This fake crap and bad calls would cease with an video replay rule. It might delay the game a little, But it would keep players and referees honest.

Never mind, Soccer sucks.. continue on.

Is that Bill Laimbeer playing for the guys in green?
Can`t they just cheat with performance enhancing drugs like normal athletes?

Uhh, Davy not sure where you get your ideas on the origin of sports, but basketball started in the inner cities with kids tossing balls into crates at the YMCA. Not from netball.

No one is really sure what the origin of baseball was, but saying its from rounders would make games like cricket school girl games as well.

Trying to relate modern day hockey to anything school girls play is laughable, and modern ice hockey developed in Canada.

Plays like this is the reason many Americans like myself have a very hard time getting into soccer. I understand its a hard sport, but when you have players flopping around like fish and over dramatizing every touch to get a call it really ruins the image.
Its a good game for children to play, like kickball and tag. That`s about it.
Interesting differences in culture there.

*The North American sport of Baseball is basically a derivative of the British game Rounders, which is played there mainly by schoolgirls.

*The North American sport of Basketball is basically a derivative of the British game Netball, which is played there mainly by schoolgirls.

*The North American sport of Ice Hockey is basically a derivative of the British game Hockey, which is played there mainly by schoolgirls.

*The North American sport of American Football is basically a derivative of the British game Rugby, which is played there mainly by.... alright, I`ll give you that one!

Yea it pissed me off. Red carding one of Brazil`s best players when the game was basically over and all he was doing was standing there. These refs are idiots.

"FIFA, time to cut this dragging-the-heels bullsh*t and just install video referees. Every other sport in the planet does it, why the reticence? "

I agree, that way the players will spend more time working in their soccer skills and not in their "acting skills" also mistakes like this one would never happen again

McDuff73: You`re thinking of Rivaldo. To be fair he got a 2 match ban, but that`s only because if was too outragous even for FIFA to ignore.

FIFA only care about fair play or sport just so long as it doesn`t interfere with the gravy train. If Kaka was out of the final or if people kicked up enough of a fuss, they`d swoop in like they cared, but they just don`t because it doesn`t damage business. It`s a joke. They`re a sporting body who don`t care in the slightest about the sport and only pretend to for PR stunts.

Which Brazilian was it that dived dramatically to the floor clutching his face when the ball was kicked at his leg!?
I think karma just kicked the Brazilians in the nads!

FIFA should be able to over-rule cards based on reply. Don`t stop the game to watch video, but in this case it`s OBVIOUS there was fakery involved. Take Kaka`s yellow away and give the other guy a red card (post-match).
Kaka was sent off because that was his second yellow in that game. iirc

Ok, I`m brazilian and watched the entire game... so to clear up:

Kaka did NOT get expelled due to that Cote d`Ivoire dive.

Kaka was pretty pissed off thanks to constant agressive moves from the Ivoires (like this one) and after a body-slam near the end of the game, Kaka argued with the referee.

That arguing was the real cause for the red card.

P.S.: Brazil 3x1 Cote d`Ivoire, BITCHES

This is stupid, but I`m not too bothered for 2 reasons:

1. If that was a Brazilian player, you can bet they`d do exactly the same - Brazil are great, but they aren`t above stuff like this.

2. They were 3-1 up with like 5 mins to go so they were fine (FIFA won`t give him any more than a 1 match suspension and I think that Brazil are already through, so he won`t miss anything important).
the point is this strategy works.

the oposing teams best player got kicked out of that and the next game for unecesary roughness

Results Count
I dont see what would be the strategy about, Brazil has already qualify to the next round regardless if they win or lose the next game (against Portugal)

i was so mad when that happened yesterday! what a drating "actor". that was kaka`s 3rd or 4th red card EVER.

Funny thing is that ivory coast needs us(brazil) to beat portugal so they would have a chance of qualyfing and then they pull this poo....
