Madest, obviously your a very successful liberal. 40-49 years old, a green name on IAB and over 2000 posts. Wait a minute, I know why your a liberal, you`re just waiting for someone to pay your bills for you, and someone else to find you a job that you dont want. I think its time to move out of your mothers basement and contribute to society a bit. (by contribute I mean something other than posting conservative slams on your rent-a-center computer next to your green name.) By the way, thats not what the hippies meant when they said to "go green".

I never claimed Bush wasn`t a moron and it sure seems like his predecessor wants to one-up him in that department as well. He`ll just look classier falling on his face. And it sure does feel like we`re paying a `penance` right now. And thankfully it will only be for four years.

As for the rest of your argument none of it supports the current condition of our country. For someone so "well educated, determined and hard working" it sure hasn`t improved much other than to push unpopular agendas (which can be proved by polls). Under our "well educated, determined, hard working president" we`ve gained:

-9.9% unemployment
-MASSIVE deficit spending
-A HUGE oil leak from BP (which Obama`s administration approved the drilling & safety standards)
-A MASSIVE Health Care program that now exceeds $1 Trillion (despite promises from Dems it wouldn`t go that high) that we won`t get the `benefit` of until 4 years from now.

Okay, time to set things straight, AGAIN.

"He pretty much used his senate majority to push any legislation he wanted, and he got tons of dividends and whatnot for the rich, and tax breaks for companies, and all sorts of wonderful things for the .1% of our nation."

Seeing as how the majority of BOTH houses were captured by Dems in 2006 this quote seems pretty asinine. It took a whole lot of Democrats to approve all that spending since 2006. Not to mention bipartisan support for BOTH wars. I`m not saying Bush was great, I`m just showing that Obama sure isn`t either. In FACT, at this SAME point in Bush`s career (2002) his poll numbers were far better than Obama`s. Another fact, Obama had the BIGGEST poll rating drop in 50 years.

Whaaaaaaaaaaat!?!?!?!? Seriously!? Again! Bush. Are you on something my friend? He was ABSOLUTELY AND UTTERLY PARTISAN. Nothing he did was in the benefit of the majority at all, hence why the majority hated his ass.

@auburnjunky Clinton is one of the BEST presidents. Period.

@patchouly It`s unamerican to be as complacent as we are with our government. We should ABSOLUTELY criticize things that we aren`t happy with. The problem is, it seems that typically, the people who are willing to go out and do anything about it tend to be idiots that think Obama is a terrorist and are upset because he is taxing them (because they have higher incomes) to improve the country.

I think the worst part is that Obama came in promising social change, and everybody jumped on that bandwagon because they thought that meant that once he was voted in, he would just take care of everything for everyone, and their commitment was finished. A lot of these people are upset because he is trying to be bipartisan when he does things, which means that they take a hell of a lot longer to finish, and that the original intention is diluted.

Okay, listen up Euro and Canadian commentators on OUR president. The same people who voted for Obama are the same people complaining about his BROKEN promises (see previous posts) and current inaction regarding securing our borders from illegal aliens (ie. criminals, drug dealers, human traffickers and middle eastern terrorists). As well as, his current lack of action regarding the BP (who gave more money to Obama above all other political figures) oil crisis in the Gulf of Mexico. He`s refused to even RESPOND to requests for help from the Governor`s of Texas and Louisiana, while he`s currently persecuting the governor (and the state) of Louisiana for trying to do the Federal governments jobs. So unless you LIVE in this country, shut UP!

Invade it on some flimsy pretext about Weapons of Mass Deception, then decide he can`t withdraw for 10 years because of internal instability in the region.

One more thing about your chart. I was looking at it, and I don`t think the point is what the dollar amounts are.

I think the telling part of it is, the distance between the dots.

Around 2007 when the dems took the legislature, the dots start to get farther, and farther apart.

I`ve also said something about Presidents from Texas and a similar pattern. Here it is:
Both of them lead us into an unpopular war (LBJ did lead us into VietNam) and both of them--brace yourself--expanded social welfare. There was LBJ`s "War on Poverty" and Bush Jr.`s faith-based initiatives.

The money Bush spent went towards a war, that was pathetically mishandled.

Everybody wants the government to do only the social programs that help them in their specific case out, and they don`t want to have to contribute to the things that help other people.

Bush didn`t lead us into an unwinnable war, he lead us into a poorly planned, and (eventually) unpopular war. The war was started under false pretenses. Nuclear weapons, and an alleged linked to al Qaeda.
Newsflash: Al-Qaeda and Saddam were enemies. Osama openly called Saddam an apostate. A 2002 CIA report showed a relationship where both parties were trying to feel out and exploit each other. Osama by many standards is the most hated man in the middle east. Once more, members of Bush`s cabinet wrote a letter to Clinton, as president, URGING him to invade Iraq. Once they were in office, it was only a matter of time. As for troop withdrawals, I certainly agree a rapid one won`t help, but what I oppose is the idea we`ll stay there for "as long as it takes". No sir, we are NOT going to babysit the Iraqis. They have to step up and we gave them a deadline to do so.

Why in the world would Obama fly to Germany to try to become president of the US? BTW, he hasn`t achieved anything but putting our country into trillions of dollars deeper into debt. In 2008, Bush`s last year in office his budget deficit was 458 billion dollars. The following year Obama tripled that with 1.42 trillion dollars. "and have a vice president that shoots people in the face"

So there`s never been a liberal that had an accident during an activity or a hobby? Surely there has been an account of a butt plug causing death, or a gerbil eating a rectum. Maybe someone hugged a tree and got bitten by a snake.

"and is tied to BP`s oil spill."

Okay. BP never gave Bush a dime. Not 1 since penny. They gave Obama $86,000 for his campaign, AND he just awarded the very oil rig that blew up and caused all this mess a presidential safety award. Bush is tied to BP huh? Bush is TEXAS oil. BP hates Texas oil.

Allow me to respond to your points:
#1 You`re from or now live in Canada, so shut up.
#2 A `series` consists of 3 or more of anything. Bush only started two. Iraq which is wrapping up fairly well due to the troop surge that Obama opposed, but is now using himself to continue Bush`s other war in Afghanistan (which was a direct response to 9/11 and a joint multi-nation attack). Afghanistan is still very winnable not only for us, but also to free the people of that nation to rule themselves democratically, without tyrannical Taliban law. Iraq, well... maybe not such a good war, but Sadam was a dick (you know it`s true).
#3 I`d rather have a VP that shoots people in the face rather than a VP that excels at fitting his foot in his mouth at every speech he gives. Which is more intimidating?

"I guess it`s better to get into a series of unwinnable wars"

We have won both man. It`s a matter of leaving the country better than we found it. If we left Iraq or Afghanistan now, they would fall into a chaos deeper than when we got there. Arguably, lives are better for the people than before we went. I`m of the opinion that we are focusing on the wrong target. We need to put all our resources into Pakistan, but I digress...

"destroy the economy"

The economy was fine until 2006. At the beginning of the year in `06, there was 4.4% unemployment. Then Pelosi and her marionettes took the the legislative branch, and it went downhill, real real fast. Real Estate fell, because of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which was a Carter creation, given further power by Clinton.

iseeing, I don`t know about the situation here at IAB, but I have yet to meet a person in real life who didn`t think that Obama is a good president. I`ve been very happy with everything he`s achieved so far.

I can understand not agreeing with some (or even all) of his policies, but he is absolutely not a "bad" president. He is obviously a democrat, and thus republicans might not agree with him, but he is still doing a fine job of running the country.

I guess it`s better to get into a series of unwinnable wars, destroy the economy, and have a vice president that shoots people in the face and is tied to BP`s oil spill.
FoxNews is going to destroy the world

You clearly haven`t read my previous posts. Also, it took Bush`s troop surge in Irag (which Obama opposed and yet is now using the same tactic in Afghanistan) to make it possible for Obama to withdraw those very troops peacefully, leaving a far more stable Iraq. That victory goes to Bush.

@jamie76 (continued):
...billions in debt by borrowing from another government bailout fund.
- "jobs are coming back in a huge way...obama"
ACTUALLY: 9.7% unemployment is NOT jobs coming back in a HUGE way and that doesn`t include the underemployed that have given up looking for a job. It DOES include the temporary Census workers that are hired by the government and that will soon be out of a job.
- "so stop bitching already just because he is a dem and/or black."
ACTUALLY: It took quite a few Republicans, Libertarians and White people to get him elected, but poll numbers show those same people aren`t happy about his politics, decisions and misrepresentation of campaign promises. This isn`t a race issue, it`s a policy/leadership issue.

@jamie76:
Let`s quantify that last post.
- "rescession-the worst one we ever had and caused by repubtards is over...obama"
ACTUALLY: We`ve got both parties to blame for the worst recession. Dems pushing sub-prime lending through an unregulated Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac as well as mandating other private lending institutions to do the sames against their preference leading to the housing bubble that caused the recession. Repubs having too much deregulation of lending institutions and spending too much. Not to mention the Dems had control of BOTH houses of Congress since 2006 passing fiscally irresponsible policies that Presidents CAN`T write, but can only sign.
- "ford, gm and chrysler are still around...obama"
ACTUALLY - Ford was NEVER `bailed out`. Chrysler was temporarily helped, but was sold to Fiat and has repaid the loan. And GM has only now made a small profit (mostly due to restructuring under Bankruptcy) and lied about repaying billion

I hope that`s sarcasm, and don`t think I`m condoning Bush`s spending for one minute. I was hoping Obama was going to be fiscally responsible, UNLIKE Bush, NOT worse. He took McCain and Hillary Clinton`s campaign ideas and made them sound moderate and then when he was elected did what he wanted. He hasn`t been `transparent` at all. His administration is raking a fellow state, Arizona, through the mud without even reading their law (as admitted by recently Eric Holder, Janet Napolitano and the President himself) which is actually more lenient than the actual Federal Law it is designed to enforce. Has he even visited the Gulf Coast yet after over a month of the BP (his biggest monetary funder BTW) oil spill? I can go on and on...

I`ll tell you how I really feel about Obama:
- He lied about his approach to Health Care. STATEMENT: “We’ve got a philosophical difference, which we’ve debated repeatedly, and that is that Senator Clinton believes the only way to achieve universal health care is to force everybody to purchase it..." - Obama
- He lied about Health-care negotiations on C-SPAN.
STATEMENT: “These negotiations will be on C-SPAN, and so the public will be part of the conversation and will see the decisions that are being made.” January 20, 2008, and seven other times.
- He lied about raising taxes:
February 11, 2010: “President Barack Obama said he is ‘agnostic’ about raising taxes on households making less than $250,000 as part of a broad effort to rein in the budget deficit.”
- He lied about reducing earmarks to 1994 levels (BIG TIME)
- He lied about recognizing the Armenian genocide
- He lied about allowing penalty

He gives them a health care system ? His so called health care system is making companies drop there health care programs provided to employees and instead they will pay the penalty because it is cheaper for them. Thus, those employees will have to pay for there own health care. Forcing health care is unconstitutional... Obama has good intentions, but stupid plans.

why does it seem like many of your clinton/bush comments are just vague thoughtless trolls. it doesn`t seem like any1 knows what they are saying. clinton sucked, he may have gotten us out of debt for a time being, but that eventually screwed us over later in the bush terms. so instead of tracing that poor economy to him, just blame bush cuz he was in office at that time. not to mention bush had to deal with unforeseen events (911), no matter who was in office at that time, it probably wouldn`t have gone over well.
also, lets just give obama a nobel prize for not doing anything other then making promises (promises he has yet to fulfill) but also just because he`s a first black president.

I like the way all the southerners are so annoyed with Obama. He gave America a public health system for christ sake, that`s a huge huge deal! He sorted the banks out and put executives in their place. He`s making changes to your country when it needs it most and you are complaining? Why? Are you worse off because of him? Or are you worse off because he has to deal with GBs legacy of a completely anally raped economy? From an English point of view he has done nothing wrong, and made some amazing changes.
