This makes me think that conspiracy theorists are stupid, and that`s about it. While I am firmly against the war, and would have no problems thinking the worst of George W. Bush, these sort of conspiracy things always piss me off.

i dont get how the fact that they have no hard evidence that bin laden was involved somehow adds to the conspiracy theory. you arent likely to find any hard evidence incriminating anyone that wasnt directly involved in the crime, this goes for ANY crime.

Meh... even if it was a government conspiracy it`s not like there is much people can do about it. Though some of these things do look pretty convincing, it`d be nice to actually see the evidence rather than just being told it. Like the living in the houses thing and the financial put options sound like proof but it could just be interpretation of evidence.

@DragonMeta, I could take credit doesn`t mean I did it.

I honestly do not know either way. Some may call me a drating idiot for not making a firm stance against a set up, but I honestly don`t know. I don`t know what all George Bush did. I don`t know how close the bin Laden family is with the Bush family. I don`t know any of it. So I keep an open mind for both possibilities.

    Really? REALLY?

    DAMN THIS IS STUPID!

Look at the age of the one who posted this BS..13-17? What 13-17 year olds know how to use their god damn brains? NONE OF THEM!

This is simple...our government is too stupid to pull off something as complex (and sadly genius) attacks ..especially on its own soil. (same with people who think the moon landing was faked)

Think about it this way...most of these "truthers" hate GWB..thinking hes stupid, but they also think hes involved..

    Which is it? Your favorite punching bag is either;
    A) an evil genius
    b) an idiot who couldn`t possibly be involved.

    YOU CANT HAVE BOTH PEOPLE.

i know this is bullpoo because the one about the third building falling due to fire is wrong. BOTH BUILDINGS WERE HIT BY PLANES. LITERALLY EVERYONE SAW IT HAPPEN. and even if there was a thrid building there that got caught on fire (thats reasonable i guess), it entirely forgot about the FOURTH building attacked on 9/11, the pentagon building. and that was also hit by a plane.

i truly believe that bush may have had some part in it, i know that 9/11 wasnt caused by the government in whole and mostly al qaeda but its hard to pick a side of which one.

    1. bush wanted revenge for his saddam attacking his dad and with the middle east bombing us, it was an act of war and he had a reason to go to war with the middle east he could have gone with saudi arabia, iraq, iran, afghanistan. at the time all americans knew was that it was the middle eastern country that attacked us

    2. oil, he needed a reason to be able to go there and send troops for oil and take it by force if needed so

    3. scapegoat, weapons of mass destruction, of course as we all already know he knew that there were none there, just because 9/11 happened it was another reason to send angry pissed off citizens over there

now, this could have happened at any time during any 9/11 year but it happened during bush`s presidency

    coincidence,possible i dont know

The_phantom... The WTC was consisted of MULTIPLE BUILDINGS, not just 2... If I remember correctly, after the fallout, only ONE building remained standing after it all... The main two were hit by planes and went down in fire, the third went down in fire after the first did. The rest were small and got destroyed by the falling rubble from the two main towers.

Fact #2 on this image was one of the reasons Kennedy was assassinated. He new he had the power to say no to the "powers that be" and he used it often. So they threw together a plot to get him out of their way and replaced with someone who`d let them do what they wanted. There are goings on in Washington that the average people don`t know about. Secret dealings, blood pacts, terror plots, secret government meetings... all designed to keep the government in absolute power. And no, not the President... The REAL people who run the show.

    Full of holes:

What are the figures on the put options on all the OTHER airlines? If others had high levels of put options, then other factors are likely at play.

So without that additional information, there`s nothing that can be assumed from the snippet of information revealed here.

Not enough information is worse than no information at all.

Similarly, about the steel-framed buildings collapsed by fire; they were collapsed by fire fueled by aviation fuel (Towers 1+2) and large amounts of stored generator diesel (tower 7), as well as massive impacts by planes (towers 1+2), and massive impacts by falling debris from nearby collapsing buildings (tower 7).

These "facts" are the worst kind of misinformation; not outright lies, but distortions and dissembling by ommission.

    It`s pathetic.

    1. Yea, I mean we went to war with Iraq for the same reason we invaded Afghanistan, right?

    2. Just like how Dick Cheney used his former company to make bad shut off valves for the BP oil rig right? Specifically because he didn`t think 9/11 was enough, right?

    3. None of those weapons were shipped off to other countries, right? Bush himself gathered all the intelligence regarding WMDs firsthand right?

I love how all these people are using the argument, "George W. Bush is too stupid to plan this durhh LOL" but anyone who thinks this is stupid themselves. Yes, the President is the top-man in the whitehouse, but there`s a reason that there are thousands of people below him, thinking up plans and saying "Hey, George, we want to (insert government conspiracy here), but we need your approval. How`s it sound?" He says go for it, and that`s all it takes. The government is not run by the president.

Just face it; people want to believe that there`s a "master plan" controlling everything. It gives a sense of order to confusing chaos.

It`s what makes people believe in religion, and it`s what makes people believe in conspiracies.

Because people want to believe that someone or something is in control, even if they are a non-existent god or a conspiracy that wants to harm them, rather than accept the simple truth:

    That sometimes s**t just happens.

So just stop, think, and consider the very likely possibility that NOBODY is in control. There is no puppeteer pulling the strings of the world, manipulating it to some grand plan.

All we have is a chaos of random and non-random events, all slushed in together, and any attempt to see overall patterns is likely only our own fear of the uncontrolled, and our primal instinct to see links and patterns, cause and effect, giving us false-positives.

people want to believe big tragedies have big beginnings. Things should balance like Holocause & Nazi party

so one man taking out JFK doesn`t balance and it`s a conspiracy

or one 3rd world hut dweller plans 911 doesn`t balance either.....

but that`s life people. it doesn`t always balance

I don`t buy into the conspiracy theory. If two people know a secret, that`s one too many. However, the "Operation Northwoods" project is actually true. I wrote a paper on it my senior year in college. It was the brainchild of General Lenitzer. The plan was quickly dismissed by both McNamara and Kennedy.

Okay. Physics lesson kiddos! (And partially architecture). You have a building that is especially tall, you need more support beams to hold it up.See the beams inbetween the windows? They aren`t there to look all pretty. They are there to help support the building--along with the granite wall. Now, say you have a fast moving, kinda big force moving perpendicular to the support beams. At that rate of speed, the beams would bend/break, causing the structure to lose stability. Add fire to this and you have melting steel. Suddenly you have one floor just collapse and disappear. This sudden increase in weight causes the next floor to collapse. And the next floor. And the next. And the next until all you are left with is a bunch of rubble.

    Mystery solved. Get a life.

People put the "facts" that make them look right out, they do not bother with the facts that proves them wrong that is why you only see the conspiracy theory here. People who actually believe that America did this to it`s self are just looking for things to label America evil for. These are the people that should move to Canada with the rest of the crazies and leave America for the real Americans.

That is like taking the stuff fox and glenn beck (and his crazy followers)about Obama and saying it is fact when anyone with a brain can see there is another agenda behind what is being said. Same with these "america took out the towers people" they don`t like government and will do and say what they can to make it lose credibility. There for unreliable.

Thing that bugs me about "Truthers" is when confronted with scientific evidence by independant sources you disregard it and think you know better watching grainy videos then experts who have studied for years.

An example, Popular mechanics explained how the buildings collapsed with the heat not breaking the beams but allowing it to bend slightly (airplaine fuel burns at a great heat) With the bending the weight of buildings allowed the support to buckle and one floor dropped onto another once again adding more weight onto the support below that. This also caused the famous depth charges argument in which you see the charges blowing out windows before the floor collapses.. well as one floor dropped onto another is compressed the air. this caused windows to smahs under pressure as it escaped.

When the "Truthers" were explained this the reply was "why do popular mechanics have any authority or right to say that"

I`m not on either side of this argument, but that`s the thing. I think both sides make an excellent case.

"Add fire to this and you have melting steel."

I never realized melting steel was so simple.

Looks to me like there might have been some help.

Look, I know it`s a ridiculous idea. That`s why I have a hard time saying "ZOMG IT WAS A SETUP" but the evidence out there is pretty damn solid. I`ll never know the truth, no, but ruling it out is just way more idiotic to me than how some people paint believing it to be.

I take anything mainstream media says with a grain of salt, although other sources have backed up CNN so that`s the exception.

I wish this person would give record numbers and the like instead of just giving us a broad name. Do they know how many records the SEC has alone?

Fact of the matter is a few whack jobs in a cave in Afghanistan committed an atrocity. Scared how out of control we are in our lives to outside forces you feel compelled to believe that an all powerful controller is looking after you or deciding which of you will die. Truth is it`s not but you cant accept it.

And for Gov. Conspiracy how much trouble to companies and Gov. have at keeping secrets. How much trouble to large companies and the Gov. have running the country or their corporations on a whole. The obvious thing is something like this would involve too many people it can be kept secret.
So your all wrong it could only be one group it must have been those Jew`s you heard not a single one of them turned upto work that day True we have soucres XD Any Truthers disagree with me now who`s being ignorant...

All of these "facts" can easily be explained just by using more than half of your brain.
Like the idea that somehow a 3rd building fell doesn`t make sense? Gee, you think 2 buildings twice as tall as the third collapsing right on top of it wouldn`t affect that building? You think your house would survive if two 100 story buildings collapsed right on top of it?
And simply because these terrorists were close to the government doesn`t mean they were controlled by them. Millions of people are in or close to the government, they aren`t all terrorists.

@mst4k Germany the Nazi`s and WW2 Many germans did know what was going on. Like in communist Russia people know whats going. Why was nothing done as long as you didnt you remained safe. Genral populace wont speak out against injustice if it affects their safety.

other countries knew what was happening. USA UK and all other countries knew what was happening One of the problems was we left it be rather then get involved. GB had to wait and sign the munich agreement to militarise our country so we could stand up and hold out to Germany (US had no excuse :P) After WW1 countries weren`t in a position to stand up and fight so remained quiet.

"do people just not care that these are actually facts?"

They may well be facts; but often without context, even true facts can be used to mislead.

For example, you could say that a particular chemical triples your risk of getting a disease, and you can make people panic at this huge health risk.

But not mentioning that the tripling in question is from a 0.0000000001% chance to a 0.0000000003% means that the totally true fact is still misleading because it`s taken out of context.

In this case, I mentioned earlier about the facts about the speculators betting against those two airlines; without knowing what the speculators did with the other airlines at the same time, or any other company at the time, the facts in isolation can mean anything...and therefore they mean nothing at all.

The big mystery to me about 9/11 is why was William Rodriguez`s testimony left out of the 9/11 commissions report? He had a top secret security clearance to hold the master key needed to help the firemen. Seems unseemly that such a strong witness would be the only testimony taken in secret and then not included in the report. So everything on that list is true. Our government lies to us every day.

It`s "fun" and "scary" to believe in conspiracy theories. Life would be too boring without them. It would of course be much too difficult to actually question your government AND resist from creating outlandish theories. I`m extremely skeptical of the US government and constantly criticize and question them, yet I see no reason to create illogical scenarios. After seeing the Truther`s reaction to the team on Discovery Channel from Purdue who made high tech scientific computer models and tests of the towers collapsing, I`m not convinced. They had NO good rebuttals and simply just dismissed the data without any fair observations. Now I`m not making the claim that they`re nuts, but they just embarrass themselves with their amateurish approach to the science of the whole thing. That`s my thoughts on the matter.

    1. The FBI doesn`t have jurisdiction in foreign countries except in special circumstances such as felons running into Mexico. For foreign criminals, we have the CIA.

    2. Operation Northwoods was not rejected by Kennedy, it was rejected by the DoD as soon as it was proposed. It was nothing but a scenario by a military think tank.

    3. The Windsor Building in Madrid was a steel framed building that collapsed due to fire in 2005.

    4. There were several legitimate reasons for put options on the airlines. American Airlines had just drafted merger plans with Delta, for example.

    5. As a result of our history of flight in this country, many airports have a military base, or at least military presence. Hijackers would train at an airport.

    6. So, a relative of someone in power received contracts for important buildings. Mild cronyism, yes; conspiracy, no. Stratesec holds so many contracts, it would be a wonder if they weren`t at those build

"And this proves what, exactly? That you can make uneducated assumptions?"

I`m not assuming anything. There are more pictures like that out there. If you had read my comment, you`d realize that all I`m saying is that`s what everybody on both sides of this fence is doing -- making uneducated assumptions. You just listen to people who claim they`re experts and take their word as gold. Selective hearing. If you want to believe it was a set up, you listen to the guy with the scientific evidence that supports it. If you refuse to believe it was a set up, you do the opposite.

Fact of the matter is that nobody knows for sure and that more than likely *most* people who weigh in on the subject have no actual knowledge of the things they`re spewing. It`s all just a bunch of mindless parroting.

It`s the same as arguing religion, philosophy, psychology, sociology, etc. We`ll never know the truth. It`s a dead horse.

I agree the people who believe this is an inside job disregard the evidence that proves otherwise and use unreliable sources for their "facts". All I have seen is all circumstantial. Oh look at the way that beam broke it must be an inside job or look the windows broke that proves its and inside job. You can get any number of conclusions from the facts they use. The conclusion that the government did it is just the one these people jumped behind. Suddenly we are all detectives because of information we heard of read somewhere.

I am one who feels there is something fishy going on with the attacks of 9/11 based on what I have seen. There should be no reason the twin towers fell. They fell like they were blown up, and then tower #7 fell which had no damage to it and some people even admited that the US gave the orders to blow it.

The government has screwed us like this before. Look at peral harbor. There is cold hard proof that our government knew exactly when and where that attack was going to happen. But they decided to let it happen to us as a excuse to get into the war. This was a secret that was kept till only a few years ago when the paper work was released on it.

Thats not the first, nor last pooty thing our government did to us. Not to mention like the infographic says the US government has planned something like this before, among many other nasty things.

The Second part is mostly true but is used in an attempt to poison the well, rather than look at the evidence fairly and honestly.

WTC 7 was the first, last and only steel framed building to collapse from fire damage? What about the McCormick Center in Chicago, the Sight and Sound Theater in Pennsylvania, Kader Toy factory in Thailand, the ESP Toilet Paper Factory in the UK et cetera, et cetera.

William Rodriguez held a top security clearance issed by the government so he could hold one of 3 master keys to the WTC. On 9/11 before the planes hit he heard and felt an explosion on the floor beneath where he was. Upon reaching the scene he came upon a blast area and encountered a badly burned individual who he was helping into an ambulance when the first plane hit. I believe him. Not saying any of the items in this list are factual but I know that our government conceals important facts from us.

"ummm these are factory`s and theaters. these are building that have large openings. just because there`s SOME steal in them, the large openings disproves your argument completely....."

If they are steel-framed buildings that collapsed due to fire, then the original statement was wrong.

The original statement would have to be more specific about what type of building it`s referring to if it wanted to be correct.

The original statement just says "steel-framed buildings". It doesn`t say "except for factories, etc".

"So what was your reason for showing that picture, then?"

Just to show that there`s strong evidence on the other side of the argument.

"Ah, this again. The distrust of experts.

I don`t take their word as gold because they claim they are experts. I take their word as gold because they have spent their lives dedicated to the subject, and I haven`t."

Then why do you ignore the people who dedicated their lives to the subject who believe it was an inside job? This isn`t the distrust of experts. It`s the fact that with something like this you`re going to have experts on both sides of the argument and people listen to the ones they want to based on personal bias. I don`t insult anybody with greater knowledge than me, instead I refuse to just nod my head and agree just because they do. Once again, I`m not on either side of this argument so I don`t understand why I`m getting sucked into one.

There are 10 people in the world who know the truth for sure and none of them have accounts on I-A-B and none of them are the people who do freelance research on the subject. Dismissing it with conviction is close-minded and preaching a conspiracy with certainty is too open-minded. People need to start thinking for themselves and embrace all possibilities.

@ CrakrJak, No of course not. But don`t hold a "Truth commission" and leave out half the truth. That makes it a Lie Commission. Everything he testified to is on his webpage. I`ve heard him interviewed on a local radio station. Dude has a compelling story that makes sense and gives credence to some of the truthers suspicions. A demolition crew wiring the building to blow without anyone noticing is absurd but an explosive device planted before the attack makes sense from an al queda tactical perspective.

I have found no indication that steel existed in the Sight and Sound Theater...which is not to say there wasn`t any, I just don`t see proof that there was.

The Kader Toy factory was NOT steel-framed, it was steel-reinforced.

The ESP Toilet Paper Factory contained steel, but was not steel-framed; also, the walls did not collapse, only the roof collapsed.

Uh, ok. First off, a put option is not a bet that a stock will fall and loose tremendous value. That would be a short sell. And just saying a put option was "placed" doesn`t even clarify if it was bought or sold. So if I sold a put option, for example, I would want the stock to rise. Also, puts and calls are often used in other more complex financial deals that have little to do with the underlying asset. Also, causation does not imply correlation.

TL;DR, this is an oversimplification of wrongly interpreted facts worded in a way to sound more intelligent that in actually is. Also, drat you retarded morons who believe this poo.

A lot has been said and written, and I`m sure if you look hard enough, more `suspicious` things can be found.
    The basic question is this:
Could something like this be pulled off as a conspiracy?
    Maybe. Stranger things have happened.
All things being equal, the only piece of footage that I`ve seen that sticks out as a sore thumb that something isn`t right is the collapse of building 7. So I wouldn`t be surprised if within my lifetime some document surfaces that indicates internal involvement.
In any case, RIP to those who lost their lives that day, as whether it was friend or foe, these people lost their lives for no good reason.
May their families prosper with as little pain as possible.

If they went through all this trouble why didn`t they just plant WMDs in Iraq instead of making themselves look like complete tools when there were none to be found? IDK it just seems like Al Qaeda gained a lot more from 9/11 (asymetrical provocation, read Mao) than the government ever would have. Besides the government sucks at conspiracies. Remember Iran-Contra or the Pentagon Papers? Seriously, there is nothing the media in this country loves more than making the government look bad.

Why do you Americans feel insulted when someone places your government into a doubtful position.

Do you really think they care about you and your family/friends that suffer because of their goals (whatever those may be?)

It`s not the first time in history that a country inflicts self-destruction and creates suffering in their country by their doing, just so they could `gain` something out of it.

Bush would have -NEVER- received a consensus from the American people if 9/11 didn`t happen.

After 9/11, America was shocked, dispaired and blinded by rage.

Which, ultimately, lead to hatred towards a group of people that could not have been responsible for the act of terrorism.

The government is not your best friend. It never has been, nor will it ever will be.

As much as you realize that there ARE people out there that would HARM YOU for their INTEREST, so too you should realize that `THOSE` kinds of people are also working in h

When are conspiracy theorists going to realise that their lies about building 7 are now so well known that repeating those lies results in an immediate dismissal of everything they say?

I mean...what do you expect to happen to a building hit by hundreds of tonnes of debris that rip a multi-storey hole in it?

You`re arguing that the *only* thing that can damage a building is a plane. Which is a monumentally stupid argument. Anyone who uses it is a liar or a fool. Or perhaps both.

I am one who feels there is something fishy going on with the attacks of 9/11 based on what I have seen. There should be no reason the twin towers fell.

Huh? They were hit by very large objects travelling at very high speeds and carrying very large amounts of material so flammable it`s explosive (aviation fuel). The buildings were also full of flammable things.

They fell like they were blown up,

No they didn`t. Not even close.

and then tower #7 fell which had no damage to it

Apart from the drating big hole, the other holes, the multiple impacts and the fires.

and some people even admited that the US gave the orders to blow it.

Some people admit they`re the reincarnation of Elvis. Doesn`t mean it`s true.

An excellent summary. Reality is not as interesting as fiction. Spy novels, video games, films, conspiracy theories...they all make up more gripping stuff precisely because reality generally isn`t.

People with power may sometimes get together in private clubs to make discreet arrangements to help each other, but that`s not a secret organisation for ruling the world. It`s just the eilte maintaining their position.

Governments may use things to increase their power, but that doesn`t mean they caused those things.

Reality is more mundane than fiction.

yeah, the trick with conspiracy theories is that, the people who believe them dont check their facts. They don`t properly research any bit of information. They take quotes, snippets, anything that fits their `suspicions` and run with it.

But CJ! The left is REQUIRED to believe 7 impossible things... before breakfast! lolz!

Now, someone explain the Pentagon to me please. Which the 9/11 `truth` comission completely avoided, and the official explaination defies ALL logic and laws of physics.

Less believeable than the "magic bullet" eh?

There are at least 3 (three) films of the event, two of which have never been released to the public. The one which was `released` twice, is still missing the key frames which would show the aircraft. Suspicious? Hell yes.

The talk of the towers and building 7 is just a distraction to avoid the subject the government really has no answer to, namely the Pentagon attack.

What gets me is that on the morning of 9/11, NORAD was running a drill on what would happen if a hijacked plan hit a building. In fact, there is recording of a pilot saying "Is this real life" after being told to scramble to NYC.

Also, on the same say as the London subway bombings in July `05, they were running an exercise on what to do if bombs went off.

    Weird.....

Let`s be serious here. Conspiracy theorists grasp at the smallest straws. It is disrespectful to the over 3000 people and their families to call this a conspiracy. The north and south towers didn`t collapse due to fire, THEY WERE HIT BY MASSIVE PLANES. WTC #7 was right beside two 100+ story towers that collapsed, I wonder if that effected the structural integrity of the building??

And just because the Pentagon didn`t have the airplane cutout you morons were expecting doesn`t mean it didn`t hit the building

I mean the central mass of the plane formed a mass which then went flaming through the building almost like a projectile because of the speed of the impact. Also, debris was found outside of the pentagon. I`m glad I watched the history channel debunk this BS.

I`m thinking people like yourself, CrakrJak, AuburnJunky, AnarchistGod, OldOllie, and others. CrakrJak, anyone saying that he planned or directed a thing has not observed him as a person. He is a follower, not a leader.
He is not the sort to build a precise plan but, choses to latch onto and exploit the ideas of others.

I don`t think the WTC was a government plan in the least. I think it was
    an insurance job
which did need help, be it through compliance, confusion or incompetence but, everything else seemed a little too tacked on.

    My questions on that are:
-Who decided the training mission would be that day? Obviously, that person`s office had a leak.
-Why were there so many WTC evacuation drills if no one suspected an attack?
-How does a guy that has trouble with a prop plane do a 360 in jet with no slide? When a plane banks, it tends to lose altitude unless trimmed but, he didn`t lose any. Why did he 360?

"...Also, debris was found outside of the pentagon..."
There was a news crew that film live from across the freeway less than 9 minutes after that event. They showed the hole with thick, black smoke billowing out. I did not see any plane parts outside of the building.
I`m willing to believe that the debris came from inside the building, after the event.

They also did not they shoot any knocked over posts which is not to say that there weren`t any but, on a whole, the scene as shown two days later looked different than the 9 minute footage.

I prefer to look at conspiracy theory plagued events with as much objectivity as I can. You will (read) me saying: "The particular slip is suspicious. >>It is not an admission.<<"

That having been said, there were a few too many coincidences around the sequence to ignore. It seems to me that the official explanations were riddled with more "guess at explanations that fit" than "collect accounts and sort events by time."

Transversely, there is a lot of conclusion jumping which is what makes a theorist look most incredulous. A conspiracy of this sort would have taken the cooperation of a large amount of military/federal personnel. Too many for none of them to come running out screaming "Soylent Green is made of people!" or some such thing.

I have a question from another angle:

Why do you conspiracy theorists *want* to believe the attacks on the USA were carried out by the USA government/a USA business as an insurance fraud (WTF? are you insane?)/<insert secret conspiracy group here>?

Does it make you feel safer? Do you feel special for "knowing the truth"? Is it some kind of pseudo-religious thing, being a follower of the Secret Truth with the possibility of being a prophet of it?

I spotted someone questioning why there were "so many" evacuation drills in the WTC.

    i) How many is "so many"? I`d bet good money that you have no idea how many were done and you`re just accepting the claim on faith.

ii) All buildings should carry out evacuation drills frequently. I work in a bingo club and we carry them out monthly. In a bingo club. Not an important or vulnerable place.

iii) The WTC was large (and therefore a fire was more likely somewhere in it), inherently difficult to evacuate because of how many stories it had and it had been attacked before. If I had been in charge of it, I would have ordered regular and frequent evacuation drills. Those drills are a pain in the arse, but they save lives if an evacuation is needed.

Because, we want other people to stop being so damn ignorant and look at what is going on. We also want the people responsible to pay. If i had a loved one in the WTC, bush would already have a bullet in his head. Also, don`t say that i just don`t like bush, I only don`t like him because he killed thousands. Every bit of "scientific" evidence i`ve seen about how buildings collapse etc put forward to someone in their basement. I`ve then seen get discredited by a authority in that field like architect`s, engineers or scientists.

As for the accusations the Government knew it was going to happen but let it. The Gov. had info in various departments and sources. But no guy in overiding control above it all. so the dots didnt get put together and the attack stopped.

Wan`t to see a repeat performance of Gov. incompetence(if it can be called that) Look at the Christmas bomber which only failed because trigger didn`t go off. Loads of different organisations had different bits of Intel on him but no one collaborated it together before the attack.

In the interviews of survivors, the manager of a data center in building 2, 30th floor said that there were randomly timed evacuation drills for the entire two weeks before that event. He was so annoyed with the drills, that he gave up on coming to the office the day of the event.

Sooooooo... why would they rig the buildings with explosives and also fly planes into them? Why not just do the plane thing. Or just the bomb thing. Not really necessary or practical to do both. Also, most fires aren`t fueled by gallons of jet fuel, so there`s that.

"If such a conspiracy DID exist, all they`d need to do is make sure security is lax, then wait."

If someone comes close to doing to carrying out a terrorist attack, or carries out a small-scale attack the government would be accused of being lax on security. And if the attack wasn`t as successful as, say, demolishing important buildings in new york, then there could be no war, the government would be accused with being war-mongering.

"Why not just do the plane thing. Or just the bomb thing."
Planes, as you may have noticed from previous examples don`t usually destroy buildings made of steel, let alone make them suddenly plummet down without warning...
bombs, the amount of explosives that would be required to fell a building would be immensly more than can be taken through a building with such a large amount of people. An army of suicide bombers would basically have to walk in an possitionthemselves throughout the building; again the problem

    CrakrJak,
    A. I do not have a tin hat. It`s just that when 7 or 8 thousand people say "Hey, that`s suspicious!" I ask "What exactly is out of place?"

    B. I`d like to point something out about the link you gave: If John O`Neil was the site manager of WTC security then, he work for or with Jonathan Bush (cousin) and Marvin Bush (younger brother.) If O`Neil, having contacts in the intelligence world, was so personally alarmed that he ordered a series of drills, don`t you think he had to explain to his counterparts his cause for alarm?
Those three people in one place at one time is something out of place.

In telling the story of "Connect the Dots," the time line is missing some key steps in the pre-establishment of "The Base" between 1979 and 1986.

CodeJockey: From your own link - According to CNN journalist Peter Bergen, known for conducting the first television interview with Osama bin Laden in 1997. The story about bin Laden and the CIA — that the CIA funded bin Laden or trained bin Laden — is simply a folk myth. There`s no evidence of this. In fact, there are very few things that Bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri and the U.S. government agree on. They all agree that they didn`t have a relationship in the 1980s. And they wouldn`t have needed to. Bin Laden had his own money, he was anti-American and he was operating secretly and independently. The real story here is the CIA did not understand who Osama was until 1996, when they set up a unit to really start tracking him.

    @d_katman:

"Planes, as you may have noticed from previous examples don`t usually destroy buildings made of steel, let alone make them suddenly plummet down without warning... "

You have a big list of examples where large passenger jets have collided with skyscrapers, have you?

What do you EXPECT to see when passenger jets hit large 100+ storey skyscrapers? Because as far as I`m aware, you DON`T have any previous examples of this scenario occuring to point to as your basis for expectations!

I mean, for pity`s sake; what on EARTH are you basing your "jet planes can`t destroy skyscrapers" assumption? There isn`t any precident to refer to!

    @dannyseven

"I don`t think you understand insurance fraud. That would just be grand theft auto."

Deliberately trying to get your vehicle stolen in order to collect on insurance is insurance fraud.

CrakrJak, in an interview, I believe aired before mid-2003, Prince Bandar explained that he did not expect Bin Laden to attack the US, having seen him at one or more weddings in 2000-2001 (between relatives of each man, I think Jimmy Carter was at one.)

Paraphrasing the prince: "Osama walked up and took my hand, thanking me for introducing (us) to the Americans back then..." -(I think this was Larry King show, a rare time the I watched television.)
This indicated to me that Bin Laden:
    - was among the Afghan anti-Marxist rebels.
    - direct or not, benefited from CIA provided resources.

Given his proximity to the Afghan rebel groups, being a person that was providing funding, I don`t see how he and the CIA could avoid overlapping trained personnel while operating in a country with less than 10% paved roads.
Intentionally or not, the CIA supplied his group because of common interests before `89.

From there, it`s naive to think that the same personnel with surplus American and Soviet hardware/material were not used against the US and it`s allies. Your own Connect the Dots link pointed out that they stayed in contact and even operated after the veterans had move to safer, more civilized nations.

For those who believe in grandiose conspiracies such as this I have the following to say: you can throw together as many coincidences as possible, say whatever ignorance about engineering as you want but you undoubtedly have consistency flaws. How can you even believe the government is so competent to pull this off? Look at any drating project. The motives don`t even match well as such a genius government would realize there are other ways to accomplish the end objective (WMD`s in Iraq could always have been stated, though I don`t believe its a conspiracy). You could counter these points but when it comes down to it, conspiracy theories are exciting and interesting but reality is not so much. Get your mind around the real issues instead of entertaining such idiotic ideas.

I believe these counter conspiracy theorists are funded by the government. Why else this stupid debate?
