The Bee Vs. The Spider: Battle Royale!

Submitted by: Batmanners 7 years ago in Misc

It"s the I-A-B Animal Fight Championship--a fight to the end. Anyone else find the narrator sounds a lot like Stan Lee?

Thats pretty big for a jumping spider. Most of the ones we get over here (UK) are less than 5mm in size. Cute. They often swivel their heads up to check out an observer.

Crab spiders are more impressive in that they`ll ambush much bigger prey.

The real battle royal is wasp vs spider. Big parasitic wasp pwns tarantula as a living foodstore for baby wasps...

Yeah, I agree with the previous posters, Oprah`s narrating killed Discovery Channel`s latest nature series.

"All this shows is how annoying American narrators make even nature tacky. Yikes? stfu."

Oddly enough, the narrator sounds A LOT like Stan Lee.

That wasn`t close to Stan Lee`s voice, true believers.

And Gerry, the spider isn`t attacking the bee because he was trained to fight, he`s hunting for food to live.

Am I the only one who imagined Pee Wee Herman as the voice instead of this guy? Sheesh.

@Gerry1of1

I think the training of a dog to fight another for entertainment and money is the immoral part of it.
Dogs have intelligence that a bee or spider doesnt?
We can`t see emotions in a spider or bee, but we can see them in a dog

Why is a Spider/Bee battle to the death for our entertainment okay but 2 dogs fighting is "immoral"?

I would have preferred David Attenborough for this by far.

Imagine how much better this would`ve been if Samuel L. Jackson had narrated it...?

@pooptart:

OMG we agree on something.

I kinda of liked how she sounded like a freaking robot, and ruined the show.

Why did they overdub Attenborough?

Goddamn I hate spiders. And you gotta love the happy music once the spider kills the bee. I was expecting the spider to walk into the front door of his house and say "Honey, I`m home! And I brought dinner!"

slab-of-rage, I don`t remember Sigourney Weaver being overly dramatic when she narrated "Planet Earth" for American audiences. Just sayin`.

slab-of-rage: I agree, it`s like you can`t keep anyone interested without talking to them like 5-year-olds.

Holy poo! Someone tell National Geographic I really could`ve done without the nightmare fuel of those big drating hairy spider eyes when I opened the page.

@slab:

While I respect Attenborough and think he is the best, I have to quote something he said from a doc a few years ago after you saying that.

"My gosh. Look how it sleeps. It`s in heaven!"

The animal? A lion.

Can a bee, be said to be an entire bee when half the bee is not a bee, you see?

Sounds nothing like Stan Lee.

I`m not attacking America when I say this, but I hate American narration on documentaries like this. Everything seems to be needlessly over-dramatised to make it exciting, you can`t beat David Attenborough for nature programmes.
