It was a controversial episode, but not as controversial as the final scene with Elmo we didn"t see...

@lostinkorea Please explain how anything I have posted is false. What does living in Europe have to do with understanding the conflict in the Middle East any more than someone that has been there? I`d actually think this would only ruin your reputability, not assist. I`m not serving anymore but I`d gladly serve with a group of people from a military unit ANYDAY over a group from any other blue-collared workforce, and never with the rejects working in a fast food restaurant.

Alright, how much are they paying you to spread your filth?

Osprey2k9: Out of touch? I`m over here in Europe living it... and yes they have lowered standards. How do I know? Because I work and live with some of these deadbeats who don`t even deserve to work at McDonalds.

But yeah, thanks for commenting anyway. Go back to your fairytale land and Starbucks coffee!

@ lostinkorea:

You make me laugh with how out of touch with the US military you are. Where do you read this stuff!?!

a. EX-CONS? You can`t even join if you were caught smoking a joint with a medical marijuana card at a concert in California.

b. Lower on the aptitude test? You have to score better than 31% of the American public to join.

c. Technically Overweight? Good luck with that, 26% or more body fat is a No-go. There is this crazy concept called basic training even if we were able to get people in overweight, yeah, you have to pass that.

2,800,000+ troops serving in active, national guard and the reserves, close to 5000 troops have died in combat over an 8 YEAR PERIOD. It sucks that some good soldiers have died, but to compare: I live in a city in the US of 300,000 that had over 100+ murders last year, do some math and realize that living in my city is less safe than joining.

@ Keith2:

Our military is in fact accepting ex-cons, people who have scored lower on the aptitude test and people who are technically overweight. You know why? So we can fill a quota, basically, we need warm bodies in Iraq and Afghanistan right now. So by lowering standards and letting every thug in our military, they have succeeded in that goal. Who cares about the other consequences. So, I am sure if you go to the recruitment office today you`ll be in Iraq in 6 months. Good luck, you`ll need it!

err screw the world issue of it all. who gives a duck? this is funny an theres no reason to bring any seriousness into it. openly gay men cant join the army, so what, dont complain on a comedic site about it. take that business elsewhere... tsk tsk

that really frustrates me. i don`t see the problem with putting open gays in the military. its just another example of blatant ignorance.

Uhh, no it`s not elmo, if anything it would be elmo`s uncle, since he is the one who died.

More than likely it`s meant to be just a generic character.

However, I have every right to point out, that is not Elmo! They could`ve at least given him a nose. Elmo has a nose.
