was a good president because he had a strong, opposite viewed congress to keep him in check. Same with Reagan during his terms. When the congress shifts in November, Obama will start to do a better job.

He (along with the republican congress at the time) was the best leader this country has had since Reagan (with his democrat congress).

Politically speaking, it`s always best to have opposing political parties in the executive and legislative branches.

First of all CrakrJak: Sources? Article numbers or something.
Second of all: None of those quotes mention any landmark in particular. Every day we hear about what`s going on in Wall Street and it wasn`t everyday we heard about the WTC.
Third of all: Do you insist on painting Muslims with such a broad brush? Osama bin Laden has been scorned by most Muslims and has been accused of distorting Islamic law.

goaliejerry: Support for Bin Laden was waning during 1998, Bin Laden wanted the US to attack to gain sympathy and support. After the failed tomahawk attacks he got what he wanted and more.
The muslim world seen him as a hero that, "By the will of allah" had survived.

If Clinton hadn`t ordered the tomahawk attacks, It was likely the Taliban would`ve arrested and turned Bin Laden into authorities. He was a pain in their neck and they wanted to get rid of him in early 1998.

goaliejerry:

After the August 20, 1998 tomahawk missile attacks, Journalist Peter Bergen says the Bin Laden press conference is a pivotal moment for al-Qaeda. “They’re going public. They’re saying, ‘We’re having this war against the United States.’” The specific comment by bin Laden about “bringing the war home to America” will be mentioned later in the 9/11 commission report.

On December 4, 1998, an item in President Clinton’s Presidential Daily Briefing (PDB) is titled, “Bin Laden Preparing to Hijack US Aircraft and Other Attacks.” The PDB says “Bin Laden and is allies are preparing for attacks in the US, including aircraft hijackings.

Clinton knew Bin Laden was planning to hijack airplanes and did nothing because the supposed `chemical plant` he co-bombed in Sudan on Aug. 20th 1998 was actually an aspirin factory and cause for embarrassment.

I mean, you know that, I know you know that, even though you now say Bin Laden planned 9/11 in response to Bill Clinton launching tomahawks during the Lewinsky scandal.

Was that why Bin Laden attacked on 9/11 - OR DID HE JUST TRY AGAIN TO ACCOMPLISH THE SAME EXACT THING HE TRIED IN 1993?

Pushed through NAFTA and GAT which have now decimated American industry, leaving either white collar jobs requiring a master`s degree, janitor jobs cleaning up poo-poo in hospitals and football stadiums, or unemployment.

Used the military as a meals-on-wheels in Somalia. Bombed (without a declaration of war) Iraq and Bosnia from 50,000 feet. Slipped U.S. weapons systems secrets to China.

But, he did do a couple things right: had the dot-com boom land in his lap, was lukewarm on Hilary-Care, and didn`t act like too much like a dictator. Probably because he was too drunk.

But I agree, compared to moves by the present and previous presidents, an ambiguous fib in court barely ranks as school-yard chicanery.

Glad he`s gone, though.
