Ooohh how sad and true this is. On both the female and male front. Incase all you sqwaking twlight fans missded it. There is a dig on guys too. And that was the fact they vicariously live out their fantasies via porno.

Any writer that uses the line "Her traitor tears betrayed her" does not really deserve to have their work lauded. Redundancy, a great novel does not make.

I think it`s funny how guys who are jealous of the the attention the two "hotties" from twilight are getting pretend that it`s only girls who watch the movies and read the books. Give me a break.

If I was a lego brick, the only thing I`d be worried about is being stuck to another lego brick and never being able to get away from it... unless that lego brick is my soulmate. Or I had a persistent human eventually pry us apart. And then... It have dents or teeth marks

Loxen:

I`m very well aware of the `role` group mentality plays in our society and its extent. I, however, don`t agree (or view it in such way) that if a group increases in quantity it should automatically mean that their shared opinion applies to everyone. In no way can it be concidered a `fact`. Opinion versus fact, 101. Give me your adres so I can lend you the book. :)

Just because a large group of people shares a certain opinion implies in no way that someone else (that has not yet read the books) couldn`t potentially enjoy it for what it is.

Say for yourself, it`s pretty narrow minded to automatically dismiss something just because a large group of people says that it`s not worth your time.

I`m not a Twilight fan myself. But I gave the series a try. What I`m trying to convey is; Anyone -COULD- potentially enjoy the series. Regardless of what a large group thinks or has to say about it.

The Oatmeal was credited twice, though--at the end, and at the bottom near the end when it says "scene missing."

Unless they`ve just added it in or something.

Altaru: I actually do agree with you that it`s
hard to `move on` from this, when everything and
everyone is trying to shove it down your throat. It makes it difficult not to be affected by the
fanaticism of others.

I also find it pathetic that you would allow a
simple discussion such as this to get to you?
No need to become all aggresive. If you can`t handle a discussion and despise the Twilight
series that much, stay away from these posts.

Get over yourself and enjoy your day. : )

I did not see a single credit to the Oatmeal. I don`t think The Oatmeal would release a video so horrifyingly dull. Especially one of an article he already wrote.

Stephanie Myers sucks. She idealizes obsessive and controlling behavior. She idealizes chauvinism. Plus, I`ve read fiction by 13-year-olds that`s better than this trash.

Unfortunately, Twilight is just one of many in a string of vapid entertainment for insecure women.

This guy stole almost all of this (including every picture) from the oatmeal.

Unless this actually is the oatmeal, in which case I lost the small amount of respect I had for him.

As most have pointed out, you don`t show how boring one thing is by being boring yourself.

oh and additionally, the sparkly vampire concept...... was that a last minute decision, or purposefully INCONCEIVABLY STUPID?
Does the author think she can change the concept of a vampire since the dawn of vampire fictional existance for the sake of looking pretty? It`s a known staple: vampires painfully burn in the sun. Somehow getting *sparkling* from burning flesh is not possible. She pulled it out of her ass, and what an arrogant ass that is.
The new age vampire is a raging pussy, thanks to this lovely series.

It`s okay to like or dislike literature... like whatever. But just like godaweful Miley Cyrus (who`s COHOSTING THE EFFING MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS... end of the world as we know it), Twilight has squirmed into our daily lives viciously and without mercy, whether we like it or not (The media, annoying fangirls, ads, promotions, merchandise (which includes EDWARD CULLEN UNDERWEAR! D:<)) and quite frankly i`m sick and tired of hearing about this sub-par movie series for the 92845th time.....
I can say this because i`ve attempted to watch Twilight and quite frankly it bored me to SHREDS. Kristen Stewart is a terrible actress (she is boring and lacks emotion. i`ve seen more emotion in grass clippings), Robert Pattison is over rated, not to mention greasy and *gasp* NOT THAT ATTRACTIVE. well, each to their own i suppose. The sad thing is that they`res other amazing movies and books that actually DESERVE this much attention that sadly aren`t "appealing to the masses".

Books, porn, videogames, etc. are all based on the simple concept of fantasy being greater than reality.

Twilight isn`t that great. Get over it people. The vampires I like were the ones who actually die in sunlight and they really suck peoples blood. Now they are sparkly. That is not a vampire. That is a closet gay.

I subbed for a class of second graders a few days ago. Twilight came up after some girl mentioned it, and after polling the class, I found out that about 2/3 of the girls had read it. In second grade. So the whole "anyone`s been through puberty" thing doesn`t really work.

@ EdiMesic

If you like the modern comforts of this thing called society (technology, doctors, general safety from grizzly bears etc...) then you have to deal with group mentality.
That`s when 1 person who thinks something is good or crap, finds another person who agrees its good/crap, and they in turn, get a bigger group going...and it generally dictates the rules in which that society functions. If enough of them think something is good or crap, its pretty much accepted as fact that that thing is good or crap. This is how culture is formed, and refined (for better or worse).

Now, if you don`t like that idea... you can always get a commune going of your own like minded individuals. Though finding enough people who think Twilight Fandom should go unpunished may prove difficult.

I`m sick of people pulling that "you`re just joining the collective" crap.

Sure, maybe some are, but then there`s others that got SICK AND TIRED OF HAVING A SH*TTY BOOK SHOVED DOWN OUR THROATS.

For WAY too long you could NOT avoid it. Fangirls were screaming, the news was reporting it, every other commercial was about either the new book/movie or some promotion at some restaurant/store, etc.

That`s died down now, and guess what? So has the opposition.

That`s why people don`t rip my favorite authors and books. Because they`re not SHOVED DOWN EVERYONE`S THROATS.

So STFU and stop trying to psycho analyze people when you have no clue what you`re talking about.

And for the record,I HAVE read the first book. It made me vomit. Right in the middle of it, then return it to the library.

Would also like to add that I`ve had plenty of
friends that were overthrown by the opinions of said individuals and for that reason didn`t
venture in giving the books/movies a fair try.

They gave the series a try.
Some of them loved it.
Some of them hated it.

But at least they gave it a fair try and didn`t
deprive themselves of a (potentially) good experience.

Try not to follow the opinion of other people.
See and try for yourself. And if you like/hate it
afterwards and BASE your opinion on your experience, I will value it even more.

To this guy and everyone ripping on Twilight:

The series have been criticized on all levels and aspects. It`s all been said and done before!

But seriously now, get over yourselves.

I don`t like Twilight that much myself.
But it`s called a `personal taste/preference`.

Why rip on people liking it? No one rips on you for reading [insert author/genre].

There`s always going to be people that like it.
There`s always going to be people that don`t.

Deal with it. Stop acting pathetic and move on with the things that you DO find enjoyable.

Also; I`m pretty sure a lot of `sheep`, as I like to call them, are just following the Twilight-hate-group just because it makes them feel part
of a collective or opinionated.
Because, well.. if SO MANY people hate Twilight, then it MUST be bad. Let`s just say Twilight
is gay without having actually read/seen
the books/movies so I can be part of a large group and go with

The Oatmeal`s thing was better, since I didn`t have to put up with that voice... And they should have left the "Pants instead of Bella" thing.

That aside... It`s all true... It`s SO very true...

@mcfudge: My friends and I talk about how bad the books are. I`m the only one who`s read them, but I think this gives me greater fodder to taunt the books. Even while I was reading them, I had a hard time getting over how poorly written they are.

mcfudge, i dont think you understand. People who have read the book in the real world are everywhere. you cant go anywhere without being near one of the twilightians. The internet is out last refuge. there exist far less twilightians on the internet. And then all of them go to mylifeistwilight.com... In other words, the internet is the last refuge for us. don`t ruin it.

I extremely dislike Twilight and never saw the hype. At my old job, all 3 of my female co-workers, all different ages between 23 - 50, LOVED the books. Since they were also my friends, I agreed to go with them to New Moon. (I had never read the books or seen the first movie.) It was one of the most BORING movies I`ve ever seen, ever. I`m usually open to any and all movies. I love drama and chick flicks. But Twilight is the most god-awful thing I`ve ever put up with. It was also really annoying. Ugggh. Vampires & teen "romance" just don`t mix. If you can even call them vampires.
