It`s not the Muslim faith that`s the problem; it`s the totalitarian political regime that always seems to go along with it. It`s the fact that they use their faith as a mask for the Sharia way of life, where there are no freedoms and every little aspect of one`s life is dictated by a so-called "holy man" or imam. And let`s not forget that they are imminently imperialistic their stated goal is to have a world wide Caliphate, where non Muslims will be second class citizens. You don`t believe me? Google it.

I dont care if they build a mosque, just dont build it in the middle of a freaking shopping center. Same goes for churches.

True, Raokin. Many, many more churches in Houston (a ton of churches), but there are also a lot of mosques.

The point is that they are there, but nobody really cares. Basically, it`s not a big deal.

@ Supersmash: Really? I`ve never noticed many mosques in Houston. I guess they kind of get drowned out by the hundreds of Catholic churches attended almost exclusively by Spanish speaking immigrants.

necro, I know many Muslim people and like the vast majority of Christians, you wouldn`t know they are Muslim just by talking to them. There are certain aspects of their religion, just like Christianity, that may seem odd, hypocritical, cruel, or whatever, but only the most fundamental followers recognize or even believe them. It`s more of a cultural thing than a devout following.
I pity people near churches for having to hear bells ringing every hour.
I lived really close to a church with a bell tower for 4 years. The bells never bothered me (I`m not sure I even noticed them), but at night in December they`d play Christmas carols on the bells. I couldn`t help but sit by an open window and listen when they did.

LOL we have a ton of buildings like this here in vancouver. east indian, buddhist, christian, whatever. Its just normal to see so much multiculturalism here in canada, sometimes i forget that the rest of the world isnt quite as diverse.

I wouldn`t like it as the architecture really sticks out like a sore thumb. If it was built to similar design as surrounding buildings no problem.

@Pandabee, really? Never heard about that. Would be pretty stupid to let someone build any public building which overlooks a military building. It`d be like building a mosque next to Sellafield.

In the UK at the moment, generals are trying to block plans to build a mosque with two 100ft minarets next to Sandhurst military academy.

The £3million building would have a clear view over the Sandhurst and would be 400 yards from its parade ground.

I think in general, people want to be tolerant to differences. However, its a common fear that once a minority becomes the majority, they will not tolerate or respect your own differences.

Whether there`s good reason for that fear... I couldn`t say either way. Could be some truth, could be some paranoia.

It`s not racism. Religion is not a race.

It`s religious intolerance.

It`s all cool if just we don`t have to deal with them ourselves. let our poorer neighbor communities be enriched with those kind of people.
Sounds a lot like Sweden... pc bastards
