"It`s even got an arm reaching down to cover up Galveston."

Great, as if Galveston needed any more help in looking crappy.
...some of the tar sticks to Obama too.
It isn`t much compared to Bush`s F--ked up Emergency Managment Agency in response to Katrina. The Coast Guard (or FEMA for that matter) aren`t meant to patch holes in the ocean. The U.S. and the whole world`s leaning on BP to handle that, and they`re not doing a good job.
something Obama had absolutely control over - fiizok
HAHAHA! I abosultely LOLED at your Freudian slip there fiizok! You seem to have a short memory, the MSM and Dems were ALL OVER Bush for his Katrena thing. I remember him declairing emergency & releasing funds 3 days BEFORE it struck, but Obama taking weeks to respond is OK with the MSM...
Sorry to get political, but when you tar and feather Bush for a hurricain, some of the tar sticks to Obama too (pun intended) eh?

It covers almost the whole triangle between Dallas, Austin, and Houston. I don`t really stray much from that area. It`s even got an arm reaching down to cover up Galveston.

Bush was blamed for his disastrous RESPONSE to Katrina. Likewise Obama is being blamed for his slow RESPONSE to this disaster.
drat humans and their love for money. What will you do with 1billion if you dont have an earth?
said the environmentalist, while tapping on his plastic keyboard, sending thousand of bits of data down his fiber-optic wires, from his laptop that`s powered by fossil fuels from his local electricity-generating power plant.

See where I`m going with this?

Bush didn`t cause Katrina either, But he was blamed nonetheless. Obama got THE highest campaign contribution from BP in 2008 $77,051, You don`t think he`s helping them cover their ass on this ?
After this latest fake photo op, I believe the `fix` is in.

@Paul1582

Close, my point was that there is nothing else that can be done other than what is already being done.

What`s the point of showing how big the spill is? Am I gonna say: "Wow, I guess the spill really is bad, guess I should quit hiding all this magical oil-be-gone cream and go give it to the guys trying to fix it!"

Male 2,345
BP caused this, they are suppose to have a plan for this type of thing, they are the experts and yet everyone thinks Obama should fix it right away when the very experts that caused it are at a loss for how to totally shut it off...

so basically, people want someone to blame and it might as well be him right...
Seriously, Zerocyde? So we are probably never going to be able to cure all people of AIDS and cancer so, by your thinking, nobody should contribute to the foundations attempting to find cures. No, his point was that you should quit helping out at this oil spill and instead help cure cancer.

Volume of the Atlantic is 354,700,000,000 km^3.
Mass of the Atlantic is therefore approximately 3.5x10^20 kg

Mass of the atmosphere is 5x10^18kg

Flow rate out of the Deepwater Horizon blowout is 5000 barrels a day.

Daily oil consumption worldwide is 85,000,000 barrels a day.

Every day we throw 17,000x as much oil into something that weighs 1/100th as much as the Atlantic, and have been doing so for a century.
(I am ignoring coal, you note).

If one believes that we are powerless to change the composition of the atmosphere then this oil leak is truly a drop in the ocean.

A bunch of people are there, working around the clock to try and stop it. What more can be done? Should we all quit our jobs and tap our savings so we can travel down there and rent some scuba gear and go plug the holes by sitting on them? STFU already.
