Hmmm... So when I look to the right to see if no one is coming, I will automatically turn right? Very useful indeed. *eyeroll*

This is the dumbest invention I have ever seen.
No accounting for gazing at the mirrors to check if someone is coming up next to you.
No accounting for checking your blind spot.
No accounting for head movement, whether side to side or tilting.
No accounting for merging in to traffic, such as from a dead stop watching cars from the opposite direction.

I hope a whole board of people gets fired for this.

That could be so dangerous! With this technology you wont be able to enjoy the scenery without driving into it!

People turn left naturally when they look left anyway. It`s a bit jerky, yes, but I don`t think it claims to be a finished product.

How the hell are people supposed to look around for oncoming traffic or dangers without the car going beserk?

Unless I missed it, what an utterly stupid idea.

This seems like a silly and inefficient way to drive a car, did you see that steering wheel? so jerky

Stupid as hell. I`m perfectly capable of driving a car without the help of a helmet-computer to steer the car for me.

Kind of stupid way to do it. Make it detect your eye position relative to looking straight ahead. That way if you keep your eyes looking straight ahead and simply turn your head left and right it will turn the car.

So they made a piece of software that follows what is basically a big black dot on mostly bright surface and transfers motion of one dimension of this dot`s movement to a car? Sounds like something slightly more complex than analog stick with less functionality and practical use. That`s less impressive than, for example, face and smile detecting cameras, to be honest. Also, you don`t need to wear a bike helmet while driving a car with some monstrous construction on the roof for those cameras to work. Now if they made that car move to a point that you`re looking at, even if you`re not inside the car or looking at it from up above, that would be pretty cool.

We`ve got better stuff than this already in development. I think James May was looking at some, where it detects stuff around it (like a sonar, although I might be wrong), and avoids cars, or pulls in to let cars pass and stuff like that.
Looked pretty good.

Problems I can see:

Getting onto roundabouts - You`re looking at the oncoming traffic which means your car will steer into oncoming traffic.

Traffic lights: When your stopped at traffic lights you don`t look straight on, you look at the lights so you won`t move off straight.

Reversing/parking: Again looking the wrong way

changing the radio: BANG,you`re dead.

Looking at the view: BANG, you`re off the edge of a cliff
